Drove from Hayward specifically to shop this place for a Halloween costume rental . It seemed promising and organized . Took a number and was told someone will be with me . Number called and I told the young lady I was looking for a Viking warrior costume to rent . With the advice of the other lady that worked there , she pulled out one leather corset strappy thing and said that's all we have . Being optimistic I said ok what would I wear with it and was told a slip and other items they don't have . As I was looking at it by the rooms I asked to try on and that is where the help stopped . She never came and checked on me. Never suggested anything else to try with it. Meanwhile the other lady was helping a couple completely engaged with suggestions and bringing items to try on . I usually like to support local small businesses and this was my go-to place for my rental costume needs but unfortunately, I think I have to address some issues I came across on my last visit. I was looking around for a Victorian Era like jacket for the Charles Dickens Christmas Fair in Daily City. And this lady who was working there kind of reeked of alcohol from her breath. Was she drinking on the job? Was she drinking before showing up to work? I don't know. Not only that but she was also very rude. While helping me, she insisted my size for a jacket was a medium and the medium jackets they had were snug on me while I was trying some on. And then she kind of barked at me for trying on a couple of jackets that was either a large or an extra large. I thought the large size jackets were more roomy and not snug, I thought they fit me perfectly than the mediums. She was lucky I was in a good mood that day because if I wasn't, I probably would've barked back at her and say that I don't wear a medium, I'm either a large or a extra large normally for shirts, sweaters, jackets, or coats. After her attitude, I quickly left and sort of lost interest in coming here. There is a girl who also works at Natasha's who looks like she is around my age and seems to work weekdays only. She is nice, pleasant, and understanding. I would much rather have her help me than the other lady who reeked of alcohol. After I left, I felt like I was better off buying my costume needs and/or accessories at thrift stores or any other second hand shops. And for a lot cheaper versus paying 100 something dollars to rent. I only needed a jacket and I guess I was lucky enough to find one at a thrift store that looked Dickens fair appropriate for around $8! Yes for $8! That's a big price range difference. I might as well keep the jacket to use for next year and so on. For the Renaissance fair, I might stick to either ordering stuff on the internet or try my luck finding the components at second hand stores again. At the same time, I hope Natasha's doesn't go out of business because I believe I might come back sometime as my last resort or any last minute items regarding a costume or whatever, and when an employee is not drunk and being rude to me. But Kudos to them for helping me out with a plague doctor outfit and accessories that I think looked phenomenal at the Renaissance Fair of 2023! read more

Loved Natasha's Attic! I needed a formal, 1940's style dress for a 1940's Swing/Big Band Revue that I was in and I looked everywhere for the perfect style but couldn't find anything I liked. I almost gave up until a friend of mine suggested Natasha's Attic. When I went I talked to Chelsea about what style I was looking for and showed her some pics I found of examples. She picked out numerous lovely dresses, but when I put this dress on it was magical!!! The dress fit perfectly, had just the right amount of bling and was exactly what I was looking for. It checked all the boxes and I got so many compliments about it at the show. Chelsea and everyone at Natasha's Attic were so helpful and made the process of renting the gown smooth and easy. The price is very reasonable too. If I were to buy a dress, it would've easily cost twice as much. I called Natasha's Attic on October 21st, asking if they have any scaring Liquid, couldn't been brand from Mehron (or what ever they had). I live in Monterey so I needed to know if they even had the product. They confirmed they did so I had my sister drive me all the way to San Jose the next day to get it. I was so static when I first entered the store; really great products and lots of it is Vintage which I adore. We came at 2:00pm so I was expecting it not to be busy. But it was; which was no problem me and my sister weren't in any hurry. So we took a look around the back of the shop where most of the Halloween costumes are. We found many things have no price on them; that is because this is a RENTING store. Just keep that in mind when u shop. Anyways we are waiting for almost 45 min for someone to help us. When we eventually get help we find the woman helping us have no idea what we're talking about; and also questioned us if we "knew what we were doing/using". That immediately set me off because that is kinda a rude question to ask someone that knows more about the product than the worker. My sister and I ended up having to leave because the owner kept yelling in our ears. No stars, don't go here if u wanna keep your sanity. read more

Yay! Play dress up! I purchased a wig here for a friends "wiggin' out!" themed 40th birthday party recently. The sales person was incredibly patient with my friend and I while we spent at least an hour trying on damn near every wig in the shop. I went with a fun hot pink and lavender number and my friend chose fire engine red to match her dress. They have pretty much anything you could imagine, from the typical to the outrageous, and I received a ton of compliments at the party. (It was a hell of a party, too) In addition they have a huge selection of full costumes and accessories for rent or purchase. Large, parking lot and convenient location as well. they told me that the dress was never worn. Which was a huge lie. They even didn't bother to clean it properly and charged us a lot. I wasn't able to come with my husband to pick it up and check the dress but once I was prepping it for the event I found out a bunch of stains and holes. The most gross part of it is arm pit stains! I got invited last minute to a Masquerade Ball and wanted to see if I could get a good gown to really do the experience right. I figured if they didn't have anything, I had a dress in my closet that could work with some tweaks. Nope! They had quite a lot considering it was October and needed the next day! The front of the store is your regular Halloween off-the-shelf type costumes with a great selection but the back is where you get a store member that listens to what you are trying to make and makes it happen! This year, I needed help for a Roaring 20s themed New Years Eve party and was really struggling to figure out what I needed. Phillip stepped right up and started playing with options until, after seeing a photo of the glittery dress my date would be wearing, he switched gears and got me fully set up in a Jazz Age tuxedo with tails, cufflinks, and two-toned shoes that perfectly fit the bill. Unfortunately, the new store on Winchester is not in the same feel as the old store. The shopping for items space feels like a dressing room with too many people in it. I love dressing up. I love costume parties even more. Natasha's Attic is the place I go to for all my costume needs. I've been here at least 5 times. Each time the service is not bad. The costume selection is huge. They can alter the dress to fit your height, adjust the size so it fits you better on the waist or chest. All these while you wait. Now that's the way I like it! Otherwise I'm impatient enough I will just not attend the function. Natasha's Attic makes it easy for you! The last time I was here I was in search of a Venetian Mask. They have a good variety. All so beautiful but some are outstanding! They range from $20-100+. One thing I dread? The amount they charge for their costumes. $80! But I kept mine for one week! Pretty cool rent time. Easy return policy too. They do a pretty quick return here. If you're careful you get all your security deposit back. read more

I went here to rent a costume but due to the selections and price (it's pricey), I opted to borrow my Mom's Cat Woman costume instead. The place is somewhat small, cozy if you will but everything is well categorized and staff are very helpful and friendly. The costumes that I like were not work appropriate and the ones that are work appropriate, that would have meant I would dress positively Amish (nothing wrong w/ that but I like my clothes to be fitted and tight). Totally stay away from the packaged costumes, as they are vastly over-priced, cheap, and aren't even marked with pricing. Their rentals and fancier costume selection is okay. The quality and upkeep of these widely varies. The workers don't really ask you much about your needs but merely give a book to scrounge through. When it comes down to pricing, I highly suggest haggling to find a good price - it worked for me. read more

I stopped by here based on a co-worker's recommendation. I was floored by the amount of STUFF they could pack into this place. There were many options in terms of costumes, though most of them are either in the $45-60 range or the $120 and up range. The best part of the shopping experience was that they had many non-slutty options than other Halloween costume shops I've braved in the past. I was also astounded by the selection of wigs and random accessories that one might be looking for to jazz up a custom outfit. I didn't leave with a costume, but it wasn't for lack of trying on the store's part.
