ust passing through the area, we came across this dairy. I can never pass up the chance to visit a dairy that makes its own cheese, especially when they offer fresh, "squeaky" cheese curds. We stopped in and were lucky enough to arrive while they were actually making curds. It was fun watching part of the process through the observation windows. The retail area isn't very large, but they pack in a surprising amount of merchandise. It didn't take many customers before the space started to feel crowded, making it a little difficult to browse some of the products. Of course, we couldn't leave without a bag of fresh cheese curds. By far, the absolute best cheese shop in the entire Midwest. Nobody else can come close to the quality and price point that they provide. We have driven from as far away as the upper peninsula of Michigan and Minneapolis, Minnesota to get their cheese. We load up every time we get anywhere near there. We currently live in Arizona and we have ordered cheese to be delivered to us whenever we run out. My wife is addicted to their Baby Colby and I buy everything else in the store from Munster, Provolone and of course tons of Cheese Curds. All you have to do is stop here one time and you're going to be addicted like we are. Wish this place was a little closer but they have great prices on their cheeses so worth a drive once or twice a year. We tried several of the havarties which included caraway, olive and dill along with some longhorn and aged Swiss and cheese curds. We also bought a sausage to try out. Their cheeses are fresh and low priced. The atmosphere was a little quiet. Everyone was busy doing their job so nobody bothered to greet you on entering the store, or asked if we needed help. One did answer a few questions when asked but other than that it was not very friendly. We use to go to a farm cheese house in southern WI where you could pick out your cheese, they slice it and wrap it to order. This place just has cheese chunks already wrapped in a case. I prefer the order and wrap style. Makes it a more into experience to interact with staff. But I would go back here if in the area. read more

The retail shop is small, but don't let that fool you - they have a large selection of cheese, and it is excellent. The prices are very reasonable and the cheese is delicious. we walked into the store and right by the door was some cheese sitting on the counter so we assumed it was for sampling. Apparently it was not. I guess it was being packaged by a worker that had left the cheese sitting out on the counter, unattended, by the door where customers were coming in. The man that must have been responsible ripped into us. Great cheese comes from Wisconsin, not happy cows. We have been ordering from this dairy for many years now. This is hands down the best cheese I have ever had in my life. Pales in comparison to other cheeses I've found in California. Here are my recs: -Aged sharp cheddar 4 years or more: This is some serious aged sharp cheddar. The longer it ages, the more it flakes/crumbles so just be aware of it! It's just the most amazing flavor you will ever experience. I basically can only eat this kind of cheddar now. The 10+ year aged ones are good too, but not really necessary imo. -Cheese curds: I never had cheese curds before I had this dairy. They're these little pieces that you get from making cheddar before they press them, so they're more bouncy in texture. They are salty and kinda squeak when you eat them. A must order! yummm -Beef sticks: 'Nuff said Anything else you order from here will be great. We always order a huge variety, but the three above are the staples we MUST order each time. :) Order off their website and have it delivered to your door in just a few days! read more

This is one of my family's favorite places to buy milk from in Wisconsin but unfortunately upon this visit, we will not be returning. The employee working named Roxanne had an extreme attitude when we asked her if they had any more milk and when they would refused to tell us how old the remaining milk was. It was my first visit to a cheese factory. It was super cool, we got a tour from one of the managers (thank you, Brenda!), and it was really educational and fun.
