I have been a patient of Dental Laser for 5 years. Prior to having heart valve surgery I asked if…read moremy dentist could complete a required form for this surgery. The form confirms X-rays completed in last 6 months and has a yes or no check box indicating no active infections. Had X-rays and a teeth cleaning on May 1st and then came back on May 22nd with the understanding this form would be take care of. See email below From Dental Laser: Hello Angie, I spoke with the doctors involved in your treatments, Dr Angelica told me that the responsible for the authorization form for your surgery will be Dr Sanchez; he wants to see you in order to fill out the form, we can move your appointment with him on 5/22 from 10 to 9:30 so he can have more time Ivan S. Dental Laser Nogales, Customer Care Specialist On May 22nd Dr Sanchez was unwilling to complete this form telling me that this can only be done by a specialist. I spoke to the office manager Jose and he told me all specialists were busy. Dr Sanchez agreed that I have no infections but wasn't comfortable checking the "no" box on the form. (!!??) Dental Laser is not confident enough to stand by their dental evaluations. I would not had make a trip to Nogales from Tucson if Dental Laser was honest when I asked about having this form completed. Dental Laser should have just stated we cannot complete the form instead of leading me on. Now I had to spend $100 to see another dentist in Tucson and take time off work. During this visit the Tucson dentist found a cavity (which Dental Laser MISSED) so total cost $400. Dental laser should pay this amount but I know that Dental Laser DOES NOT DO THE RIGHT THING. Dental Laser, pretty on the outside, decayed on the inside.

They advertise falsely and do not honor this. Beware. I would never do business with again. It has taken over two years to straighten out with no help dealing with my insurance.

On July 20, 2022 Dr Garfield performed a root canal on molar three. I experienced a lot of pain…read moreafterwards but was told that was normal. On August 2, I went in for him to remove the old crown and put a temporary on that tooth. I told him then I was in constant pain. On 8/17 I had the permanent crown put on. Again it was extremely painful, I could not bite on the tooth and it hurt just to touch it with my tongue. Thus began a series of visits to "adjust my bite." I was going in weekly to have the tooth ground, still in much pain. Finally Dr Garfield said he would replace that crown. I went in on October 27 and the old crown was removed and a temporary was put on. The temporary fell out a few days later and when I called to come in to have it fixed I was told there was no one available and to get glue and replace it myself. This temporary crown fell out several times a day and I kept attempting to fix it, almost three weeks. Finally four days before the permanent crown was to be put on I met Blanca, an assistant at the office, to put it on. She kept grinding on the tooth next to it until I told her to stop. That fix lasted two days. Mid November the permanent crown was placed. That night I woke in excruciating pain. I called the office the next day and they had me come in. Dr Garfield took more x-rays and said everything was fine. At that point he came over and took my hand and said I'm really worried about you. That was it, never you better go to a specialist, he ground that tooth down another 1/2 hour insisting it was a bite issue. I was living on advil, ( he wanted to give me a prescription strength prescription, I said no, but he did call in a prescription for more antibiotics. At that point I called a client that was a retired dentist and he said to ask for a referral to an endodonist. I went to the endodonist on December 8th. A few x-rays showed that part of Dr Garfield's file was left halfway up a root, one root was only completed about a third and one was done correctly. He advised surgery to try to get the file out and finish the root canal. I had the surgery, several more months of pain and healing. The tooth is ok, not great, will probably need an implant in the future. I paid Sunshine Dentistry $3500.00 for five months of pain and suffering. My surgery was another $2000.00 I filed a complaint with the board of dentistry. Dr Garfield had the audacity to say I had refused a refund. That is not true. One of the owners of the business called me and offered the $3500, I replied what about the surgery costs, etc. His reply was he would meet with the other owners and get back to me, I never heard back. So for an expensive traumatic, experience do go to Sunshine dentistry.

I would like to say that this dental practice is the best care that I have received anywhere. Dr. Tardiguila is very cognizant of your issues and makes every effort to ensure that you have no pain. He is the only Oral surgeon that I have met at this practice. The cost for all of this work will be 70-80% less than what I would pay for the same work in the States. Their office is a quick 4 block walk from the Main Nogales, AZ entry point. The only down side is that you must have your passport or Global Access card to cross the border. I don't think that the US customs is accepting the Birth certificate/Drivers license routine as correct documentation anymore.

I hadn't been in for a couple of years and arrived without an appointment, yet the moment I walked through the door I was met with the kind of professionalism and genuine care that every patient hopes for. Ivan greeted me immediately and handled the situation with impressive calm and efficiency. Within minutes he had taken an X-ray, contacted Drs. Saturno and Ruiz, and assured me they would fit me in despite a busy schedule. His attentiveness set the tone for the entire visit. Before seeing his scheduled patients, Dr. Saturno--whom I know personally--took the time to examine my tooth and review the X-ray with me. He explained the situation clearly and compassionately, ultimately recommending an extraction. His transparency and thoroughness were deeply reassuring. I was then escorted across the street to their original office (their new clinic is truly magnificent, by the way), where I met Dr. Alejandra--Dr. Ruiz's sister. Dentistry clearly runs in the family. What followed was, quite honestly, one of the best dental experiences I've ever had. A molar extraction certainly doesn't make anyone's "Top 10 Favorite Experiences" list, but Dr. Alejandra changed that for me. She was extraordinary--professional, meticulous, gentle, and remarkably skilled for such a young dentist. I felt absolutely nothing. From start to finish, the care, compassion, and competence of the entire Border Dental team were exceptional. They over charge for everything. I would not recommend this dental place to anyone after they made a mistake the workers in the office started looking at us and treating us disrespectfully they were the ones that made a mistake and we somehow were the ones that were being mistreated. My sister was up next to be seen and they took another patient in before her just to be more disrespectful and make a point. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTAL PLACE. Horrible service. There is a lot more places that don't charge so much further down and that treat you with respect and dignity.

I recently realized that I forgot to write a review about this golden find in Nogales. I was a late…read morebloomer in starting my braces experience, so expense was a big deal for me. I heard about Dr. Moreno from my dad. He spoke very highly of him and his office so I went with him. Now don't get me wrong, going to an orthodontist office in a different country was a bit nerve wracking for me. I live in Arizona so it wasn't a bad drive at all, just about an hour or so away and the walk across the border was just a small 5 minute walk. It was actually very exciting my first time going I was able to see the uniqueness of Mexico. The second you step into this office though it was like I stepped right back into one of the orthodontist offices in Tucson. The place is spotless, and I mean so clean you can see your reflection on the marble walls. It was so fancy as well with marble everywhere and flat screen TVs, the kids area has an array of tablets set to a counter with chairs and a bunch of games on them. The couches are comfortable with plenty of magazines also in English for some. He lady at the desk was very welcoming and spoke good English. And they have a neat set up where you walk up to a computer to check yourself in. The doctor did a consult with me and he was very professional and paid very close attention to detail from my X-rays. He explained to me all of his plans for how to get my teeth to look the best. He had very neat graphics on his computer that showed how my teeth would move. He even fixed he proportions of my jaw with small comfortable titanium screws. (I didn't even know that was possible). The staff was all so nice even the ones who couldn't speak much English were very patient with me and very nice. The big room where the doctor works on your teeth is very comfortable and he talks to you the whole time ensuring you are comfortable. I do recommend going as early as possible if you have to cross the border just because the line to cross the border back to Tucson is very short in the mornings on weekdays. I almost forgot to mention how great his prices are, very affordable monthly payments! And much less expensive than Tucson. I love my smile and get compliments on it all the time I couldn't have gone to a better orthodontist. He gets all of my recommendations!
