The staff were very personable and you could tell Israel, my barber was very passionate about his job. Start with cold beverage on a hot day, then meet an exceptional stylist-in my case the always amazing Stephany-that cuts your hair exactly how you like it, add in the hot wax dip for your hands (so great for my arthritis) then a shampoo, scalp massage, face massage, and arm and hand massage to round out your experience, and you have a 45 minute trip to a heavenly paradise. Being a once-a-month subscriber, I get to enjoy this blissful escape from reality every four weeks or so. I received The Benchmark service and I would describe it as the last word in a luxury haircut experience. First Stephany asked me how I like my hair done, then she suggested some options for styling it that I had not considered before. I quite liked her suggestions and took them. She was gentle but firm while she cut my difficult, curly hair and trimmed my beard, and I could tell she was taking her time to do the best possible job. After the trim part, she took me to a quiet back salon room where she dipped my hands in paraffin wax, then began the scalp massage and hot towel treatment. I had never experienced a paraffin-wax dip and the wax felt strange at first, but as a chef and frequent hand-washer I don't think my hands have been hydrated like that in years. The treatment that followed included a face massage, a hot towel wrapped around my face, a pleasant eucalyptus aromatherapy, a shampooing and a scalp massage, then she removed the wax from my hands and gave me a hand massage. I am happy to say that Stephany brought the same careful attention to detail to each of the services, and was both responsive and informative when it came to the styling that followed. She even helped me understand what I have so far been doing wrong in caring for my beard and made some wonderful suggestions to improve my beard's health! In summary, I do not believe I have experienced relaxation quite like I did at The Boardroom, and would recommend Stephany to anyone who might be interested in elevating a haircut experience. She was knowledgeable, professional, great at small talk, and I will be visiting again soon to request her services!

Armando, Just to clarify i called an hour prior to my arrival and i take total ownership of not…read moremaking that distinction in my prior review; that detail may have had a negative influence on your response and i do apologize for the oversight on my end. Your comment on my inability to "keep a barber" is unfounded based on the fact you dont know my history, so let me share some of it. Instead of acknowledging the discrepancy between what I was told over the phone and what happened when I arrived, you shifted the responsibility onto me and made assumptions about my history with barbers and shops that are simply untrue. I called your shop before arriving specifically to confirm availability. I did not simply walk in expecting to be accommodated. I called ahead, asked about availability because the online portal for appointments was down, resulting in a reliance on the information I was given. That is a very important part of what happened, and your response does not address it. As for your comment about me being unable to keep a consistent barber: I had the same barber from my very first haircut until I was 24 years old and moved to Arizona. I have also had thousands of haircuts throughout my lifetime. I know what a professional barber-client relationship looks like, and I know the difference between an ordinary misunderstanding and an experience that feels deliberately misleading. What I experienced at your establishment made me feel intentionally misled in a way that appeared designed to increase foot traffic. Had I been given accurate information when I called, I could have made an informed decision and gone somewhere else. That is the fundamental issue you have not addressed. I also find it noteworthy that the tone of your response directly aligns with the way your barbers interacted with me. Rather than addressing a customer's legitimate concerns with professionalism and accountability, the response is defensive, argumentative, and places the blame back on the customer. That interaction itself reinforces the exact concern I raised in my review about the customer experience at your shop. I am not criticizing your business because you prioritize appointments. That is completely reasonable. I am criticizing the way the situation was handled after I specifically called ahead to confirm availability, and the way my concerns were subsequently dismissed rather than addressed. After thousands of haircuts over the course of my life, I have never experienced what I perceived as such intentional malpractice in managing customer expectations simply to generate foot traffic. If your position is that appointments have priority, that is fine--but customers who call beforehand should be given accurate information so they can make an informed decision about whether to come in. That is the core issue, and your response unfortunately does nothing to resolve it. Once again, best of luck to you and all patrons. I hope you can utilize this as an opportunity to optimize the customer experience and not take it as a personal attack or slight. But i want to be clear, your response only reinforced my desire to clearly state/identify my concerns and outline the negative experience i had in your shop and subsequently with you.

First chair to the right goes to assist and sends me to the back corner right chair. Immediately I'm afraid because BACK CHAIR? Okay. I meet Angie and she's cool. I tell her and show her what I want and tell her I cut this with scissors so I don't need a lot taken off, no taper, my sides are thin...I give her the whole 9. She combs my hair up and puts a wet towel over it. What BLACK HAIR do you wet before cutting? Immediately I'm pissed and I know ima be messed up. Listen to the professional right? Not the person who's had the hair for 40 plus years. I let her know what mousse works for my hair and that I will be mad if she try's to use LOTTA BOTTA. I've tried everything and went to cosmetology school. She goes and buys something completely different. Tries to cut more, I stop her and say that's okay. I set an appointment to finish it Saturday cause why not? It's already messed up might as well let her finish when I have time. She has me follow her on IG, that's my only means of communication. As I'm running late, I reach out- no reply. I still drive over a hr to get in. She says she can't take me with major attitude, mind you there were various slots available Friday AND online shows a waitlist available. I say okay and I'll go to anyone. Now magically after saying you can take walk-ins...everyone is busy. Now I'm left looking stupid, 1/2 my head cut. She never even attempted to make another appointment with me. Looking at the page it was clear she can't cut black hair. Thanks again Arizona
