I need stability people. Someone who understand my hair and what I like, so I can enjoy my trip to the salon. In the past year I have returned home with a terrible hair cut because none of the 3 hair stylists understood my hair. They didn't have the time to! If you can get a stylist who will stick by you for a few years, then I'm sure Aquilibrium will be a great place to go. However, based on my recent experiences they have turned away a loyal customer. Wow, Liz and Sumi certainly worked their magic on my hair. My appointment started out with a thorough consultation to understand my hair type, my face type and how I style my hair on a daily basis. Then, we proceeded to a trim to the side of my head and at the back of my head. Sumi asked lots of great questions and walked through every step of the process to make sure I was aware of the procedures and communicated what was going on, which I really did appreciate. Then, we proceeded to the application of the solution which was pretty cool as it was 3-person teamwork project to apply solution while putting my hair into curls. It was actually a fun experience. The final reveal of my hair was amazing. I was in awe of how my dull and boring thick black horn could look naturally shaped with the curls. The style was clean and smart and the staff provided helpful tips to ensure that I can maintain my look for a long-term basis. I highly recommend this spot if this is your first or ongoing perm appointment. It was one of the most pleasant experiences, especially for this person who does not like sitting in a chair for long periods of time.

My appointment starts on time. As soon as I enter and register, I'm taken around back to start my hair. I'm not sitting waiting for my stylist for 45 minutes nor am I waiting between services. I've once had my hair air dry while waiting for someone to be free to blow dry it. This DOESN'T happen at Azan's. 2. I don't spend all day at the salon. I can actually plan other appointments/events for my day. 3. They don't charge black market kidney prices. My wallet is not as badly affected and they have special pricing for students. 4. My hair has never been healthier. I relax my hair and using chemicals strips it of natural moisture, usually causing it to break and appear like it's not growing. However, my stylist, Karin, really takes care of my hair. I know I'm in good hands and it shows...right there on my head! For these reasons, I keep going back to Azan's.

Christopher G Hair Emporium popped up on a search with some decent reviews so I decided to give them a call. They were able to accommodate me on a 5 min notice for a trim (it was a middle of the morning on a weekday so don't go thinking that they were just sitting around without clients) and some serious hair catch-up. The small salon is located on the ground floor of a commercial/residential building and while chatting with a very pleasant stylist, Chris Jr, I found out that they'd been at that location for 27 years! That is a long time to be around for a hair salon and I was about to experience first hand why. The salon is not fancy but bright and sun-filled and so was the disposition of Chris jr my stylist, as he cheerily washed and trimmed away my split ends all the while explaining to me what he was doing. He gave me a nice low maintenance cut that still looks good without doing too much to it. Once the cut was done, he gave me one of the most thorough blow-drying, my hair had so much volume and bounce to match the lovely spring day that was blooming outside. I left feeling like a million bucks and will surely go back to see Chris Jr for my next haircut but this time, I'll call ahead to make sure he's available!

I was quite pleased with the results and the interesting conversation we had while he was busy working on my hair.
