After a week of tapas in Madrid we were starting look for other food options besides tapas and…read morefinally decided on Italian at Bresca. It is a very small, functional, and modest restaurant in a very convenient location. Ratings were decent. For three of us we ordered 2x lazagna made with spinach pasta, and 1x Ham ravioli. Both were excellent. The lasagna was particularly enjoyable. Order an extra if you bring an American appetite.

Looking for a non-Spanish food place for dinner one evening, we found Bresca…read more The interior is cute. Lots of stone with greenery. Just very cozy feeling. Our server was good and helped gove some recommendations. There was a BOGO drink special on spritz, so we started with that and the gnocco fritto, which were like little puffed pita bread. I had the pistachio pesto pasta and hubs had carbonara. We both loved our pastas and couldn't say no to the pistachio tiramisu dessert. If you need a break from Spanish food while in Madrid, Bresca is a great choice.

In Madrid, there are many pizza and pasta joints but very few truly Italian restaurants. By truly…read moreItalian, I mean not just in food but in feel too. However, in the small outskirt town of Pozuelo there exist a small Italian restaurant that, in my eyes, measures up to being truly Italian. This place is authentic in its food and decor. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in an old world authenticity. With seating both inside and outside, this place offers a venue that is warm and inviting. But, with very limited seating ensure you make a reservation. The staff is very friendly and speak English if you need some help. Both our waitress and waiter helped us decipher the menu and choose the perfect lunch entrees. My wife and I enjoyed every bite of each dish. We ordered the biscotti breadsticks, the pumpkin sauce with penne pasta, and a mushroom based sauce with egg noodles. All was exceptionally scrumptious and each dish is a shareable portion (and that's coming from an American who knows about large portions). The price was right too, by the way. For the two of us with all that food and drinks we paid €45. Overall, this is a great place. If you're looking for more than pizza and croquettes in Spain, this is the place you're looking for and need. Enjoy!
