A few months ago, I ruined my brand new suede leather jacket and discovered that my suitcase was not even close to watertight during a rainy weekend in Berlin. I'd been dreading taking it to someone to look at for fear the would tell me it would never recover. Then I found Napoleon. He didn't set my expectations high, saying he could get the water stain out, but matching the color after would be difficult. Figuring it couldn't get any worse, and thankful for his honesty, I left the jacket with him and kept my fingers crossed. Two days later, he dropped it off for me since it wasn't quite ready for me to pick up when I stopped by, and charged me less since it wasn't there right when I walked over. It's in beautiful condition again, and my fiancee couldn't tell where the water stain had been in the first place. He did a beautiful job with it, and provided excellent service for a very good price. We'll definitely be using him again for any other leather or shoe cleaning/repair. Note that his space in 401 W A St is currently under construction, and he isn't there every day. Napoleon saved my favorite pair of boots. I've had them for almost 8 years and I've done a lot of damage to them over the years. Recently, I caused even more damage when I foolishly tried to use super glue to hold down the heel. The glue was seeping out the sides causing carpet fibers to stick to the sides. I had Napoleon repair a pair of high heels and a pair of boots for me. The heels needed the "top lift" replaced. (I had to Google that - it's basically the part of the skinny heel that touches the ground.) I had worn mine down to nothing. I had also worn down the heel of the boots through the rubber. I was dismayed since these were expensive boots and I had barely worn them. Napoleon did great repairs, and he also suggested a few other improvements to extend the life of the shoes - I told him that I was happy to make any upgrades as long as we could keep the total cost under $75. I both dropped off and picked up my shoes from the Cleaner's he directed me to - they were friendly and helpful. Napoleon is great. He took my 7 year old military style dress shoes with dry rot on the sole and made them look better than new with vibram soles. He polished them up to a high gloss. I love the way they look and feel. Sure I could have thrown them away and bought a new pair for $100 or so dollars but he does a great job he hooked up those shoes. Also I had a very expensive motorcycle jacket DIANESE that I was very disappointed with that faded from a nice matte black leather to gray after almost a year of riding. So I brought it to home and he cleaned it up and got it back to black. I am very happy with the way it turned out. $500 dollar jacket saved. All and all he does excellent work. Napoleon is a great guy - very attentive to your needs. He also is very text savvy - making drop off and pick up super easy to coordinate with him. Just make sure you call before you show up. I went without calling and he wasn't there- BUT the jeweler next door offered to give my boots to him when he came to the office next. It worked out pretty good! And my boots look SICK! Also make sure you know where you're going before just gps'ing down there... The parking structure is on the east side of the building - don't expect to find street parking. Inherited a pair of genuine Spanish Leather Boot heels that simply needed new soles, heel caps, and a lot of TLC. They were dry because they were almost 30 yrs old. He not only was able to do it within the same week, but was able to do a second pair I had, also. They turned out more beautiful than I could have ever asked for. They are better than ever. Gorgeous, like new- completely unbelievable. Good Location in a big Building at Columbia Center- bottom floor. This is most definitely a man that loves his work. It shows in his final product. I've been going to Napoleon on and off for a couple of years. He is great with heels but isn't as good or on top of some of the other stuff. Last year I used another shoe repair service and they didn't even fix my shoes! I took them to Napoleon and he was able to repair one pair but not the other ~ I definitely did not fault Napoleon for that. Napoleon is pleasant to work with. He may not remember your name but he will remember YOU. When he can, and if you are not located too far from his shop, he will even pick up and deliver! That is a bonus for sure.
