My car has been sitting at the service center for 4 days. I was charged 500 for diagnosis and still have not been told what the problem is. No service advisor has contacted me or informed me of any charges. I will never take any vehicle back to this location again. I usually go to the Orland Park location and they are very professional and informative and straightforward. I called today and they said the service center was closed at 4:30 on a Wednesday that seems strange so I called back and get through to the service center. They are shady charging you for services. They didn't perform. I'm going up there at 7:30 tomorrow and speak to the service manager and if my car is not repaired. For a 65,000 dollar car, this places management and service center are a bunch of .... Literally every time I have taken the car into them, they found ways to void the warranty . I would take it to an independent dealer first to see if they find anything first. We already bought our second Volvo from a different dealership because of our experience. Now, we are likely done with Volvo except for me submitting a formal complaint to corporate. In our case the infotainment system was messing up since pretty early on when we bought it. We brought it up to them a year ago and they said they looked and nothing wrong. Problem persisted, we brought it in for service and they said they found water damage and it's our fault. The part we had to replace is a common failure of the xc90. The xc90 has a ton of glitches on the infotainment system. Who knows if what they said was actually causing it. They offered us 2200 to fix it. I complained and they brought it to 1900. I created a review and they were actually palpably pissed off at me. They were reluctant to give me the parts numbers. After I took the car back, the passenger seat stopped working as well. One can only wonder if they maliciously did something to it. I tried to call 5 more times and they never answered my calls. I now can't get my Volvo it's final free service here because I don't think they have integrity nor will they answer my calls. I took it to my mechanic and he is fixing everything, and the chair which needed a motor... for 1500, mind you, their original quote didn't even include the chair, through them would have been presumably another 1500-2 grand They are terribly over priced, have questionable integrity, don't answer their calls and get petty when they are called out on.. Have a busy life with kids and work but finally have the time to take this up to corporate. And will explain my time with Volvo is over which is unfortunate given I'm in my mid 30s with a wife and 5 kids that all need cars. read more

I drive about 1.5 hours to get my Volvo serviced whenever it needs done, but I always leave incredibly satisfied. A few weeks ago, I brought my car in because there was a piece of my undercarriage that was hanging low to the ground and I didn't know what type of screws were needed to put it back into place. They took it in and fixed it for me and within 10 minutes, I had my car back and they didn't charge me for it. Thankfully it was an easy fix, but I was so happy when they said it was free! Why should I eat the cost on service that was not provided? As I began my review on this dealership, I must say, had I read the reviews on this dealership prior, I would've been very skeptical to get my vehicle serviced here. I have never experienced such a horrendous service experience in my entire years of owning a vehicle. On 1/18/24, I took my 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio to get a simple oil change. Brandon Lopez assisted me, not only was I there for nearly 3 hours, but after the given facts it is clear that the service, I paid for was NOT provided. As Brandon mentioned to me my engine light came on, he mentioned he can run a diagnosis to see what the cause is. I mentioned to him that was not necessary. Once it was time to pay the invoice, he mentioned that he performed the diagnosis anyway and that I will need a new charcoal canister. After giving me a quote for nearly 2K of repair cost, I did let him know I would be in touch for when those services can be done. Not even 24 hours later, more lights started to appear on my dash, as my vehicle started to jerk as I accelerated. Immediately I contacted Brandon, and he said it was because of the charcoal canister he mentioned to me. As I continued to investigate the issue, the research that was provided made it clear that the issues Brandon had given were not the cause. After the first incident I started to notice a huge oil puddle in my driveway as well as my oil levels decreasing. Considering my experience with the lack of service that was provided at this dealership, I refuse to let them work on my car again, as the maintenance on my Stelvio is not cheap. Fortunately, I was able to obtain a second opinion on everything, and it was crystal clear that service was NOT provided on my vehicle. Alfa Romeo/Volvo Schererville, IN did not change my oil as it was BLACK/OLD OIL in my Stelvio as you can see in the photos. Also finding out the leak came from a bad Oil Filter that was damaged and was put on incorrectly by this dealership as you can also see in that photo as well. As I type this review it sickens me that I must leave such an unpleasant experience that was provided with the lack of service that I did not receive. Much like others that come to this dealership, the vehicles we drive are not cheap, and if you did not have all the essential requirements to work on my vehicle, it should have been stated when the appointment was made. I purchased a 2017 Tacoma. I told them upfront I have excellent credit and will not be paying "loan origination fees" as I know there are banks/lending institutions that do NOT charge these fees. My salesman showed me my "pencil" deal and it did not have these fees. I felt good about it. Took the deal. Showed up the next day and signed the paperwork and drove off. Later, upon further reviewing my paperwork, there was a "Prepaid Finance Charge Paid to Seller" for $195.00. Didn't show up in bottom line sale, but rolled into interest rate. Totally deceptive. When I spoke to a manager (Jeff) he stated, "It is silly." Why would any lending practices by silly? It's designed this way to sneak it past as consumer. The very worst customer service experience I've ever had, in any industry. I had my car towed there several weeks ago after an accident. The repair took three weeks, because of a "grammatical error" that led to the insurance company rejecting Napleton's forms, as well as an incorrectly ordered part. When I finally received my car, I noticed that the air conditioner was still broken, and that there was damage to the body that they had missed. I now am taking my car to a second repair shop to finish the repair and inspect the work done here. I called to let Napleton know what had happened, and was told I'd receive an immediate call back. Five days later, and nothing. At best this is gross negligence. At worst it's insurance fraud. read more

My wife wanted to upgrade her Lexus and Volvo was one of the car we wanted to look at. So we pulled up parked by the Volvo sign. Only to discover there were no Volvos there. So we walked around the corner passing by the Mercedes show room still no one greeted us. Finally in front of Fiat and Alpha Romero showroom we find the Volvos. We see a Black S60 R Design which is exactly what we were looking for. Still no one comes and greets us. Annoyed I walk into the nearest showroom (Fiat) and ask for help and was told to drive around the corner which is where we first parked. So we walk back to our car and I decide to call from the car. First time I get hung up on the second time time I wait on hold while they try and contact a salesman. I give up hang up and drive away. Never have I ever gotten an oil change that lasted longer than an hour... Came in at about 11:30 after calling to verify they will honor a service contract I made when I bought my '13 Honda Accord from Napleton River Oaks- no problem there... well no problem after they had to re check that they would do it while I waited in the service bay for 30+ minutes. Did I mention I had called beforehand? So that's all fine and dandy, they'd honor the 3 year contract. Cool. I was next in line so I figured it'd be done and over with rather quickly. Boy was I mistaken. After waiting two or so HOURS (after that half hour wait) for a simple oil change. I finally get my car back, hop in and drive off. Irritated at the fact that I thought I'd be saving myself some time by not driving out to IL and actually spending MORE time here, waiting, helping myself to free popcorn and coffee. Trying to use a men's room which was occupied by an employee for at least 40 minutes, the men's room BTW: AbsoF@&!%inglutely GROSS. I'd compare it to the Travel America Truck Stop I used in Ohio, only a lot smaller and more occupied -_- So, I leave right... 2 blocks away I look at my instrument panel. They forgot to reset my maintenance light... WTF! Alright So I go back, drive into the bay, window down ready to talk to the nice lady at the counter when I hear some snarky "Oh he's back again? Ugh.... now what?" comment... Anyway so I ask about the light being left on, the nice lady got the tech who worked on my vehicle. He said he didn't know how to reset it... Well OH F$@&!ING KAY!!! Shouldn't you have IDFK? Maybe have told the customer this BEFORE sending them on their way? Or is it customary for them to just leave stuff that they can't figure out for the customer to deal with themselves? What's even BETTER is that that asked me to look in my owners manual. If it's that simple, why pray tell didn't THEY look in the manual (right next to the Service Book they DIDN'T fill out) and reset the light? Well, I looked whilst still in the bay sitting in my car... wasn't there. Called the service techs at Napleton Honda in Lansing, busy busy they'd call me back... So I did what anyone with a smart phone would do- I GOOGLED it. 3 minutes later, I'm doing it myself and telling them how to reset a 2013 Accord maintenance light. Seriously, I'm not even gonna bother coming back to this dealership, great that it's close by an they will honor the Contract I bought with the Napleton dealer I bought my car at but, with the experience I had and the waiting and the damn light bs... I just don't feel like my car would be taken care of and serviced properly here. Oh and in regards to that snarky comment when I drove in the second time... Don't worry kid... I should have listened to my first mind, but no, I thought I was smart and decided to take my ride to Napleton because it was close....all in the name of convenience. The driver's side rear seat release cable (inside) malfunctioned. I didn't have an appointment so I expected to wait or get turned away. Well, I ended up waiting for over three hours for a bogus service write up. Can u believe they had the nerve to TRY to charge me over $1200 to replace & install the part! My husband has bought 3 cars from this place (two when they were still Towne and Country). We've used both the Nissan and Volvo service department and won't be going back. After several issues (at different times) we finally decided that the quality and price weren't worth it. Also found out that not all their techs are certified Volvo techs. We now go to M&M Auto for service on our vehicles. He is located in Merrillville. Excellent value for the money at M&M's. We found him to be a very honest mechanic. What's now "Napleton Auto Werks" was once "Stan Mize Town and Countree" and the change was not necessarily a good one. I've bought 2 new cars from the place; one under Stan Mize and one with Napleton. Both occasions, I haggled to get invoice pricing. Granted, the cars were new revisions at the time, and they were hot and in short supply (2002 Altima SE and 2004 Maxima SE). When it came time to buy the Maxima (then under Napleton name), I was sent an advertisement for a particular model with certain options for a certain price - they refused to sell it to me when I got there. Classic bait and switch; boy was I pissed. The sales mgr at the time wouldn't meet with us to talk about it; he kept sending the salesman back and forth. While car sales staff tend to suffer from high turnover, the service staff has also changed quite a bit. It certainly hasn't gotten any better on the Nissan end... I'd take my cars there every month religiously for oil changes (we put on a lot of miles), and I'd used to be able to drive in and out with the oil changed and the car washed (free service) in around 30-45 minutes (with appt); now I drop it off around 8:30 AM and come back during lunch. On at least 5 seperate occasions, no car wash - I have to ask for one. The parts counter seems to be manned by people who know as much about the cars as a 4th grader would: Not much... When asked about replacing part of the headlight assembly for my Altima, I received only blank stares and "there's no such part" - much to my surprise since I managed to mangle the particular part (a retention clip) when replacing a bulb... To their service department's credit; they did replace a worn belt outside of the 3/36 warranty period for me on the Altima and replaced a fog lamp (that keeps going out) outside of the 3/36 warranty period on the Maxima for me... read more

I purchased a 2000 V40 Station Wagon and thought it would be my last car. I heard they do last forever. From the very beginning I had problems with the electrical system and for the 11 years I owned the car 85% of the time the check engine light was on. This called for a diagnostic check every two years so I could get clearance to get my tags. There was never anything wrong with the car, but Napleton Volvo charged $1,200 to fix the check engine light. They did replace a part I didn't need, otherwise the service department was ok. I just would never buy another Volvo and I tell anyone who asks to do the same read more

this place took advantage of us. they sold us a used car. it was undetailled. the salesman said it would be delivered detailed the next day. it did not show up. at closing time I got though to a manager it was delivered late undetailled . my wife drove it the e next day to. Multiple times we have taken our cars there to "give them another chance" and every time since there has been an issue. One of the worse service departments I have had to deal with so far. We bought a new Volvo with the promise of great service (even was told they would pick up our car and drop off a loaner) once the sale was done they couldn't care less about the customer. I went in to get a fender fixed that they promised as part of the sale, it came out worse than before. I asked to speak with someone in charge and they said they were busy but would call me. They never called back even after I left messages. Fast forward to our first service, called to make an appointment and the soonest available was 2 weeks out and they couldn't give a loaner. Fine Ill just take the day off, well the day before they called and told me they canceled my appointment and rescheduled for 3 weeks later! I was not happy to say the least so I asked to speak with the service manager, surprise he wasnt available. I was promised he would call me back, he never did. I emailed the salesman and the sales manager who I dealt with to share my displeasure and hopefully maybe they can speak with service, but those emails were also ignored. I visited several Volvo Dealerships within the Chicagoland and I deem Napleton to be one of the better. The Napleton team was very responsive to my email inquiries. After quickly receiving answers to all my questions, I scheduled an in-person visit. I was very surprised. All the persons I worked with at the dealership were outgoing and like-able. My one and only yelp complaint is that I cannot give this place ZERO stars. The absolute WORST car dealership I have ever dealt with in my life. After hammering out every detail on a car we went to purchase this weekend here we ended up leaving after being handed the old bait and switch. We were given an exact price, exact rate, monthly payment, etc., by the floor manager and after 3 hours of waiting (and being told every 10 minutes it would just be another minute) we walked into the finance manager's office and everything changed. The manager who quoted us everything disappeared, the payment became impossible and the warranty totally different. To add insult to injury after walking away from the deal the salesman got back in touch with us the following day and agreed to get the deal done. He asked me to return that day at 5:30 to test drive the car as they were replacing the tires. When I arrived I was told to wait in the waiting area. After sitting there for 20 minutes a manager comes up and tells me that they decided they would lose too much on the car and they were sending it out to an auction. I have never EVER been treated so terribly and so insensitive to my time and convenience as a customer. I hope no one reading this will subject themselves to this dealership. I bought a used 2017 Volvo XC 60 from them . The car smells after being washed several times. I finally realized the smell was coming from the vents. I came back to the dealership a few days later to try to get something different. They told so many lies concerning the other cars on the lot. They went so far to tell me that Volvo would never make a touch screen because of safety concerns. I researched it and found the Volvo 2018 has a touch screen . Having purchased two cars from this place, I have been here numerous times for maintenance and oil changes. The sales guys are OK, but the Nissan service has been degraded from 5 stars to 2! They guarantee 30 minute oil changes with a car wash, but lately, I've never been outta there under 40. It seems like the employees aren't very happy because every time I go back there is a different service manager, so I have to explain all of my issues over and over... Plus they just can't seem to fix this smell of gasoline when I use my defroster. They get an extra star because they've fixed a couple minor things for me that were out of warranty. read more

But when it came to talking numbers he was pushed out of the equation. In swooped the sales manager, who came off very impressed w himself and arrogant, after the way he spoke to my wife and me. I almost laughed when he said, "yeah we don't come down off sticker on the GL." Obviously it was thanks but no thanks. Even more laughable (and kind of a middle finger) was when he said "how about $500 off sticker?" Stood up, thanked Brandon, and politely left. Unless they make a hell of an offer, (which they won't), they've lost my potential business. Dear Mr. Napleton I just thought I might reach out to you regarding several experiences I have had (and referrals of mine) at Mercedes Benz of Schererville of which you, (I am assuming) are the proud owner. I think there are some things that you need to know, and roll up your sleeve perhaps even grab a glass of your favorite whiskey because this is gonna get good. Before you fail to take me seriously, look me up. My name is Christen Dargan, I purchased a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder from you in May 2014, and subsequently traded it in less than a year later for a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder in January. Both deals were coincidentally handled by Fabian Brooks btw whom is/was phenomenal in terms of Customer Service and execution of a speedy, thorough process. Both purchases were handled with extreme care and professionalism with a side of expediency. That is a FAR CRY from what happens on the Euro side of your complex (Jaguar, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz) sadly even though the level of quality those brands are known for. Of the most recent and disappointing is a personal friend I sent there who purchased a 2011 Honda Odyssey for his family. Justin Broccardo and Magdalena Villa-Gomez (The buyers) purchased this vehicle under the guidnce of Matt Milla and Rick (Finance Manager whom secured financing, billed out deal). The vehicle was purchased (atleast delivered) on a Saturday near the end of February, actually the 2nd to last Saturday in February. The vehicle had actually been traded in that day by the previous owner (I know because I was there seemingly buying a 2012 ML 350, which wait a minute I will get too) To this day that vehicle has yet to be taken in by MB of Schererville and given the basic treatments I'm assuming you would give any car you purchase from a buyer, (Used car inspection and complete detail) much less one THAT WAS ACTUALLY SOLD to a customer. Ridiculous that Mr. Broccardo and his family keep getting the run around as if it's no longer the dealers problem. What if the car had an under-lying issue that made it un safe? How about severe frame or structuial damage? I am assuming that these things are basic services provided to any customer, however sadly Mr. Broccardo has not received them and I find that terrible considering I am typing this to you today on May 10th 2015. Terrible that I get reminded what a horrible buying experience he had at a dealer 40 miles from his home in Illinois that I referred him too. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering my own PERSONAL experiences with Euro-Napleton in Schererville. Where do I start? I inquired of a 2013 ML 350 (Palladium Silver, 16K miles in your inventory back in fall of 2014)in lieu of some great CPO incentives Mercedes-Benz was offering and I had positive views of the dealer considering my Pathfinder deal (albeit from Nissan side of the complex) went smoothly. I had a personal friend of 15 years (Tre' White) who worked there and he spoke well of Michelle Metz (Whom billed out my Pathfinder) and her ability to get deals bought due to her impressive talents and relationships with the banks. After running my credit Michelle advised that I wait until my score was better, or perhaps have a significant (5K or more) down payment. So, eager to buy my precious ML (I really love that thing since it's refresh in 2012) I put a plan in place to acquire the needed funds. I actually was ready in November and again reached out to Tre READY TO PURCHASE. I was brought to the dealer 2 times by Tre' and shown several cars that I was told would work but would be difficult to get funded. Why? Things had changed drastically, The idiots running your dealer had managed to run Mrs. Metz away from the building and there was no longer a game changer running finance. I've always been treated well by these guys. Gary is typically the guy I've been with recently during my visits, and I've been very happy with his performance. They've been very good about everything and my car always is washed and clean when I get it back.
