Nice person but was unable to fix the issue and never returned to finish the job of patching up holes in ceiling and walls. Stopped communicating and never came back. Charged a decent amount of money without resolution or completion and left things in poor condition. Update: In response to David's comments that I, unfortunately, missed a few facts. I apologize, here they are... There was not "another" leak, it was the same leak. The ceiling should have been opened the first time to check for the leak yet you said you wanted to take the "least destructive" path and patch "a couple" of tiles in the shower. Then you scraped & repainted the ceiling and it leaked through again within a week. And yes, when you came back and opened the ceiling this time, there were ants because ants are drawn to and thrive in moisture and there was a leak - ergo the reason we called you in the first place. You cut a large hole in the ceiling and then 2 large holes in the bathroom wall and said you couldn't find a leak and then said "Sorry, my fault, I missed a spot patching the tile and fixed it and it should now be good" You ran the shower for about 1 -2 minutes; no leak noticed and patched the walls and ceiling and "slathered" spackle over them. You didn't have time to let it dry because it was so thick. You said you would be back to add another coat of spackle when it dries and smooth the surface because one coat was not enough for the size holes. I said that would be great and you did not need to repaint it, but I would appreciate it if you could finish the patch and smooth it to a paintable condition and I would paint it. And you said "no charge" since it was your fault. David never returned. He answered my texts two weeks in a row saying he would try to get back that week but didn't show and never texted with an update. That was well over a month ago. There are plenty of nice comments on here and like I said David seems to be a nice guy but this was to warn that if you have a leak from an unknown source, need large holes patched or need to have a job done in a reasonable amount of time, he is probably not your guy. David, yes you said you would fix it for free since it was your fault you missed the grout in shower area in the first place, however, once you returned to complete, I planned to pay additional for your time and effort. As it turned out, my son visited from out of state and looked and said the "entire" corner of the shower should be re-grouted or it will leak again which he did for us while visiting or it would probably be leaking again. read more

Dave is simply amazing!! The blind on my bathroom window is old and not in good shape. This is the bathroom I use for showering so the blind matters. The blind accidentally got pulled up, and no matter what I did I could not get it down to save my life. Dave to the rescue! The day he was supposed to pass by the home, he was a bit late, but he maintained communication via text. When he saw the projects, he offered his insights. He seemed very knowledgable and professional. Before leaving, he took pictures along with the measurements of the project. He said he was going to provide quotes based on different materials. He committed to have the quotes within the next few days. He did say, "feel free to reach out if you see that I am taking long." A few days passed, I reached out (as he instructed). Dave possesses a variety of areas of expertise. I recently used Dave for a bigger project in my home. My second-floor tenant's bathroom was outdated and run down, to say the least. He completely gutted and re-modeled the entire bathroom. There is no project too small or too big for Dave. A few of the tasks he has completed for me are a basic hanging of a few pictures, completely building a kitchen in an unfinished basement, redoing laminate flooring in a tenant's home, replaced a large bay window, designed a fireplace to heat a basement, opened up a load-bearing wall, and made an emergency house call for a leaking sink. My wife and I recently purchased a new home in northern NJ and we were referred to Dave by a mutual acquaintance. It was very important to us that we get someone experienced, being as how we just made such an important, large investment. We needed to replace sliding doors that go out to our pool area, fix the roof, and finish our basement; we also had several other "odd" jobs, that Dave and his crew thoroughly completed on a tight timetable and at a fair price. The poolside sliding doors I mentioned above, were an especially important to replace. In addition to replacing the doors, the source of an active leak, allowing water from the door's framework to enter our basement, had to be discovered and fixed during the process. To complete the basement, Dave's team had to first put their masonry skills to work, by completely leveling the very uneven existing concrete floor. We also had Dave widen our stairway leading to the basement so we could fit a larger washer/dryer & fridge in our cellar. Lastly, we needed additional zone piping laid, and zone valves changed on our Utica furnace. Dave's expertise on both materials and finishes were paramount to our decision making process.
