Maryland Chicken is not only cheaper but I have found the quality to be just as good as more expensive fried chicken outlets (including KFC). There are plenty of options, including some delicious spicey chicken options. It can get busy here at peak times and at weekends, due to the popularity of the place, but turnaround is always very quick and even at the busiest times I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes. They put it into a box, stratifying the contents (so it goes rice then lamb then naan then chicken then chutney, usually) and you go home and eat it. The institute is quite simplya cheaper version of KFC and it seems to definately be doing the trick. The outlet is incredibly small and I felt very choked for air as we vbattled through the crowds but the staff handled it exceptionally well still managing to serve you with a smile and a bit of conversation. The prices are extremely good and whilst one might think the food was dodgy it actually tastes wonderful. I wouldn't eat there everyday because I do without a lunchtime flattening but its definately a place worth checking out when you're in Leicester.
