Nando's in Leicester's Highcross is one of the few branches they have around the city, it is probably the largest and with that comes the busiest. I came here before watching Manchester City defeat Leicester 1-0 at the King Power Stadium.
Considering how busy it was, my food was pretty good and after the long wait to get my table and order, the food did come out pretty fast after that. I liked how the manager seemed friendly and cooked my food to minimise cross-contamination, and he also checked my order in the allergy guide to making sure it was gluten-free. I ordered my usual Medium Chicken Butterfly with Peri Chips and Spicy Rice.
The other staf, on the other hand, didn't always seem too friendly, there were some staff just in a circle talking to each other even though the store was really busy: I mean, I get it if the stores quiet and they're just bored and when a customer comes in they pay attention to the customer, but it was a busy restauraunt and they didn't seem to care.
I was also confused, shocked and annoyed that a restauraunt this large in a city centre could run out of pepper - this meant my chips tasted bland, they really did need pepper and it was a disgrace they didn't have it: let alone the fact they aren't going to have any in for multiple days. I mean, how can such a key seasoning run out? Why aren't they keeping on top of ordering? Why can't they go to another Nando's store in Leicester and borrow some?
In terms of food quality, a pretty good Nando's in the city centre of Leicester making it a good addition to Highcross, the large restauraunt means even if there is a waiting time for a table it shouldn't take too long but still the fact that a restauraunt this size can run out of pepper really is poor planning and poor management. 3* read more
