I feel I have experienced discrimination due to the lack of knowledgeable staff here. I was wrongfully told I was unable to volunteer due to a non existing background check that was never performed on behalf of Good Shepherd. I was set for a meeting at 130 PM on a Tuesday and was informed to not show up on that same day at 0900 AM via email in which I was unaware of The email until later that evening. (After the meeting) I met with Amy and proceeded with the meet and greet and tour of the facility. As Amy mentioned nothing about the email she posted at 0900 AM, she then decided "I will go forward with your background check." With the intent, I have decided to be a blessing elsewhere and to provide my volunteer services as I have been a volunteer with hospice on and off for the past 7 years. I do not feel as if the compassion, grace and kindness was presented here at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan Kansas.

He was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. My family and I were given every courtesy, afforded privacy, and were treated as if we were a welcome guest in a private home. The hospice was clean, beautifully decorated, quiet and every effort was made to make family members welcome. The time we spent at Hospice House with my father was brief, however we were never rushed or made to feel like we were imposing; a fine group of professional and compassionate health professionals made my fathers last days bearable.

He was very comfortable with handling a baby and explained everything to me prior to adjusting him. I left his office with a brand new baby! All his problems and more solved and you could tell he was immediately more comfortable and happy. I also saw him for myself because I'm a marathon runner and running post pregnancy was too painful. After two visits I had no more issues with running. He fixed problems I didn't even know I had until they were gone. The Sloan house is managed not to provide the best care but minimal care. As I would say "She puts a pretty cover on the book but once you open the pages and look it is a horror story!"
