After an unsatisfying dinner, we wanted bingsu for dessert. We made the short walk over to Namu Café, a Korean spot that specializes in bingsu. We dropped in on a Sunday evening (around 8:45pm) and it wasn't busy. There's plenty of seating inside along with a couple tables along the sidewalk. It's self service so go up to the counter when you're ready to order. There's a small water jug too. Music was enjoyable with a mix of oldies and Norah Jones. The menu consists of drinks (coffee, tea, specials and cold), Korean toast, a few cakes and bingsu. - Mango bingsu (€8,90) - slightly smaller than a normal bingsu but good quality. Shaved ice had an excellent texture (light but creamy), good amount of mangoes (careful, they're frozen), a scoop of mango ice cream and even a second layering of mango underneath. Pleasantly surprised by the bingsu at NC. Worth a visit!

FOOD & DRINKS I came here just for the bingsu and ordered the classic one with red beans. You could say it is pretty expensive since it is basically just shaved ice with a bit of topping. The ice itself was very soft and flaky. It just melts the moment it touches your tongue. Really really good shaved ice. I also like the red beans. They were not too sweet. Just the perfect amount of sweetness overall. There was a scoop of read beans on top and a thin layer in the middle. SERVICE The place was pretty full when I came in. I got myself seated and ordered at the counter since none of the staff members went around to take orders. They only bring the order to your table and sometimes you see the owner taking care of the place. One thing I really like was the free tap water as self service close to the kitchen / staff door. Otherwise service was pretty basic. ATMOSPHERE The seating situation is very narrow. There is absolutely not a lot of space unused I dare to say. If possible try to get one of the wooden tables for the Korean aesthetic feel. The white tables don't look that great. RATING I understand that they want to get as many customers into this cafe as possible but it comes at a price. It has less charm and it can get pretty loud. That said they offer some good items and when seated at the right table, it can be quite enjoyable here. If they can improve some things here and there, I can easily give them at least a four star rating. Even with the current rating, I recommend this location. There are not that many options available anyway. Compared to other bingsu cafes I have been, I just can't justify more than three stars.

Best Patpingsu (Korean shaved ice) ever, and the first and only Patpingsu Cafe that I've been to in Germany. The ice is really soft and fine like snow and the toppings were delicious. We tried the mango ice and matcha ice and they were so good- even better than what I've had in Korea or the US. The service was really friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere is cute and hipster. I highly recommend this cafe for dessert or coffee. Will definitely be visiting again.

I love this cafe! Bingsu is such a nostalgic dessert, amazing for the hot months. Friendly staff. Free wifi too, which is rare in Germany. Lots of young people come here to study or work.

After a year in Korea I wanted to introduce this famous dessert: Patbingsu *without beans* to my friends...so tasty! Nice place to go like in Korea! Be ready to share!!! Like it!

Such a nice place! My friends and I had had our breakfast there every morning and we really enjoyed taking our time and enjoying the music and our food and coffee! The owners are really nice and the coffees were on point!

Warum ist das entscheidend? 1) die Portion fallen deutlich kleiner aus. Da der Franchisenehmer in diesem Fall wahrscheinlich auf seine Marge achten muss. 2) der Geschmack ist deutlich fader. For my taste it was a tad too sweet but I think it comes down to your combination and personal preference. The frozen yogurt had just the right amount of tartness. Not too much that it would overpower the other ingredients. There are quite a few options to choose from when you have to pick the toppings and sauces for your fresh waffle. I am very glad to say that the toppings I had still tasted fresh. Some items like Knoppers can taste like sweet cardboard when they sit there too long. SERVICE The staff there was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately when we sat down, the tables were a bit dirty and one had leftovers from previous customers. I think that even at busy times you need to take a few minutes to clean a table when a customer decides to sits down. ATMOSPHERE It is a small, hip and trendy location. Three tables inside and a bench outside. RATING I like the addition of the bubble waffle and rice pudding close to winter time. With the exception of the dirty table I can't complain. All the items they offer are of good quality.

We were passing through Düsseldorf for half a day and saw they're known for their Japanese food, so we decided to check out Takumi! They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. AJITAMA TONKOTSU RAMEN: I'm a tonkotsu person and almost always order this over other types of ramen. Not sure if I was just so severely deprived of Asian food, but I felt Takumi's tonkotsu ramen ranked pretty high on my list! And coming from SoCal as well as having lived down the street from both major Japanese food hubs in Los Angeles, that's saying a lot! Good amount of pork, the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture, and the broth was rich without being overly salty. I don't usually enjoy other types of ramen so I can't speak for those items from their menu. But I slurped my entire bowl of tonkotsu ramen dry! KARAAGE: Large pieces with crispy exterior and super juicy interiors! I wasn't expecting much but in the end I was super happy we ordered this. Overall, amazing tonkotsu ramen located in Düsseldorf's Little Tokyo.
