Dr Nally passed away last week, but whoever said he was a quack is dead wrong. He has kept me going inspire of several medical conditions and serious surgeries over the last 14 years. The surgeries had nothing to do with him, but being diabetic on top of it...he kept me healthy enough to keep working and enjoying life. Nally Family Practice - Dr. Nally!! - Family Practice Near Me - Surprise, Arizona

I have been a patient at Nally Family Practice since 2021. I came to Dr. Nally first because he was one of the VERY few doctors listed who supported a low carb lifestyle. In fact, one of his nicknames or websites is "DocMuscles." He is well versed in this lifestyle and for me, has always been considerate and caring. Is he warm fuzzy, let's give everyone hugs? No, but I would not like that type of physician. He is no nonsense, straight forward. This, I respect immensely. Yes, he is very quick but he is intelligent so he is processing things much quicker than some of the people are complaining of. Even when I come in and I am feeling unwell and may not be functioning at my highest, speaking slowly, Dr. Nally takes the time to make sure I am understanding what he is recommending, what his diagnosis is, and WHY he got there. His front office staff has always been kind and nice to me. I've seen them also be nice to every other patient who comes to check in. The check-in time/waiting time, is no different than any other dr office. Meaning, sometimes there is a wait. Most times there isn't a bad wait. I've never once thought this is bad and I need to leave. As a matter of fact, I have never requested a refund of my co-pay which I have done at more than one dr's office because of how bad/long the wait time was. Whenever there is a wait, I also consider the age of most of his patients. Most of his patients are older and if these were my parents or grandparents, I would rather the dr or FNP take their time and spend the necessary time with them to make sure they got what they needed. I'm never offended by any wait. I've also seen Brittany Anderson, FNP multiple times. She is so nice, caring, and considerate. She takes time to chat and is super personable. She takes her time with you and as a patient, I feel this. She is a different person and different approach than Dr. Nally. I respect both of them and appreciate both of them. I moved to Scottsdale so this office is no longer close or convenient to me. I absolutely make the drive to see Dr. Nally and Brittany Anderson. There was never any question to me that I would keep coming here. Is it super out of my way? You bet. But again, absolutely worth it. Now, he no longer accepts insurance. He sent an email to his patients explaining why he wasn't accepting insurance. Medicare/Medicaid delayed payments, slow insurance reimbursements, etc. These things all made rational sense to me. This is a small office, no different than any other small business. Being dependent on a big company and the govt for pymt can negatively impact a business. It would seem the option was to close doors, fire staff, or stop accepting insurance, and go the way of offering direct primary care or concierge service. I wasn't going to do the direct primary care monthly option but life happens and I ended up choosing this option. I'm glad I did. Now, I can call and get pretty much a same day appointment because he has less patients, I believe. This definitely worked out to my benefit when my ear lobe was swollen and I was concerned and had a lot of push from friends/co-workers to go to the dr because it looked really bad. Turns out, I had cellulitis. This can turn serious and deadly quickly if not addressed. Dr. Nally addressed this quickly and got me on medication that day. I received a letter from UnitedHealthCare dated June 18, 2024 which stated Dr. Nally and Dr. Anderson (she's FNP, not MD. Mad respect for her but she's not an MD), we're closing their office on August 1, 2024. This is blatantly and verifiably false information. I called the insurance company and told them this was verifiably false information and they were spreading false information without any care or concern. Nally Family Practice is NOT closed. They simply are not accepting insurance. As long as this office is open, I will continue to pay out of my own pocket, and will continue to drive out of my way to see Dr. Nally and FNP Anderson. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Nally and FNP Anderson to anyone, especially when they observe a low carb/keto/carnivore lifestyle. Seeing a physician and FNP who support this lifestyle is critical because so many MDs/FNPs who don't support this lifestyle will tell you what you are eating is wrong and will cause harm. I'm not looking for a Dr to agree with me but I am looking for a Dr who will understand and more importantly has done the research into why this lifestyle is good for ME and for my health. Also on this lifestyle, Dr. Nally requests full labs every 6 months. We check cholesterol, A1C, hormones, and other things that are not normally requested by other Drs. I am grateful for having a full view of my bloodwork and hormones. It keeps me on track. If you live a low carb/keto/carnivore lifestyle, this is the office for you and it is absolute worth the price, which isn't very much. The pricing is transparent on the website. read more

I've been going here for 6 years now. When Dr. Nally changed to no longer accepting insurance I thought meh. I can deal. The original conversation with his patients and the letter sent out posted it at 10 min intervals for what's priced out. So I kept my appointment because I can pay $90 for 10 minutes. I'm only here for med refills so I'm a quick appointment. I've been dealing with something sinus wise for a bit and I was nervous to bring it up but somehow it fit within the 10 min visit so I spoke up since the med refill part was less than 5 minutes. I get to the front to pay and they're asking 190$ of my visit because of how he "coded it". What the hell happened to the 10 minute interval pricing. I asked about it and she said the lowest was 120$ which was a lie because I've been established and the document listed established lower end as $90 and she said "that's for nurse visits" EXCUSE ME??? I'm sorry but this is thievery and greed. I will be finding a new doctor and y'all can shove your money up your ass. read more

Dr Adam Nally is my primary care physician. He takes the time to listen to my concerns and gives solutions that are not necessarily driven by big pharma. He's not against using medication when needed but always offers alternative solutions also. My health and weight issues have improved greatly since I started seeing him. read more

I had been a patient of Dr Nally for 4 years. His care and responsiveness of he and his staff declined greatly over the past year. The app "Healow" that we are forced to utilize to request script refills seems to have a glitch. I had to take time out of my busy work day to follow up 2 or 3x to get refills. This happened over the span of several days. However he seems to find time to constantly post on social media so I don't know why he couldn't do his job and fill prescriptions. It's too bad because he was really very good at one time. Shari Nally (don't know how they're related) is his Office Manager (?) and was extremely rude in every occasion I had to interact with her. He knows what he's talking about and his approach is based purely on science. He is a very dedicated professional who is current and up-to-date. Dr. Nally is dismissive. His front office however, is TERRIBLE!!! Dr. Nally has a new system where he no longer takes insurance and members have to pay a monthly due. Care is urgent and necessary for me, when I asked the front office if she could recommend a Primary Dr this lady really said she cannot do that because why would they be giving business away!!!! This just proves that they DO NOT care about their patients health needs at all and only the money coming in. Terrible waits (45-60 minutes past your appointment time typically). Terrible office staff/administration - billing was always difficult; a very important timed dosage of medication was screwed up even though I reconfirmed many, many times. I have very mixed emotions regarding Dr. Nally. He is truly a Master in his field. He is unmatched in knowledge and wisdom on the human body and a real Genius when it comes to reversing Diabetes! His Keto Cure has changed my life. I started out loving Dr. Nally, however, after dealing with his abrupt rudeness if I emailed or called (which was rare) on a few occasions, then his total lack of care or interest when I suffered an acute kidney failure situation and his obvious disinterest of me as a Patient, I lost trust, completely. The final straw, was a misunderstanding of his reasons for no longer taking insurance and he told me I should find another doctor. That shocked me! Before I get to the negatives, I'll say the Physicians assistant I met with was polite and professional. Now the horrible part was with scheduling, front office communication, billing, and processing. I get a physical every year to save a significant amount on my health care premiums. Last year (2016) my wife was required to get hers as well and she was 6 months pregnant at that time. My company pays 100% of the preventative care physicals and require 1 sheet of paper be filled out with, height, weight, waist, BMI and some basic lab work results. I had to return to the office three times and to obtain the filled out sheet which they repeated lost and tried to charge me for. They almost cost me over $300 per paycheck by missing the deadline. Yesterday, a year later, they called and told my wife she had her new patient appointment at 3:30 that day. She wouldn't be a new patient and we never scheduled an appointment for her. Actually, I forgot to write this review year but the rude office staff that called and told her she had an appointment reminded me. I hope the medical staff is as good as the the other reviews say but I'll NEVER go through the frustration dealing with the office staff again. I expect a call from them any day reminding me I need to pay them for rotating my tires...they're clueless! read more

Beware there are some big problems with this office . We were looking for a Dr familiar with IF (intermittent fasting). There are several in town, Dr Nally being one. We had to ask about new patient paperwork and were referred to a web page. Red Flag #1 This webpage said the office did cosmetic surgery. We wanted a Dr who focused on health and have experienced problems with Drs who spread their focus to include things other than health. They seemed to offer a lot of services you would pay for out if pocket that Drs normally don't sell.' Having veterinarian friends I recognized the tactics they used to increase their profits (eg add on items to sell) being used here. Again what is the focus. Red Flag #2 The new patient paoerwork says you MUST give the Drs office your social security information and to call if you didn't want to do that. I called and said we never give that out to prevent fraud problems. The office said your insurance requires it (a flat out lie, furthermore your SSN can not be used for identification purposes according to a llfederalmlawmpassednover 20 years ago). I told them my insurance didn't require social security numbers - they didn't even have it. I was told to hold to speak to the office manager.' The same gal came back on a couple minutes later and said the information was incorrectly started - it should have said if you don't provide your social security number they can refuse you service. (Eg You go there but they won't see you). The only reason someone wants your social security number is to do a credit check or file a collections report on you - which one is to us Dr planning to use yours for? Red Flag #3. Between making the appointment and calling Re the paperwork, I checked out some of the videos on the Drs web page. While he talked about needing to lower BG/insulin by not eating sugars or foods that creates insulin reactions, he had recipes full of the sugars he was telling his patients not to eat (and other foods that raised Insulin high). He also had a couple questionable areas of his web page, including a big rant that basically said men were soft men and not manly and suggested they become skilled in fighting and killing (hunting). Not a Dr I would recommend to anyone wanting to improve their health. There are a lot of choices out there we have been talking to two others and will pursue working with one of them. read more

I've been coming to this doctor for years, very professional and I am always confident I get the right diagnosis. Recently I just figured out due to the coverage of my insurance, I did not have to pay a cop pay whenever I had an appointment. Their office owes me over $100 dollars just in co pay fees. I am waiting for figure out how much my fiancé owes now as well. They should know better to check and see per individual visiting instead of just assuming everyone has to pay. I have been a patient of Dr. Nally for about 5 years with a break of a year when my insurance changed. I LOVE this Dr! I feel like I am more than a patient. If you are just looking for a pill to take this is not the Dr. For you. He works hard to find the underlying cause of medical problems. He spends time and talks to you about how you are feeling etc. I don't feel like I am being rushed. I have seen all the Drs in this practice and while I love Dr nally the best they are all great. The office staff is also great at what they do, they are nice and warm. It is sometimes hard getting in and sometimes they run late but I don't mind knowing that he is taking care of his patients not just sitting in back relaxing. read more

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Nally and PA Brad Hall for 3 years now and have not had any problems. I love that this office supports a healthy low carb lifestyle, they even offer diet and education classes for their patients as well as some products. I feel like they are really trying to address obesity, which is a major health problem in our society. However, since they are a family practice they do see children and even do women's care but I choose to use a pediatrician and an ob/gyn for these services.
