Bring your own food and drinks and let Captain and the mate do all the heavy lifting. The views are amazing and you're in deep blue ocean only a couple miles off the coast. There's chances for all Hawaiian island sport fishing species. We went in March and were able to see Humpback Whales breaching. Captain Tony was able to locate some fertile fishing grounds and we had countless hookups. The boat is large and kid friendly. My son was ecstatic and my dad got to relive the trips he took with my grandfather growing up in Southern California and on trips to Mexico. It was very special. We caught a barracuda and two fat tunas on a four-hour trip. My mom and I hung out and enjoyed the spectacularly beautiful leeward coast of Oahu, such a gorgeous day. My mom said she doesn't remember the last time she felt so relaxed. I was holding my nine-month-old daughter the whole time and I felt very safe and comfortable posted up on the shaded second level of the boat. I felt sea sick for the first half an hour or so of the trip, but Tony was so careful and accommodating, it went away. Anyway. This was a big deal for our family, an excellent experience, and I highly recommend!

The crew were very knowledgeable about the different sea life (such as dolphins and whales) that tend to appear. The boat ride itself is a bit rocky and it can be very easy to get seasick. However, there are lots of places to sit and lay down, and the crew provides free food + unlimited non-alcoholic drinks for all passengers! On the day I went, I got a buttered biscuit and some fruit for breakfast, and a pesto sandwich for lunch. Near the end of the boat ride, passengers are able to jump into the water and are provided flotation devices. I thought it was pretty cool that you can jump directly off the boat! (The crew cares about your safety and will brief you on water safety before you get into the water). All in all, the view of the ocean is super pretty and I was able to see dolphins multiple times on this trip! I'd recommend local residents and tourists to take a trip out into the water like this at least once in your life.

Pros; * great crew with great attitudes. Willingness to assist. * spinner dolphins spotted. 100% guaranteed as the dolphins are indigenous to Hawaii. They never leave. * breakfast & lunch served. Breakfast was fruit and a tiny biscuit. Lunch was a veggie wrap with bag of chips. * two drink tickets. But lenient. I went with a draft IPA with my first ticket. Passed on my second drink. Cons: * as a non-swimmer I think more emphasis on use of snorkel equipment was necessary. And more discussion on safety. * they put out a blue floating mat but it wobbled due to current. * add more floatation options - I've been on snorkel trips where there's been a floatation view box; snorkel vests for rent, etc. Pro or Con - it's how you look at it. Most seating was on the two nets in the front of the catamaran. Which meant you either sat up or laid down on it. But no back support. Having said all that it was a fun experience with room for improvement. Heads up - shoeless requirement. We had to put our shoes in a storage box at the marina. Upon our return a crew member lined up our shoes for retrieval.

We left without buying anything. Told her - Yes, auntie of course, we live right up the road. SMH - customer service fail. It's sad because uncle Derrick had a really nice place; my daughters used to get all their supplies here for surfing and bodyboarding, they did jr lifeguards every year, various meets, the Grom, etc. I also asked some friends about our recent experiences there and several of them said that they have had similar experiences there recently. The last time we told uncle Derrick about the way she talked to us before we left, it doesn't seem to have made an impact. We probably won't be back again.

Yes on the beach there are tents full of homeless people. If you lived in Hawaii without any help from the government and you would be homeless too because the inflation of everything. Before we got here we read a lot of things about people breaking into cars and stuff like that... Well tell you what I have never in my life had issues with people breaking into my car because I do not let myself be a victim! If you leave stuff in your car you're just opening the door for opportunity. Let me start by telling you the pros of this condominium.... The gate to the hotel parking lot requires a key fob... Then you have to use the key fob to get in to the steel gate to the actual condos... Then you need the key Fob to get you into the elevator... Then to get to your actual condo you need a key. There is security from 3 PM to sometime in the morning. The out side of the condos have been worn down from normal seaside wear and tear but are structurally intact. The elevator was very clean, the outside was clean and my condo was absolutely stunning. (We rented ours out through an AirBNB ad and it was the best thing ever). The beach is never busy always clean and crystal clear. The waves are a little rough at times near the shore it's perfect for inner tubes Rafes stuff like that... And once you get past the edge of the waves it's pretty calm and you could snorkel. The cons- This condo is a bit a ways away from large retail stuff like target Walmart Costco... It's only a short distance but because of traffic it takes a little bit longer than you like about 50 minutes to get into Honolulu 35 minutes to get to Costco. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a nice getaway from all the chaos of Hawaii :)

One note: it was windy and I had to leave after an hour or so because the sand was whipping around and made it sadly not the best experience. Overall, a beach well worth the visit on the West side if you're looking for an approachable, easy beach.
