I've only been coming to Drs Nakamura and Mitoma for a couple of years but I absolutely love it here. The staff and environment are so welcoming. My two young children (6 and almost 3) are also patients. The dentist can be a very intimidating place for kids. The staff are so great with them. They tell them everything they're doing before they do it, they show them any tools they're going to use before using them. My 6 yr old used to sob at dentist appointments because she was nervous. She just had 2 cavities filled this morning with Dr Nakamura and I honestly couldn't imagine having a dental appointment go any better. Very nice dental office. Even though I'm not in the area anymore and have my cleaning elsewhere, I still rely upon their expertise for anything serious like a crown or a filling repair. When things go right you're kind of afraid to go anywhere else. I can't say anyone looks forward to going to the dentist, but they certainly make it as pleasant as possible and always take the time to make sure that everything fits right and especially with the crowns, which may take a little longer on a single visit, but the good news is you don't have to keep coming back from multiple visits because they get it right the first time. read more

This office has been my go to for many years. Dr Nakamura is amazing. She checks in with me constantly to see if I have any discomfort, and she explains what she is doing, no surprises! Doctors Nakamura & Mitoma are great! My wife & I have been going to their office for decades. I have had to overcome dentist fears I've had since childhood. I am always surprised by how low the pain level is with the techniques they use. Even then, I still white-knuckled the chair arms... until they introduced me to nitrous oxide. Let me preface this by saying the dentists and hygienist were actually pretty good and I would probably still go there had I not had multiple issues with the "office manager"/receptionist/billing person (Sylvia). She either is very bad at her job or is a shady employee trying to take advantage and fraudulently charge patients. I had 3 major issues, all dealing with finances. I've filed a dispute/grievance with delta dental for Sylvia trying to charge me out of pocket due to her negligence or incompetence. When I brought this to her attention, she hung up on me and I have yet to hear back from anyone else in this office. Steer clear unless you have cash burning a hole in your pocket. If you're in the central valley this is a great dental office to go to. Everyone here is an asset to the establishment; everyone is kind, respectful and actually seem to like their jobs. Apparently this office and staff have been here for quite some time, over a couple decades if I'm not mistaken. There was no pre-screening exam required which is totally annoying that a lot of other dental offices push and or require, no up-selling or scare-tactic selling (seems to happen when you have existing amalgam fillings), just a good old fashion dental office where you get the service you're seeking with a smile. Sylvia, the receptionist is very helpful and kind, she got me in quick and managed to get my cleaning and exam on the same visit. Debbie was my hygienist, she did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. She listened to my concerns about sensitive areas on my gums and cleaned accordingly. She did a very thorough job and connected with me on my concerns regarding teethe, gum care and everything else we chatted about. Dr. Mitoma did a thorough job examining my teethe, he gave me his honest opinion on the status of my teethe and gums. There was no up-selling motive on his part as I've seen with other dentists out here in Tracy that I will not mention on this review. He took the time to explain why my gums are receding and answered my other questions and concerns I had. This dental office has restored my faith in good old fashion dentistry out here in the valley. After leaving my Union City family dentist a year and a half ago, it has been an absolute nightmare finding a new one that was comparable. Great job team, keep up the good work! read more

Finding a good dentist who is honest, straight forward and has patients welfare as his prime concern is like finding a needle in the hay stack. Most dentists are like hungry greedy sharks. I interviewed more than six dentists before I met with Doc Edward Mitoma. Not only he is a great dentist, he knows how to take care of his patients. He listens with patience and will attend to your needs. I have had major work done with him. His staff has been working with him for pretty long and understand him well. Today I got a crown done in a single appointment as she has a machine that makes the crown while you are there. No more temporary! We have been seeing Dr. Nakamura for four years now and have been very satisfied with her work. My teenage daughter has some anxiety issues and on our last visit was terrified to have some small cavities filled. Even though in my opinion my daughter was being extremely difficult, Dr. Nakamura took the time to talk with her and calm her down. After about 10 minutes she was able to relax enough to have her procedure done. To be honest, I don't know many dentists who would have had that much patience!
