I found Najee to be a great coach that listened, was thoughtful, accommodating, understanding, and flexible with schedule shifts, and had did a fantastic job of getting the most out of me during each session. I started working with Najee shortly after our first child was born, in an attempt to get back into some semblance of shape. My wife had found Najee pre-pandemic to help get in shape for our wedding. After our child was born, we both decided it was time to get back into shape. I'm a professor of Exercise Science, so I have a high bar when it comes to allowing someone else to design a fitness program for me. In my experience, Najee blends a high level of knowledge and curiosity with an impressive capability to read individuals and keep them motivated as they move out of their comfort zone. My wife and I are motivated very differently, yet Najee was able to keep each of us focused while also listening to the feedback we provided about how we were feeling about our workouts, both physically and mentally. Quick example of my results: I'm in my 40's now and after a couple months of focused work with Najee, I was snowboarding with more power and stamina than I had in the previous 10 years. I'd recommend him to anyone, whether you have a specific goal or not (I didn't at the time). Najee can work with you to help find what works best for you. read more

Best trainer around! I'd highly recommend his services. Whether you need to lose weight or build muscle Najee will get you to your goal!

I've been training with Najee for over a year, and I couldn't be happier with my results. He's not only an excellent trainer but also genuinely cares about his clients progress. His upbeat, jovial personality makes every session enjoyable, even when he's pushing me to my limits! I've gotten noticeably stronger, lost weight, and feel more confident in my body. He challenges me in the best way possible, firm but never harsh and always keeps me motivated. If you're looking for a trainer who truly knows what he's doing and makes fitness something you look forward to, I highly recommend Najee. read more

I have been working with Najee for over a year and he is, without a doubt, the best trainer I've ever had. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all things weight lifting, nutrition, recovery, and optimization of reaching your fitness goals. In sessions he has a calm and personable energy and pushes me past the comfortable bubble of working out which I used to live in. When I've had injuries or health issues come up, he easily accommodates workouts so I can still move my body in a safe way. Since working with Najee, my confidence to workout on my own in the gym has increased 100% and I feel like I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. He is a great teacher and is dialed in with showing you HOW to workout, not just setting up weights for you to lift during session. He plays great music and I am never bored with the workouts we do - always switching it up to hit all the muscle groups. I rave to all my friends about him and would recommend him to anyone!! read more

I have been training with Najee for several months and, as a busy mom, I appreciate having a trainer like him to help me prioritize ME! My mid-life body has its share of challenges and Najee is great at finding effective strength training exercises that work around them. I am getting stronger and I'm lifting heavier than I ever would have done on my own. read more

I've been training with Najee 2-3 times a week for the past two years, and he's hands down the best trainer I've ever worked with. In that time, I've built lean muscle, hit consistent PRs across every metric we track, and gained a ton of confidence in my training. Najee is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and understanding, but what really sets him apart is how motivating he is. He's also helped me recover from several injuries I sustained outside of our sessions, tailoring workouts so I could keep progressing safely. Whether you're brand new to strength training or already experienced, Najee knows how to meet you where you are. If you're nervous about lifting weights, he'll ease you in and, most importantly, teach you the correct form to minimize the chance of injury. I can't recommend him enough if you're looking to build a sustainable and effective training routine. read more

Working with Najee has been an absolute game-changer for me. From day one, it was clear how incredibly knowledgeable he is--not just about fitness, but about how to tailor workouts to fit my goals, lifestyle, and even my mood on a given day. His flexibility is unmatched; whether I needed to adjust my schedule and routine during business trips or modify an exercise due to an injury, Najee always had a thoughtful solution ready. What really sets Najee apart, though, is his personable nature. He brings such a positive, encouraging energy to every session that it makes even the toughest workouts feel more manageable. Somehow, he makes everything feel just a bit easier--less like a chore and more like something I genuinely look forward to. Najee's impact has been so strong (down 15% body weight) that now my wife and daughters train with him too. He's earned our trust as a coach and our admiration as a person. If you're looking for someone who can elevate your fitness journey and make it feel effortless, Najee is the one to call. read more

Training with Najee has truly been transfomative. I am stronger now than I've ever been, and I keep surprising myself with what I can do. He's super patient but also knows exactly how to push me in the right way so I get past my own limits. What I really appreciate is how he mixes things up. Every workout feels fresh, effective, and fun, and I get a break from my not so favorite exercises, so I don' t mind them when they come back around. He also gives great tips on nutrition and lifestyle, which really helps me take a holistic approach to my fitness. A bonus for me is that the music and energy are always on point. Since working with Najee, I've lost weight, gained muscle, and, most importantly, I feel more confident, strong, and agile. I couldn't ask for a better trainer. read more

Hands down one of the best trainers I've ever worked with and I've trained with many across the country. Najee delivers some of the hardest workouts you'll experience, but the results speak for themselves. What sets him apart is his thoughtful approach to programming and technique. You don't just see physical changes; you feel stronger, move better, and leave every session better than you came in. If you're serious about your fitness goals, Najee is your guy! read more

I have been training with Najee 2-3 times a week for almost a year now. My fitness goals were never focused on losing weight rather on gaining strength in order to feel strong in my body so I can keep up with my active lifestyle. I've struggled with back, neck and hip pain over the years. He made a plan for me based on these goals and with the training, I have never felt so strong in my life. Some of the major differences i've noticed since training include: -I have way more energy throughout my day to day life -no more back or hip pain -core strength is much stronger -started running (i'm not a runner) -able to perform better in dance -feel much more confident working out in a gym and doing workouts on my own I would highly recommend training with Najee. He makes you feel super comfortable and also provides great encouragement to go above and beyond to reach your goals. Without his training I know I wouldn't be where i'm at today in only a year. read more

I have been training with Najee for the past six months. My initial goal was weight loss, but I have accomplished much more with his guidance. After years of a sedentary lifestyle, I now embrace a vibrant, active life. Najee provided an approach for me that included meal plans, easy-to-follow daily workouts, and a focus on self-care.   He has proven to be an inspiring trainer who listens and strategically delivers a solid workout within our one-hour sessions. We are on target to attain my goal weight within the next 45-60 days! At that point, I look forward to setting new fitness goals with him. read more

I trained with Najee for almost 1 year and loved his approach and technique. He's very profesional and make sure you feel comfortable with the program and exercices. I was afraid and not comfortable to go to the gym and work out, he definitely was able to change my mindset! Special mention to the playlists he uses that were always on top :). read more

Najee is the best trainer I've ever experienced, I've lost unwanted weight and gained definition. Najee has been training me for over 6 years, he has been professional, consistent, and attentive. I highly recommend his services. read more

Where do I begin.....Najee is amazing at what he does! We were so lucky to have had found him at the peek of the pandemic. We worked out a sweet schedule 12:30 M W and F. We worked out outdoor as he came to our home. Occasionally we did his gym, but the row machine was killer so now my fav haha. Included in the workout was myself (late 30's), my husband (late 40's) and my sister in law (late 50's). We all did same warm up, but our workout were adjusted for each as needed. Cardio isn't my favorite but he finds a good way to bring the heart rate up and not over exert you. Boxing was one of my favs, you can request it wink wink. Overall Najee was a pleasure to have, he was puntual, respectful and totally serious about keeping us on track for the hour so that no time was wasted. If you're looking for a personal trainer in oakland, definitely reach out. His pricing is very fair too! What I also like about Najee is that he doesn't push a meal plan on you. He's realistic on having a life outside the kitchen. However when I did ask for a more strict diet he was able to provide and support me individually. read more

For Father's Day in 2020, as the birth of my first child approached and I lamented how I wasn't in shape despite working out 3-4 times per week, my wife bought me a pack of training sessions with Najee. I was a little skeptical, having never worked with a trainer before and believing that I could manage without one, but I went into it with an open mind. The sessions with Najee turned out to be one of the best gifts my wife has ever gotten me. In only 30 minutes sessions, 1 - 2 times per week, Najee got me into by far the best shape of my life. We focused on full body workouts with a particular emphasis on core. I found myself faster in my sprints, faster on my bike bike rides, able to climb a pole with strictly my arms, and less fatigued while playing racquetball. Najee kept the workouts fresh and unique, he was a voice of positive encouragement, a great person to talk to, and an informative trainer. He was flexible in where and when we met and I always looked forward to meeting up with him. I give him my highest recommendations as a personal trainer! read more

It's unfortunate that I have to write this review because things started off really well and I think that Najee is a great trainer with a good disposition but I'm left with payed services not rendered and complete lack of communication. I payed upfront for the services, I completed about 2/3 and then he would never get back to me about his updated schedule after several attempts. I requested a refund for the remaining sessions and he said he would oblige but now it's been over 3 months and I still have not received a refund. When I follow up with him, I get no response. read more

I've been training with Najee for a little over two years and working with him has been absolutely transformative to my life. My fitness goal at the beginning was just to become toned. Little did I know that I needed to increase my protein and start lifting heavy in order to see the changes in my body that I wanted. When I first started working with Najee, I could barely hip thrust 90 pounds and was doing an insane amount of cardio thinking that that would help. Through Najee's guidance of progressive overloading, I became a lot more comfortable with weight training and started training 3X a week. Now I can hip thrust over 300 pounds! I'm naturally pretty lean, so my goal shifted to gaining muscle mass. Since starting, I've gone up a pant size and now literally none of my blazers fit due to the muscular gains in my shoulders and arms. Working with Najee has changed my entire relationship with being active and I'm thankful for his belief, professionalism and motivation over the years. He has always been extremely flexible and creates an extremely dynamic atmosphere of pushing you to believe in yourself even when you don't think you can do it. read more

This a late post. But two summers ago, during the pandemic Najee organized a routine for me that I now incorporate into my daily lifestyle. Really changed my life. I now motivate my family and friends and it feels good! I highly recommend. Thanks Najee Talib! read more

I have been training with Najee for the last year or so and I have nothing but great results physically and mentally! I really didn't know where to start since I was working and going to school full time on top of being a mom. He really got me out of my comfort zone to help me achieve my goals we discussed in our consult. He tailors my program to my lifestyle and needs which is why I keep him as a trainer! He is professional, knowledgable and always communicates so we are on the same page. If you are serious about getting a trainer I strongly recommend coach Najee. read more

I cannot express how thankful I am for Najee! His expertise, passion, and personalized approach to training has helped me take my fitness journey to the next level. I have worked out with personal trainers, done Barry's and Orange Theory, and every fitness class you can imagine. What Najee offers far surpasses them all! Najee is all around an amazing person and will help you get real results! I love working out with him! read more

Najee has been a huge help and I highly recommend working with him! He's a fantastic personal trainer with a deep knowledge of how the body works, moves, breaks, and repairs. He caters every training session to my specific long-term goals and short-term limitations, in my case dealing with current sports injuries and avoiding new ones. I consider his sessions not just personal training, but preventative physical therapy. He conveniently offers training right in my apartment building's gym, and also does outdoor workouts at nearby parks, fields, or tracks. He's both accommodating to my schedule and reliable in his. His help isn't limited to the hour spent in the gym: he offers nutritional advice, and helps plan out my workout regimen outside our sessions. He's creative with his workouts, fitting a lot into an hour, and attentively ensures I'm using proper form, making me feel safe to try new and difficult exercises. I also appreciate that he's able to demonstrate anything he wants me to do. For example, on my own I never would have tried deadlifts balancing on one foot on a balance ball, but it's helped my joint stability. When I first started working with him, I wasn't flexible enough to do the squats he thought would be helpful, but after a few months of following his stretching routine I now can. He's helped me reach some of the best shape I've been in, progress in sports I had plateaued in or grown wary of, recuperate from some injuries, and forestall others. His positive, friendly face makes going to the gym fun, where before I found it boring. That's helped me maintain a more continuous baseline fitness regimen, where in previous years I've hibernated a bit over the winter and had a harder time re-entering my favorite sports. He even sometimes joins in the workout alongside me, and it's a great motivator. His rates are super reasonable for the very high quality training he offers. I recommend him to my friends, and to you, anonymous internet reader. read more

Najee is a compassionate, skillful, and dedicated trainer. We worked together for six months and I reached a level of strength I couldn't have gotten to without him. He met me where I was at in my health journey and then inspired me to push beyond my perceived limits. His consistency, professionalism, and communication made it easy to work with him and his ongoing positive attitude made our workouts rewarding. Highly recommend! read more

Najee has been an amazing trainer for a number of different reasons. 1. He's super knowledgable and willing to adapt your training to fit your specific needs/capabilities 2. He's incredibly empathetic and disarming. I never felt embarrassed or belittled for what i was able or not able to do. 3. He will motivate and push you, but its not overkill. From dieting, to stretching, to managing expectations - he's incredibly versatile in how he was able to help me achieve my goals. Additionally, the space that he works in is awesome as well, private, quiet and comfortable. Najee is a great trainer and even better person! read more

Update: 2/3/23 - Unfortunately, Najee refuses to return $1265 that I pre-paid him for 23 training sessions - services he did not deliver. I continue to be disheartened by this lack of professional integrity that Najee demonstrates. It's a shame that I need to update my original post, but here it goes as I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. I see that Najee has responded to my original review with some choice words as I understand it sucks to have negative reviews. However, other reviewers have shared the same experience of money being kept by Najee for undelivered sessions and his unresponsiveness. It's important to share my experience. I did gain positive physical results due to Najee's skills when I diligently attended training sessions, and I made clear cancels or reschedules within the scope of my contractual written and verbal agreements with Najee. No breach of contract. I stopped consistently working with Najee because he became unresponsive to my texts (as other reviewers mention), he would frequently travel and cancel sessions, and his comments during and between sessions became progressively demoralizing. Part of the problem was also that I experienced several boundary violations during and between sessions including inappropriate, late night, and unprofessional (quite uncomfortable) texts/social media messages from Najee. This was a slow and awkward turn of events after what had been a friendly, warm, and effective training relationship. I will repeat some of what I wrote before: I paid Najee for my last 36 session contract. I went against my gut despite experiencing deteriorating professionalism on Najee's part. Each previous contract for training with Najee was 100% complete with a mutually agreed upon (and documented) number of sessions finished before I paid for a new contract with him - nothing was left over for me to pay for. After mutually agreeing to end the last contract early and after Najee agreed to refund me for remaining sessions, Najee decided he was entitled to keep the money I paid and continues to refuse to return over $1200 that I paid him for future services that he did not deliver. Unfortunately, I am working with a lawyer to retrieve my funds. Do not pre-pay Najee for sessions, and I caution working with him at all due to his touch and go professionalism. For anyone, note that apparently once Najee is certain he will no longer receive money from you his friendliness and care seem to vanish, as demonstrated below in his response to my review. Training and working on your body is vulnerable and requires someone you can trust all around and who can maintain consistency, integrity, and kindness over time... and who abides by mutual agreements made and returns payments for undelivered services. read more

I honestly cannot say this enough - I am so fortunate to have found Najee. He is caring, motivating, and a wealth of knowledge. His passion for health and the ability to personalize your routine has put me on a course of reaching goals that I didn't even know were possible. Since I started working with him in January 2020 I am already a few pounds from my goal weight and in the best shape of my life. It was nerve-racking to start this journey and ever since I had my first call to now Najee has made me comfortable and inspired me to work hard. I have the utmost trust in him. His passion and empathy for how tough it is to take the steps to better your physical and mental health cannot be underestimated. I truly believe meeting him has been one of the best choices I have ever made. I can't wait to continue my journey with him. He is life-changing! read more

There's not much I can say other than Najee is an amazing trainer. He is super positive and motivating, and will not allow you to slack off.
