I've been a Nail South customer since I moved to Georgia a little over 6 years ago. I worked in the area, so the location was pretty convenient for a lunch run or afternoon appointment. They have really revamped the place over the last few years and I always have a pretty positive experience. I think what I like most is their selection of colors...I'm typically overwhelmed, but when it comes to my nails, that's a good problem to have. Jimmy is my fave! He's quick and very thorough. I got the service I requested. I cheated on my regular nail salons because of limited time. The staff members were nice. They will definitely try to suggest services to get you to spend more money. I asked for gel manicure and regular manicure; clear coats for both. I was in there over an hour. I'm not use to sitting that long at my regular nail salon. Not even a week later the gel from my manicure started to peel...a lot. For the price I paid (which is comparable to my regular salon) I expected at least two weeks out of the manicure. They did what I asked so I'm not mad about that; I just expected higher quality for the price. read more

Note: I didn't want a cut down or that much of a file down yet still did. My hands are both uneven. My left hand is a lot longer than the right. The left hand of my manicure wasn't bad. However, the right side wasn't that great. Dipping powder was a little lumpy and my thumb was extremely crooked. I really appreciated the patience the staff showed me as I was indecisive with my nail color and changed both the colors on my nails and my toes several times before deciding on a color. I scheduled an appointment the day before and was late to my appointment. However, I called to inform them that I would be late and they were able to accommodate me. I got a mani (SNS powder) and pedi and they were able to do them at the same time. I only spent about an hour there. I was highly satisfied with the price I paid. Everyone can't do nails there. One technician did the SNS manicure. It turned out ok but the french pedicure was anything but. I asked for my money back and they refused to refund me. Instead, the offered to redo it. To that end, they said the owner would have to give the refund and they weren't there (Conveniently). I didn't want them to redo my toes because I didn't have faith that it would last. My pedicure was messed up within a matter of hours after they did it. We'll see how long the SNS manicure last. It's hard finding a new nail salon. This is just okay. They'll get the job done but I've had better. I was in town for a wedding and needed a quick fill and they provided just that. In the future, If I were in the same situation again- I'd probably find somewhere else. Again, they didn't do bad, they just didn't wow me. I switched over to Nail South after finally being fed up with poor service at a salon across the street, I have now been four times and all experiences have been positive! I have had Tracy do my gel manicure my past two visits and she does such a great job, always gets paint to the cuticles and asks how many coats you would like. I have really short and thin nails so I have always been a bit embarassed but Tracy makes them look nice. I have also had two pedicures at Nail South and both were great as well. I get SNS nails exclusively. My regular tech was booked up and I procrastinated making an appointment so I tried this place out. My nails have not lasted even a week and it really upset me. I came here on New year's Eve without an appointment. After I signed in, it took them about 10 minutes to make arrangements for somebody to attend to me. Jimmy was assigned to work on my manicure. I signed up for the SNS powder treatment. It was my first time using this method. I am very pleased with what he did, I request it for longer nails, that was an additional $5 charge. I am very happy with the results. While sitting there and waiting for my nails to be fixed I decided I would get my lashes done too. Tenny worked on my lashes. She gave me a natural look.Tenny told me to give it some time to get used to it, and if I was not happy with it I could make an appointment to get it redone within the week. It is now the third day and I think I am liking it. Both Jimmy and Tenny who worked on my nails and lashes were very skilled, friendly and humorous. I would definitely go back to get my nails done using this new powder method. As for my lashes I will try the individual lash next time which means I have to make an appointment as that technique is more labor-intensive. read more

Nice staff, able to accommodate last minute. Also it seems like they are missing to drive to appropriately dry your nails as I had to just sit and let mine air dry which was extremely odd. I usually love it here- Jimmy is an artist with acrylic. However, I recently switched to dip and the tech I had doing my nails got upset with me when i asked her to completely remove my old set and replace the tips before dipping my nails in the powder. This lead to a half assed removal of my nails, and new fake tips put on top of old powder. That cannot be sanitary. I was extremely disappointed in the service, and the attitude and lack of concern for hygiene was incredibly disappointing. I've gone there three times the first two times were decent the last time I was getting the SNS nails and the woman used the nail drill down to my nail bed. My nails are paper thin it's terrible. I actually have holes in my nails from the drill in the middle of my nail I am literally not going to be able to go to a salon for weeks if not months while my nails heal I am so extremely disappointed I would highly recommend that you not let them use a nail drill and that they can only use a file because they absolutely wrecked my nails I hope I don't lose my thumbnail Call me super disappointed! read more

I started getting my nails done at Nail South solely based on the reviews, but I've kept going because of the good service. I have had pedicures and SNS with tips in an oval shape done by Loan and Mylah. I like both of them a lot. The salon seems pretty clean and very laid back. I have never made an appointment here and have also never had to wait. I typically go on a weekday around 4pm and have never seen it too crowded. I'm new to the area and I've been to this place twice . Both experiences were terrible. The first time it was a bit confusing because they didn't hear me when I said I wanted gel on both toes and nails and gave me someone who didn't do gel oh! I even waited for her to eat her lunch just to find out she can't do gel. The guy who did my nails cut me deep on my thumb half way through the process, he did give me a discount for that. I told them THREE times what color to put on my nails and they still put the wrong color .. I was over it so I left. Second time, two ladies did my nails and toes. I LOVED my toes because she actually listened and did what I asked of her. My nails messed up a bit under the gel machine and I told her and she didn't fix it. Under my nails we're not cleaned properly and a week later a nail broke. I have so much bubbles on all my nails and it's not even stiletto, they're more almond shape . Went in asking for a gel manicure and pedicure. Pedicure was mostly fine however when I asked for a design on my toes I showed the manicurist and pedicurist an image of what I wanted they told me they could do it no problem. Well the pedicure technician went and immediately used the wrong color and when I pointed it out another tech came over and with attitude told me that I needed to tell them what I wanted before they started paining and that I would have to wait for them to remove the gel giving me awful attitude when I had done nothing wrong. The pedicure was alright but I won't go back. Manicure she filed the existing gel off to my bare nail hurting me in the process filing too much nail. Nails were trimmed uneven and she inconsistently used top coat. Not using it at all on one nail. I'm extremely disappointed in the visit and won't be going back. New to this side of town and trying to find my go-to nail salon. Decided to give NailSouth a shot and honestly I've had better. I feel like for the work that was done the price was a bit expensive. The nails on my right hand are longer than the left he didn't even check to see if they were even. I got a full set which was $30 plus gel color $15. Basic spa pedicure with callus remover and they don't even use the actual callus remover tool. Just a regular scrub that is usually used for a regular pedicure. No hot towel which I usually look forward to when getting a pedicure. It wasn't a bad job but I feel like I've received better service elsewhere for less than $85 (plus tip) ofcourse. I went there today to get basic mani-pedi. The color I picked was reportedly 'dry' and they had to put triple coat to make it look smooth to the point where there were areas of unevenness. They also did not clean off the nail paint from skin. When I complained, they said "oh next time when you come just tell them you want a different color because some light colors do this". I have use this color from OPI many times before and this was never the case. I talked to the manager but she did not really care and said 'what do you want me to do, we can put another coat on it'. I have been getting a manicure and pedicure for the last 10 years regularly, this was by far the worst that I have seen. Not going back! read more
