I went in to get an eyebrow waxing. I have been here many times to get an eyebrow waxing and although they are slightly inconsistent with getting the shape I want, I go back anyway, because I can walk in on a whim without an appointment and they usually have time to take me. In the past, the lady that waxes eyebrows has been rude to me, telling me my eyebows are "too thick" and "take too long to wax", but I let this go. Everyone has cranky days at work, right? Well, apparently, I shouldn't have let it go; I should have taken it as a warning sign. Anyway, on this particular day, as per usual, I walked in, sans appointment to get my eyebrows waxed. The lady took me in the back, waxed my eyebrows and all seemed well. She didn't give me a mirror to have a look, but that didn't seem particularly out of place. So I went to the desk and paid. Then I drove home. It wasn't until I got home and looked in the mirror that I realized THEY HAD WAXED ONE OF MY EYEBROWS ALMOST COMPLETELY OFF! One of my eyebrows was fine, but the other was only about an inch long and the rest of it was just GONE! I had this weird little eyebrow nub on one side of my face, making me look rather like Vanilla Ice. And although I do miss the 90s, it's not enough to make me shave my eyebrows to look like one of the most embarrassing musicians to come out of that time period. At that point, I panicked. What do I do? Shave the other eyebrow to match? Try to wear my hair creatively over part of my face until it grows back? Shave them both off completely? None of the options were good. I was beyond angry. And I understand that everybody makes mistakes. No one is perfect. No one can be expected to perform their job 100% perfectly all the time. BUT, this was a serious mistake. And I do not appreciate that they 1) Didn't tell me about it. 2) Deliberately tried to hide it by not showing me a mirror before I left. And 3) Made me pay for it AND let me leave like nothing was wrong! Can you imagine? That's greed, piled on top of deceit, piled on top of incompetence. Needless to say, I will not be going back and neither should you, unless you have a secret fondness for asymmetrical eyebrows that will definitely get you noticed . . .and possibly get you mistaken for a 1990s rapper. read more
