Came in for the first time yesterday. I came in and they were super nice and i got seated almost immediately. Got in the chair and asked for a light pink short set. Nail tech was super nice but didnt really listen or pay attention to what i was wanting. He gave the neutral color as u can see below, and my nails werent all straight. My ring finger nails completely ruined how the set looks bc their too long. I brung it up once and asked nicely if he could straighten out my nails and he only straightened out one nail. If I do come back ill get a different nail tech because the nails aren't even close to similar, do not look right. read more

I have been going here for years. The customer service has went downhill. The shop has this card that they give you and stamp it after every purchase. After 10 stamps, your next purchase will receive $20 off. Today, I gave the woman my card that had at least 8 stamps already. They lost my card and tried to replace it with a blank card. When I noticed the mistake, they tried to tell me I wasn't telling the truth. Then they tried to "resolve" the issue by giving me a card with less (only two stamps). Very frustrating experience for a long time customer. Not necessarily because of the money, but the fact they took no accountability and basically called me a liar. Also before that happened, on Mother's day weekend, there was an instance where they made me pay ahead of my full service (Full set, pedi and lashes). I had only gotten my nails done at the time and was waiting to get my lashes done. I allowed it because I have been going to them for quite sometime and I trusted them. I tipped well and waited. Hours later I was finally seen and there was no apologies whatsoever. They forgot I was there. The individual lashes that I received had fell out the next day. I asked my nail tech if the silver glitter on top of my white tips would be extra, to my understanding he said no. I get to the counter it's an added cost! They need to hire people that can speak and understand better English. This is so annoying. I'm not the one to argue so I paid it. I went to nail plus not 2 weeks for a pedicure and fill in. In which I had to go back the next day because my toes look a hot mess my baby toe didn't even have polish on. When I went back on Sunday the guy look like I was lying. I spent $60 plus have old lady a tip just being nice. I at Jimmy nails today they tolf me I need a full in. My mom and I went here for years but it has gone downhill in the last 6 months. It has been remodeled and may look nicer but the service itself has drastically decreased. I get dip. The last 4 times I went, it didn't even last 2 weeks. The last time I went, it didn't even last one week. When I went in and explained that I just wanted a manicure as the dip was not lasting, I was treated rudely for not wanting my usual service. I didn't appreciate that. The last time I got a pedicure, the tech rushed me because they were closing soon. Keep in mind, I was there over an hour before the salon closed, they were just busy. Still, I'm spending my money, please don't rush through and say that you'd rather not I do my hands too as they are closing. After going to a new nail salon closer to my job, I have learned that Nails Plus isn't even actually doing the dip correctly as they are still using the UV light and gel coating. Now that I have switched salons, I am getting almost a month out of my dip (of course with the growout but the actual dip itself is staying put). It's a shame. Came here for a temporary nail fix until they rebuild my regular nail place (Exo nail bar in Edwardsville IL) and let's just say they can't rebuild fast enough! While I didn't expect things to be on the level of Exo, I at least had hopes of a good experience. The first time I came, an older gentleman did my nail service. I just got clear dip powder. He did a good job. So I figured I'd try them again. That's where I went wrong. I asked for a neutral dip color with gold lines for a design on 4 of my fingers. This time I had an older lady with a Bob cut & glasses. She rushed through the service, I asked her 3 times if she could do the nail design and she said she could. The lines on my nails look like a kindergartner did them and they were lifting before I left the place. They also mention the price of each little thing during the service, like she told me the total cost well before it was time to pay. I can see how that could have been their effort to be clear that there was an extra cost for designs, but I think that's a tacky and distasteful business practice. If I didn't have the money for a service that I am asking for, I wouldn't even be here. I hadn't been to a nail shop where the employees held conversations with each other in their language in so long, I had forgotten what it was like to go to a basic nail salon. Never again! I have been going to this salon for years and I mean years - even through different management. I go at least once a month for nail gel dip, sometimes I add a pedi, and eyebrows. I usually go on Sundays and there's hardly EVER a wait. Today was different and I'm blaming wait time on schools starting tomorrow. No problem - I was okay with the wait. Got there 5 minutes before salon open but clients were already at stations being serviced. That's ok I'm good. My name was the first on the list. When I was finally called to a chair 30 minutes later, I was told that I would have to let my nails soak. Ok no problem BUT the tech ALWAYS files off whatever the top layer is so that as I soak, the polish will come off quicker. The tech quickly placed the bowl of remover at my spot and told me to start soaking as she then went to sit at least 5 other clients that were after me. I waited a second and when I caught her attention, I asked if I was going to get my nails filed first. The tech said, "No I don't have time!" WHAT?!?! So what was going to happen was I would sit for an hour to soak my nails as other clients behind me were served. NOPE - what do you mean you don't have time?? I politely grabbed my items and went somewhere else. I guess my loyalty didn't matter - well my money won't matter there anymore either. Nail shops are a dime a dozen in Florissant. Come here often and not happy with results. They are supposed to be coffin nalls but where is the coffin they look round and they are sooo THICK!!! The guy went over my cuticles so much they were burning when he was done. PLUS the MANAGER/OWNER told my friend she couldn't do yellow because it doesn't look good on her skin, even if that's the case , (which it is not because I've gotten yellow numerous times and my complexion is darker than hers) he shoulda let her be the judge of HER nails. I went here for some me time without my kids. It was a horrible experience. She. I first walked in the older woman stared me down. It was so uncomfortable. I spoke to her and she gave me a half smile. All the while speaking to someone else in her native language. I only wanted a pedicure, nail removal and manicure. I was seated in the pedicure chair without much of a wait. Once seated the older man who's station is the 2nd chair from the left cane to service me. IT. WAS. HORRIBLE!!!! He was rough. I mean he was working so hard on my feet it was making the entire chair shake. I did not feel welcome even though I was spending my money. He half did my pedicure and the painting was horrible!!! The layers were uneven and even caused pain while cutting. All the while the same older lady walked around the shop sweeping while still giving me an evil side eye. I recieved poor service at this salon. I was told my nails would be dry in 10 minutes but I waited 15 at the dryers. The polish nicked and ran. I went back for them to fix the mess and they didn't even remove all the polish they just polished over it which left bubbles. So background info- when this place first opened back in the day. I came in and waited. Waited, and waited. After 30 minutes, I left. There were literally 3 technicians sitting there talking while I waited. I was the only person waiting. So flash fwd 10 years. My friend gave me a gift certificate for my birthday. After looking at my undone feet, I decided to weather the storm and go get my feet done. They do not have a menu showing prices for pedicures, the front shows $24 but they will tell you diff prices for diff tiers. I heard diff prices given for these diff tiers to two other ladies getting their feet done, based off this, I went with the basic. And basic it was! Hilariously tho, the tech kept trying to sell me on a bigger pedi package, making remarks about my skin could use the salt scrub, etc. LMAO! The upsell was real. The only awesome part was cuticle cutting she put in but otherwise my dog could rub my feet longer than 15 sec. What was a plus tho was the paraffin wax on a basic pedi. She spent less time on my pedi than I spent soaking in the water. I was so happy when I busted out my gift certificate after that bs pedi and upsell. Lady named Ana did my nails (older lady with black hair and glasses) and she was Very Very rude. She complained the whole entire time she did my nails and got an attitude every time i told her how i wanted my nails. She was very rough with my hands and kept twisting my fingers which i hated and when i told her to be more gentle she got an attitude and started talking to her co workers in their language and i can tell she was talking bad about me. This made me feel soo uncomfortable. Also she kept getting up and walking away just because she had an attitude. I told her i wanted a bright yellow color and showed a picture and she told me they did not have it when i knew they did because i had it last time i got my nails done with them. I should have took a picture of the way she did my nails because they were horrible and i was not leaving until she changed them which she did. very sad day at this salon. Pedicure massage chair was broken and lop-sided. Counter tops, dusty and gritty, nail drying machines were filthy with black dirty finger smudges! I was afraid to try the ladies room! Pedicure was sloppy and the pedicurist WAITED for her tip (sitting next to the manicurist with her jacket on before leaving for her lunch) I had to return TWICE during my errands as the polish on my toes would not dry.....it was either mixed with remaining lotion or oil and the employees seemed to think it looked FINE. NOT.--bubbles and nicks in the polish and one toe the polish completely wiped off after I touched it with my fingertip! I suggested they take OFF all the toe polish and start over...he only agreed to do the two big toes. Went in to have my dip nail manicure removed. The male technician I started with began prying the polish off without soaking my fingers first or anything. I asked him if he could please soak them because it was hurting. He took another 2 off (all 4 he took off were sore, damaged and torn at this point) before asking another technician to take me and soak them in acetone. She put my fingers in a bowl with acetone and then left to wax another customer's eyebrows. She was gone for almost 10 minutes, leaving my fingers in a bowl of pure acetone, and every other technician around me completely ignored me. It was the first time in my life I had ever considered just walking out of a place without paying. My nails are now thin and damaged and my nail beds are very sore. I've gotten a dip manicure removed elsewhere in the past without my nails being damaged whatsoever, so I know this happened just because of carelessness. There was also an unpleasant smell while I was there, and the chairs and workstations were untidy and looked dirty. Very unprofessional and frustrating experience. read more

If giving a zero star rating was an option, I would have quickly selected that. Let me start with sharing, that my past experience with Nails Plus when Tom was the owner, was always a 5 star visit. Since Nails plus was sold, I have had less than fantastic service; but nothing compares to this most recent visit. I hadn't been in awhile and decided it was time to fix my nails up for the nice weather. However, what I witnessed yesterday was beyond UNprofessional and disappointing. A customer who had scheduled an appointment and arrived early, was made to wait for her services. As she picked her color out, she was told 'that won't look good on you' (who cares! It's the color she wanted). They then proceeded to paint a couple of her toenails and told her it didn't looked good on her. At this point, another customer had come in around 5:30 and told the nail tech she was ready. The nail tech decided that this other customer needed her attention and left this current lady with foil on her fingers and 2 painted toenails to be completed by someone else. The other nail tech did not feel like finishing up and the customer simply requested to have the foil removed and the toenail polish taken off. To me, this seems like a reasonable request but the way she was treated about it was NOT. She was told repeatedly that they did not like her and to shut up (multiple times) as she requested to have her nails completed. They ended up breaking a couple of her nails (on purpose or accidental, I am not sure - but this should never happen multiple times). In no way, should any one be treated like this and I will NEVER return to this salon or recommend this to anyone else. The atmosphere and service are below par and are not worth my time and attention. I can only speak for myself and how uncomfortable I felt, but I can say that there were regular customers that stated they have been treated rudely quite often a why they would continue to return is beyond me. read more

Horrible experience. I waited over an hour before I was taken back for the jelly pedicure. I had this done once in New York and it felt amazing on my feet so I was excited to see someone in STL do this. The women hardly filled up the bowl so my feet were not covered in the jelly then I had to sit there for 5 minutes uncomftorably trying to get my feet to soak in the jelly. She came back and while taking off my nail polish answered her phone and started video chatting with someone. Since she was preoccupied she only cut two toe nails and told me the rest were good. She rushed through my pedicure, which i was paying more for since i upgraded the pedicure and then was upset when I told her I didn't want the cheese grater on my feet. She half massaged my legs and slopply put on polish. I should have just left at this point but I really wanted my nails done before my trip so I did a gel polish. Again rushed and sloppy. I had polish on my fingers and it looks like a 2 year old did my nails. Very disappointed!! I typically travel to Clayton for my nail services but thought I would give this salon a try. I paid to much for my 35 minute total service. I would get the same thing done in Clayton for the same price and the service would last almost an hour and half. All in all customer service is horrible here. To top it off they allow people to come in and disturb your service in order to sell makeup. read more

I went to this salon today to get a mani pedi. It was aprox. 11:30, so it was not crowded. I was taken back immediately. The woman that did my pedi, started off ok, until she saw another customer come in that I assume she had waited on previously. She might as well had let the water out of the bowl, because after that she finished my pedi in less that 2 min flat. She even asked if I really wanted a mani. She seemed dissapointed when I told her yes.I was not only rushed, but she also cut my toenails too low. I was then ushered to the mani desk where someone else started my mani.This was the worse mani I have EVER had. She pretended not to understand what I wanted and basically slapped the polish on and sent me to the dryer. Despite the horrible service, I still tipped. Not very well, but I did tip. after my nails were dried. I went to back to her to get the parrafin wax. She grapped my hand,ducked it and grapped the other. I immediately pulled away. After the wax driend and peeled it off. She said "You're done." Well, I really was not done,, because some bits of wax were still on mhy hand and under my nails. I went here a couple years ago for just a normal mani/pedi, but went back not too long ago for another, because the first times I liked them. This last time, when I was getting the pedicure, the lady who was filing my toenails, was doing it waaayyy too hard and holding the file wrong or something, because she cut into the tip of my toe! There was a 3/4" long cut from her filing violently! She stopped the bleeding and cleaned it, so at least she did that right, but it was still a really big cut. When I was done with the pedi part, I went over and got the full set manicure...... they didn't push back my cuticles or clean up my nails at all, they just filed them and stuck the fake nails on. The nails looked fine, unless you looked more closely you could see my not so attractive cuticles just making the whole manicure look messy, along with incredibly messy acrylic lines by my cuticles. While I was getting the manicure, everyone else had left the store, so it was just me in there with the workers. For some reason they thought it would be totally cool to all sit down around me/the woman that was doing my nails, and they were all talking in a different language. I have no problem with a couple girls talking to each other to pass the time, but when it's about 6 girls surrounding you, and you have absolutely no clue what they are saying? It's incredibly uncomfortable... I felt like I was in a different country and completely lost! And you'd think that since no one else was in the shop, there was no line or anything, that the person doing your nails would take their time? Nah, she sped through and didn't really worry about them looking great. So even though I've had a good mani/pedi before and great service, after this last time I will NEVER go back. Terrible service, I felt really uncomfortable, got cut and my nails looked not so good... I would not suggest anyone go there, because anywhere else has gotta be better! read more
