Nails by Cheryl violates almost every Covid-19 protocol. The owner/service provider does not wear a mask. She is an admitted anti-masker who believes that she cannot get sick due to her healthy past. (She complains of dermatitis - as if masks are not uncomfortable for everyone who wears them.) Although the owner will wear a mask if asked, she repeatedly touches and removes it. No Covid-signage is posted; no contact trace information is taken; no consents are obtained. Clients are not required to wait outside or in car while other clients present inside. Other clients are not required to wear masks. No six-foot social distancing between clients is required or even encouraged. Used magazines and other prohibited virus-friendly items are present throughout. Chairs and sofas are not wiped down between clients.
I felt extremely unsafe the entire visit, and regretted not leaving at the outset. (I worried for a week about my family's safety.)
For all the risks I assumed, the pedicure was the least enjoyable, least quality salon service I have ever experienced--at the cost of a fancy spa pedicure. Feet are washed in a used plastic foot bath with no liner. Requests for shaping toe nails were disregarded. The foot massage was little more than applying lotion.
I feel very poorly that Cynthia's business has suffered (like so many others), but perhaps she would have more customers if she took safety seriously. While we can "agree to disagree" on many issues, there is no room for disagreement on following state, county and local heath requirements for the privilege of operating a business. And there is no room for disagreement that everyone can and should do their part to keep the community safe.
PLEASE - If you take your safety seriously, do not visit this salon until you are vaccinated.
p.s. If you prefer spa treatments in silence, know that Cynthia is chatty. And opinionated about her politics. Not necessarily a negative, but just something to know in advance if relaxation is your goal. read more
