Booked the deluxe spa pedicure with the hot stone massage add-on, and my technician (I think her name was Jenny?) took her time soaking my feet, scrubbing away every bit of callus, and really worked those hot stones up my calves--it felt so good I almost fell asleep in the chair. The gel polish went on flawlessly, no bubbles, perfect shine, and it's been three weeks with zero chips. This was my first time in the Philippines and I was in dire need of a mani-pedi. Everyone says that mani-pedis are cheaper in PI so I Yelp'd for places and came across Nail Tropics and it was pretty close to where I was staying. They don't do walk-ins so you must make an appt. I can't remember the package I got, but I got a pedicure spa and gel mani-pedi. I was charged extra for removal of my old manicure. I was fine with that, but to charge extra for a matte polish? I settled for regular gel polish. My nail technicians were so wonderful and did a great job. I was so happy with nails. After all that was said and done, I ended up spending $50, which is what I would have spent in the states for what I normally got. Their menu options were impressive so I chose the BUTTER ME UP-(This blend of cacao butter, spearmint oil, avocado and sea salts aids to soften rough, calloused feet.) for my feet. This included the polish. Nice, right? The chairs are extra comfy with a soft pillow and little throw blanket. My Artisans was gentle but very thorough and they were very polite. A relaxing nail spa! It's located in a corner that doesn't get much foot traffic but they seem to have all their seats filled with customers! I opted for a Gel pedicure and a parrafin was treatment on my feet. The whole service costing me about 1,500 pesos. I sat (reclined) comfortably in a cushioned chair for about 2 hours. Relaxing music plays in the speakers but no matter how much I wanted to, I couldn't doze off - not the nail technicians fault. I wanted my nails painted white and usually this color is hard for some technicians to do, but my technician was able to execute it really well and did a very clean job! Too bad I don't remember her name!!!!! The nail color examples aren't many, but if you request a certain color, they will try their best to look for it. The Parrafin treatment left my feet feeling really smooth and soft! Definitely enjoyed it! Only downer is that they don't really give me a good leg rub/massage. It just felt so rushed. The experience also ends with a really short shoulder rub/massage. Don't expect much when it comes to the "massage". Other than that, a clean pedicure with polish will be done really well! read more

As far as being accommodating, they were great. I had a reservation for a handful of people but on the day of our appointments, many people were held up significantly by traffic. We were quick to let the salon know and we might have adjusted plans 3 times in an hour. They were great about trying to accommodate us as much as possible. The actual service itself wasn't that great though. The rattan baskets with the white tubs covered with plastic bags filled with warm water are cute, I guess. But for the price you pay, you'd hope for the proper foot spa machines with the jets. They also didn't have anything to help the nail polish dry. I didn't care for that either. The lady who did my pedicure kept twisting my toe or my foot uncomfortably. I suppose it made it easier for her to do her job but it was painful. I nicely asked for her multiple times to not to that because it hurt but she just kept doing it anyway. The nail polish they used also wasn't the best quality. I made it a point to allow it to dry for a long time. A couple of hours after leaving the salon (where I sat for about 20 minutes after my appointment), I reached into my purse for my wallet and immediately ruined a couple of my nails. With regular showering and hand washing, the nail polish chipped within 48 hours. My boyfriend didn't have anywhere to go while waiting for me so he decided to get a massage while I got my nails done. They gave him a back massage while he was seated next to everyone getting their mani pedis. The lady just had him scoot forward on his seat so she could massage his back while he was hunched over. She put a hand towel over his shirt and massaged him through those layers. At all the other places where we got massages in the Philippines, the price was similar to the massage he got here but this was by far the most half-assed effort. Overall, you're paying for their real estate here more than anything else. So many other cheaper options with better equipment and service. read more

The seats are more like beach chairs for lounging which ended up being really comfy and I got to take a quick nap! haha The only thing I didn't care for was the UV lamp right on my lap and directly in my eyesight and face. Other than that, I got exactly what I wanted and finished in the two hours advised by the receptionist. Will definitely return in the future! Which means if you want to get your mani-pedi, you need to make an appointment since they are usually fully booked. I love the look and feel of the place: nature-inspired setting and comfortable seating. Their nail artisans are also very nice and very professional. The treatments are all very affordable. You can get the a Classic mani-pedi for only P375 which includes cleaning, trimming, buffing and polishing. If you have more time, get the spa treatments which already includes a Swedish hand massage and a pedicure spa which includes a therapeutic foot massage. I love that they use local and organic ingredients for the spa treatments and they even have a vegan option. It really is an oasis in the middle of Makati Business District. read more

Nail Tropics is my go to nail salon! Service is really great, and all the nail artisans know what they're doing. Chairs are pretty comfy, and the provide adequate pillows (for head and feet) and blankets for your visit. Separate room in the back for waxing services as well. I find the pricing to be really reasonable for the level of service that you're getting - compared to cheaper nail salons in the area, I would definitely pay the premium for the quality of Nail Tropics. Pretty crowded, especially on weekends, so I would recommend calling in and making a reservation or making one at the front desk. Recommendation - gel manicure and paraffin treatment are my go to! I absolutely love the paraffin treatments, for they make my feet feel really soft, especially since I'm walking around a ton. If you get a mani-pedi, they normally assign two nail artisans for you to make the service more efficient. All in all, no complaints here! Inconsistent is one thing. Dishonest is a dealbreaker. I have been to the Greenbelt 5 Nail Tropics three times. The first time, I got a ButterMeUp pedicure and the receptionist told me that the polish itself was not included in the cost. Whatever. I come from The States, so when she told me that's how they do it in the Philippines, I accepted it. She also said they were busy, so I should just not get any polish (?) and wait until the next time. The next time, I paid extra ($12 extra) for gel polish. Reading these reviews, it appears that polish IS included in the cost. I can understand that gel would be more than standard polish, but what she told me was just a flat-out lie. Uncool, Nail Tropics. Today (a Sunday), I made an appointment and the receptionist (a different one) did that cutesy pushy thing where she tells you what you're going to get and you deal with it. I requested a ButterMeUp pedicure and she told me that I would also get (and pay for) a paraffin gel manicure. The paraffin manicure sounded okay, but I didn't want gel on my fingers. She argued with me about that for a while, but eventually conceded. Unfortunately, my pedicure was not a spa pedicure at all. There was no cocoa butter, no spearmint, no aromatherapy, just a 15-second salt scrub before the gel and a one-minute-per-leg slam-bam-thank-you-ma'am with some unscented oil after the gel. My bill was 2800 pesos ($56)! I told her I did not get the ButterMeUp spa pedicure and she actually said they had changed their policy and the ButterMeUp pedicure is now actually just the salt scrub with no aromatherapy and that 15-second experience costs an extra 600 pesos. When I protested, she said she had asked the artisans and they said they actually HAD done the full spa pedicure, in spite of what she had just told me. I did manage to get my bill reduced somewhat, but not by the full amount. A pedicure is supposed to be a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, I walked out feeling irritated and swindled. My mom and I had our worst nail spa experience here at the Ayala Fairview Terraces Branch. I usually go to the branch at Trinoma and I don't have any complaints there. But our experience here at the Ayala Fairview Terraces is by far the worst. Meaning? "Sana ako nalang naglinis, sayang na sayang ang pera (english: I wish I had done the nail cleaning on my own instead". I had the usual Gel polish mani-pedi and here's what they did: 2 ladies attended me, one on my hands and the other on my feet. my feet was soaked in the tub of water for a total of about 10 seconds only and then voila done! She proceeded to "cleaning" (note the quotation marks because IT CANNOT BE DEFINED AS CLEANING). No foot scrubbing was done. Correct me if i'm wrong, but does foot scrubbing come with the regular foot spa only? But why all nail spas i have been too, when you get the gel polish combo, they usually come with APPROPRIATE foot soaking in warm water (some even with bubbles and jets of water) AND foot scrubbing. So what is the difference with this branch? Both my hands and feet were then applied with the white cream for about 2 seconds (no chance for my nails and cuticles to even soften!) then they proceeded with using the nail pusher. "Pushing" each nails for 2 seconds then clipping SELECTED fingers only. Then they proceeded with the nail polish. The lady who attended my hands did not even wait for the gel polish machine to automatically turn off the uv light. She hastily kept removing my hands after applying polish hence me sustaining SOFT gel nail polish that easily chipped off. They even have the gall to to give me the envelope for tips! I pity the owner of this branch for his employee's work ethic. Whatever your job may be, I think every one of us should do their job properly. read more

For past 4years that I have been in Manila, I have been loyal to Nail Tropics (Greenbelt) and it remains my first choice for Nail Spa. I like the oriental interiors of the place and the comfy chairs. If you need some privacy they also have a small cozy private room which is good for 2. The artisans are professional and friendly. Their Mani-Pedi is decent but I prefer their spa treatments. They are reasonably priced where a combo costs you less than 1000 peso. I go for a combo (Mani Pedi Spa) and my personal favorite is Fruit Fetish Pedicure and Oh, So Sweet Scrub for my hands. The treatment is for one hour and most of the time I end up sleeping due to the relaxing treatment. The spa comes with foot and hand massage and most of the ingredients used are organic. They also offer loyalty card, which gives you free treatment after a certain number of visits. They are fully booked on weekends, so its preferable to make booking in advance. read more

Clean and relaxing. The two technicians worked on my hands and feet at the same time. As this was my first time, I found it odd to sign a waver to have my skin removed.
