Nail Cocktales has been my nail salon of choice for nearly a year now since I moved from my old salon. The place always smells so fresh and clean with equipment they apparently sterilize after every use. She was too rough while cleaning my nails, causing significant discomfort and pain. I informed her that I have high blood sugar and requested that she be more gentle and careful. Despite this, my nail started bleeding. I no longer felt comfortable with how the service was being performed, as the pain continued and there seemed to be little effort to adjust her technique. When she proceeded to clean my other foot, the same thing happened. I again told her that it was painful and asked her to stop because it was already bleeding as well. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that your nail cleaning service costs more than what many other nail salons charge. I did not mind paying a higher price because I expected better care, professionalism, and attention to client safety. Unfortunately, that was not what I experienced. As of now, my nail has become swollen and has developed pus, causing significant pain and discomfort. This has resulted in additional stress and concern on my part. I hope management will take this matter seriously, review the incident, and ensure that staff members are properly trained to perform services safely and with the level of care that clients deserve. Like most nail salons in the Philippines, they do not have massage chairs with a jet stream basin, but instead chairs and foot stools. I opted for a foot spa, which included a short foot soak in a rubber basin they brought out (less than 5 min for me), callus removal, cuticle care, and polish application. My service was done by Pauline who did an awesome job. 10/10 would request her again. She was thorough with my feet spending about 30 min with the foot file, transforming my callused man-feet back to its baby soft form. She was gentle with my cuticles and applied the polish perfectly -- just up against my cuticles, but without touching them. The shellac on my hands were done by Grace who did a decent job. They weren't to my standard as I'm picky about how clean and close the polish is around the cuticle, but still clean enough to be acceptable since they still looked neat. She definitely nicked me a couple of times with the cuticle nippers, but drew no blood. The nail technicians here have a difficult time communicating in English, but they have decent shop talk and you can get by if you don't know Tagalog. The polish selection is small and there is an up charge for certain polishes. They don't have OPI shellac, which is what I was looking for. I wanted a dark blue shellac, but the only one available was imported from Japan and had about a 700 php up charge, which wasn't cool. I'd probably come again for the price, but would specifically request Pauline.

With the new location, they only have private rooms for massages. We snooked the premier suite that comes with steam Bath and shower. Our first treatment was Sea salt body scrub to remove the dead skin. Next we had our choice of massage... had the deep tissue and my wife had the Swedish massage. Boy, they are strong. My back was sore and they were able to relieve some of the stiffness from seating. They told me to come back for another round as my back is still stiff and and need another massage. Last was the Thai foot massage (with stick). That as a bit painful... and it's only painful if there is something wrong. In my case, plenty. lol. Fell asleep as they were working on my right foot. That's always a good sign if you feel so relieved from the massage that you fell asleep. Definitely going back. My body was a little sore after but that's also good sign.
