They shape the nails themselves and are also very talented at a variety of hand-applied nail art. Their prices are reasonable and I never feel it's too much of a chore to go, which is saying something seeing as I have the attention span of a flea and get bored easily. The girl who did my wax was chirpy, competent and above all QUICK! Her name is Rene and she is definitely the best waxer I've ever been to. It doesn't really matter as it doesn't affect the service they offer- they are the friendliest ladies and they know how to do a good manicure. What is lost in atmosphere and attractive decor is certainly made-up for in reasonable prices! All the usual treats are on offer: manicures, pedicures, silks and acrylic extensions. Like the other nail salons in the area, they offer an extensive array of air brush nail designs- not my cup of tea, but if it's yours Brighton Nails looks like as good a place as any! Booking online was straight forward and easy. At the time of the appointment, I was warmly greeted by staff upon arrival and was offered a refreshment and slippers. Within 10 minutes, I was then taken up to my room and my treatment schedule was explained. I went into the infrared sauna which was a bit challenging but so refreshing once finished. My massage was two words: simply amazing. My masseur was great with the amount of pressure towards my stress points and really made me feel like it wasn't a rushed session. However, this could just be because I have been lucky. They don't require appointments and this can cause problems. I went there with a friend and they were quite busy. Rather than tell us to come back later they let us wait with our feet in the spa. My friend had to wait about 15 minutes before her pedicure started and the woman who did it rushed it so she could get back to a set of acrylic nails on someone else. This does not seem fair. I'd recommend going there, but only when it's quiet so you don't get rushed. The prices are pretty reasonable (spa pedicure £25) and there is a lovely man who is always there and offers you tea or coffee. But like I say, if you go there when it's busy you could get a rush job and that's no fun when these treatments are supposed to be a treat.

Not the type I have experienced before that just gently vibrates. This was was like receiving a proper massage, I almost fell asleep! Again, the pedicure was great, the dry skin scraped away from my feet by a cheese grater-like instrument! My only complaint would be that the cuticle removal was quite painful on both my fingers and toes. I was offered drinks while I waited and there were plenty of magazines to peruse. But its a serious operation they've got going down there...it gets busy and you can be in and out of your chair before you know it! So it was a little awkward, being handed an array of colours to choose from and not having a clue where to begin! The lady was a little impatient and really wanted to get on with the manicure. She did try to help narrow the choices for me, but you could tell that she wasn't impressed. We finally went for a light nudey pink with a little shimmer to it. The lady having her nails done next to me was so warm and lovely, and clearly a regular. Apparently, the glitters and shimmery ones last longer on the nails. Nothing was explained, but I followed the minimal instructions given. I think this was mainly due to the limited English. The lady certainly knew what she was doing and rigorously attacked my cuticles with precision and skill. This was painless and the end result was fantastic, this being the part that I am a bit rubbish at and nervous to do myself! Having my nails done is a bit of a treat for me and not something I treat myself to very often. If you're looking for a pampering, girly experience out of Legally Blonde, I'd suggest going elsewhere. However, if you're looking for a speedy service with a great end result, don't fancy making painful chit chat and can put up with that overpowering acrylic nail smell, then give this place a go! You'll need to pop to a cash machine beforehand as they don't except cards, but there is a machine conveniently placed just a few doors down if you were to find yourself without.
