She insulted me the moment I sat down about how I looked. Then kept adjusting my massage options. She went super fast. Almost like I was on an assembly line. When I went to pay it didn't match what she did. I was stunned. Told an extra $20 for the gel polish. I can easily have a very bad seizure in public. So no I did not bring it up beyond that. ( For my safety, and to avoid any embarrassment to my friend.) When she handed me the sheet with all the prices stuff all over was crossed out, and had prices written in. I thought I was paying that much for the manicure plus pedicure. I had saved $100 for this one day. I had to make sure one of my few friends who knows how to deal with my seizures could also be there with me. My husband had called and pre set this up for us. After my pedicure appointment they said my husband never did book a manicure too. I know he did. There are people who love it there and will still go to them. Good for them. On entering this nail salon first things noticed were strong chemical smell and a game show on their TVs. I didn't find either of these pleasant. Had an appointment with Lee for a Deluxe Pedicure. $50, + $5 for gel polish removal (took 40 minutes without dry time). Service was just okay - not impressed. Sugar scrub on legs only 1 minute each, good scrub, but no massage at all. Dry skin was not adequately removed. He did do a bit more after I pointed it out, but dry skin remained. I decided since I was in town on business to find a local nail salon with good ratings to get a manicure. Botique Nails had good reviews, that is why I decided to suck it up and get my nails done... Well I guess I have higher standards than other people. I did NOT enjoy my experience here for several reasons. 1. Instead of pushing back my cuticles with an orange stick and cuticle softener, they used a Dremel which hurt. 2. They do not use sterilized tools, so the risk of infection is high. Scary!! 3. The gel curing light was wet inside, this was gross. 4. The manicure itself was sloppy as you can see in the photos i attached, I had a chunk of polish along the side of skin next to my nail, there is already a bubble in my index finger, which is already driving me crazy. 5. The price of the manicure was much higher $58 than what their price list says $50. I won't be coming back here and will probably have to get my manicure redone soon elsewhere. read more

Love Nail Boutique! I walked in with no appointment, & I was fortunate to be seen immediately. No wait! The boutique was full, too - I seemingly landed the last available nail tech at the time. He was super nice, & more than professional. I asked to have my gel nails removed & get a simple, regular manicure instead. My tech gently removed the gel polish, perfectly cleaned up my cuticles & nail shape, & applied an ample couple coats of the OPI color of my choice. My nails look fabulous! The boutique itself seems bright & clean. I noticed that tools my tech used with me were soaking in barbicide disinfectant solution, too. Bonus points for cleanliness! Just found this site looking for a nail salon in Soldotna area. My wife and I had pedicures in Sept. 2017. Wife's was ok, but nothing to write home about. Pedicurist was a young lady. I had the older, less than friendly, lady pedicurist. * For starters, they acted as if they weren't expecting us. We had made appointments. * The water was cold. Turns out the water heater wasn't working properly. We weren't informed. Would have returned another day. * My pedicurist kept her eyes more attuned to the game show on the wall-mounted TV than she did my feet. Subsequently, she cut my toes three separate times - never acknowledging or apologizing. * In general she was an unpleasant person with poor English. We will never go back. Needless to say, she did not get a tip. To put this in perspective, I have been getting regular pedicures for over 10 years, so it's not my first rodeo. We have a standing appointment every three weeks. Our nail salon is very professional and has been in business for over 15 years that I know of. They use disposable plastic liners in their tubs. They sterilize the tub following each pedicure and they open a sealed container of buffers, orange sticks, and other instruments for each pedicure. They always ask and adjust the water temperature to individual comfort. There is no TV! Price for man's pedicure: $24. Soldotna/Kenai area needs a good, professional nail salon! I have been going here for about 3 years, and I'm always happy with the way my nails look after my appointment. Sometime the tips are a little rounder than I would like, or off square, but nothing that can't be fixed with a file when I get home. However there have been two times that I was over the moon when leaving my appointment One of the employees that I had a great experience with was Andy, and the other is a younger man who works there. They make sure to shape them exactly how I ask (I like long sharp coffin shape) and the polish was super smooth and covered the whole nail. I will go to anyone there, but if I get Andy or the other gentleman, I know I'm walking out super happy and won't have to touch a thing :) read more

I went there for a Gel Dip manicure on August 30, 2018, and paid $50 for this! Within 24 hours they began to crack and chip and peel! I've had Gel Dip for over 2 yrs and it ALWAYS last unchipped for at least 2 weeks. I went back there on Sept 1, just two days after the Gel Dip and showed them this mess. 8 of my 10 nails were fully cracked or chipped. I asked for a refund. They said no refund, but they would redo. I then asked to soak off this mess and the lady just threw a little bowl of acetone on a table for me. No one even helped me get this mess off my nails. When I asked what happened and why this occurred he couldn't explain. He just said, we will do over. Well, if they didn't even know WHY this happened then why would I want them to do it again?!! Now my nails look terrible and are so brittle as I had to soak them VERY long to get this mess off!!! An obvious mistake was made. Not once did they even say, "I'm sorry", or even seem as though they gave a care. It was as though this was my fault and I was just an annoyance. Bottom line, I understand people make mistakes as was clearly the situation here. What I don't understand is how they seemed to not care. They lost what could have been a VERY good long term customer if they had just acted like they cared and simply apologized. read more

When traveling, it's always nice to find some kind of a review for a business like this. I went in blind. Big place, clean. Called a few hours ahead and there was no wait although they do take walk-ins. Only 2 of 4 employees working spoke English but the woman who did my pedicure did a nice job, and the man translated. They seem to mostly use OPI products which are not top notch. Would go back if in need of a pedicure again in this area. $30 for a basic pedicure seems a little steep. $36 incl tip. read more

I think they mean well, but the service is pretty lame-o. Came here with my mother, to get a pedicure-- we sat down in the chairs, and our feet met cold water! We told an employee and they had an obvious annoyed reaction and shared some words in Vietnamese. The foot massage was fine, scrub fine, polish fine. On a positive note, the young gentlemen who painted a flower on my mom's toes did an excellent job--very pretty and detailed. read more

New in town so asked a friend for a referral. Sloppy job it took her 20 minutes to do a refill & gel polish. My normal clinician took 45-50 minutes to do my nails . Developed fungus under my overlays. Have never in my life had 2 hands that had a fungal infection on every nail. Unsanitary shop for sure. Will never go back there again. read more

I went to this place with some friends and one of my friends got nails like you can see in the picture it was really bad.the service was just ok and they kept talking in some language that we didn't know and they kept laughing at me and my friends it made us very uncomfortable I asked for coffin nails and I got stilettos my other friend was trying to tell her lady that it was not how she wanted and she didn't listen and just clipped them however the lady wanted. We also tried going yesterday the day before and they kicked us out saying they had way to many people in there were 3 people in there they were not out of room just a horrible experience would not go again read more

Definitely really pricey, but my manicure and pedicure looked super shiny and awesome. Plus service was fast and pleasant.

This picture was the first time I got acrylics done, and I didn't have anything to compare it to so I was pretty happy with the results. The pricing was ridiculous though, the silver line of polish that I wanted cost 5 extra dollars and they didn't even do a few swipes to even it out. They literally just did one swipe across each nail and charged me $5 for that. The second time I went they sanded the edge of my finger to the point that it bled, and when I told them it hurt they acted annoyed with me. Then she proceeded to use acetone or something similar and rubbed it directly into my cut. Once they decided they were done I looked at my nails from the side and saw lumpy acrylic on about half of them and asked them to sand that down and make them smooth; they were also annoyed with me about this. I'm not paying $60 for a crappy job, I could've done just as good with an at home acrylic set. read more

Horrible.....no time to soak my feet and relax, I was pushed through in about 15 minutes and the lady I had was very rude and she was way too rough with my toes. It wasn't busy at all and but I felt like it was the way she treated me. Also, the tools she used were not clean. This lady I hope was having a bad day because it only got worse when she was slapping my legs and telling me to put my foot up on the foot stool. I would not recommend the lady I had at this place. My friend had one of the guys and he did a great job and was really nice. I am never going back. read more

What a dirty nail salon. Place not only needs a good cleaning but furniture and seating is peeling. First and last time I'll go there. Had a mani and pedi. I knew I was in trouble when I went to select nail color. The bottles were unmarked with the brand. Polish started chipping off the next day. Two days later I had to take it off my fingernails. Whatever it was didn't come off easily with acetone remover. Left a gooey residue which I had to buff off. So money wasted. I wouldn't recommend this place ever. I'd do without. Being new to the area there isn't much choice. I'll do them myself. read more

I never have an issue here but this time was different. I really like the upgrades they did but I did not enjoy the horrific ingrown toenail they gave me. I had to go to the doctor to get it removed, numbing shots and all. It was the entire side of my right big toe. I've asked them to stop running their nails along my toenails multiple times because it basically feeds my nail into my skin causing me ingrown toenails. Normally I can fix it myself but this time it was different. I'm now on light duty at work because I have to stay off my feet. I'm not complaining about that part. But please, when your client says 'stop', you need to stop. I already have feet issues, I did not need this. I won't be returning at least for a while. And definitely not to that tech. read more

A friend had made reservations for pedicures at their Kenai location for my birthday present. We arrived 5 minutes late (took longer to get lunch bill paid than it should have), and thought we would get there in time. Did not think to call since we weren't going to be too late and we had been kept waiting 30 minutes for our last appointment at the Soldotna location. We were literally 5 minutes late. Not 10, not 15. Walked in and the tech said he thought we weren't coming so he took two walk-ins in our places. No apology, no 'can you come back in 30 minutes', nothing. And by the stage he and the other tech were in on the nails they were doing, they had not started only 5 minutes earlier. Very rude and unprofessional way to run a business. We won't be returning to that branch of the business. read more

My sister in law and I made an appointment at Soldotna's Nail Boutique based on local recommendation. I live in the area and she was visiting and needed acrylics repair. I wanted to redo my gels. I have gone to other salons in the area but never tried here. We came in right at our time of appointment but we had to sit and wait about 20 minutes before they started either of us on our acetone soaks. They seemed to be short handed and so she and I had the same nail tech. My last gel set I had was done in Texas for a wedding and it was still looking gorgeous nearly 2.5 weeks later except for the fact that my nails were growing out so it was time to get new ones. 7 days after my gels were applied here they started to fail. It acted as if the tech put on a very thin application of the gels. My nails started to snag on things and the gel lifting. I gave it two stars because the price $20 seemed reasonable plus they did a nice job on my sister in law's acrylics. read more

I was in Soldotna from Seward for a quick work trip and thought I'd get a mani/pedi since we don't have such services in Seward. The tech never spoke to me, not once and he gave me the mani and pedi. It was very awkward and it wasn't relaxing, but it wasn't painful. I wanted gel polish on my nails, french tip, with a purple line under and he said they could do it, but then when it came time he said they didn't have the purple in the gel color and couldn't do it, even though the girl next to me was getting purple gel. I was told my total would be $55 and by the time I was paying, my total was $74.50...I gave a nice tip, spent $85 and then headed home to Seward, this was Saturday. My foot hurt really bad, to walk or even rest. When I woke up that Sunday morning, I couldn't put any pressure on my foot and I had shooting pains up my legs. I took some aleeve and thought I must have done something to hurt myself. That night, even laying down my foot was throbbing and I could feel pain throughout my leg, it was so bad I almost went to the ER. I woke up Monday and the pain was not as bad, but by end of day my foot was swollen and again I had horrible pains. I made an appt for the doctor for Tues. Going to the doctor, I was told that I have an infection from the nail salon. This could be due to the cleanliness of the overall place, the tools and the person. I was given some antibiotics and a pain reliever since my foot is really swollen and I can't put any pressure on it, not to mention even elevating my foot I can feel it throbbing and it hurts pretty bad. The infection is on the side and heel of my foot. I was told this is because of the dead skin grater that they use, the doctor told me that these kinds of tools should not be used and instead pumice stones only. The guy used the grater too rough and too hard on my foot which caused all the pain and the skin to be ripped causing the infection. I called the nail salon hoping they'd apologize or offer me a refund, but they didn't. The man that answered the phone asked who did my nails and I said I didn't know because he didn't speak to me. I did make an appointment and he saw I was in the appointment book, he then said that he wishes he could see it because he doesn't believe me. He asked if I had a cut on my foot before I came in and I said i hadn't. He didn't apologize or ask how I was doing and instead asked me why I was calling. I told him I thought that he should know that they caused the infection and could stop it from happening to others, and that I wanted him to be aware that not only did I spend $85 there, I had to take time to go to a doctor, pay the co payment, and buy medication, all things that could have been avoided if things were cleaned properly and the grater was not used so forcefully. I said that I also wanted him to know I would not return to this place again; he said Okay and hung up on me. I get that in AK our feet aren't always pretty and sometimes the dead skin grater is needed, but I get Pedicures every other month or so when I'm in Anchorage--they've never used the skin grater on my feet. I've always wondered about them, but they have never been used in the 8+ years I've been getting pedicures pretty often. I don't understand how this aqful salon is blaming me, when it's their fault, I know how to care for my feet and I use an at home spa pedicure set so I know my feet aren't horrible. I will never go here or to their other location. I'm disappointed I spent that kind of money and they can't even offer up an apology. Very disrespectful place. I'll just stick with Anchorage from now on. read more

I went in with an appointment and arrived 10 minutes early. Nobody even looked at me for 20 minutes. Then an older woman comes up to me and taps the back of my chair and says "over here." I showed my nail tech a picture and she said she could do it no problem. She proceeded to do the most hideous acrylic manicure I've ever seen. The picture had gemstones on the nails and she started painting the gems on. I asked if she could use real gemstones and she said "we don't have them in that color" and I said oh that's fine I don't mind clear ones and she never answered me. I left in tears because I had to go to prom with a hideous manicure. I will never go back again, this was not my first bad experience. read more

I would give them a negative star if I could, this place is complete rubbish. Everyone there barely speaks English, talks in there native tongue in front of you with one another, not personal at all, plane out rude. Made an appointment to get some nail art done and when I arrived the lady I was pointed to did not speak English and was redirected to a guy that could. I then showed him what I wanted done and he told me to pick out the colors. I did and waited a half an hour for someone to start on my nails. Another guy who spoke very poor English proceeded to paint my nails the colors I picked out. When that was done he began to do the nail art that I wanted. It was an extremely simple design and he couldn't do it, he tried doing it twice and then just gave up. If they thought they couldn't do it in the first place why did they waste my time on saying they could? I think they should give me money for the waisted time and gas I spent seeings how I'm all the way out on k-beach past bridge access.
