Very rare to get people to return your phone call. This is a huge gossip salon. A guy cut my daughters hair and I could see when she walked in the door that not only was it substantially shorter than she asked for, but it was crooked to the (unprofessional) eye. read more

Absolutely the worst salon experience of my life. Please read this! you'd hate to have this happen to you. Asked to keep my length, she cut off half right off the bat anyway. Asked for an all over dark mousy color to match my roots, ended up with half my hair bleached platinum blonde, the other half remained the brassy color it was with 4 inches of dark mousy roots showing. She told me the toner would even the rest out when i noticed she was only foiling some of the hair. There is no arguing with this lady either. I asked her what condition she thought my hair was in when i arrived. She said it was one of the best she had ever seen. The last heat or chemicals it had seen was over a year before this. You dont grow your hair as long as mine was if you are damaging it, and i only wanted to even the color out so i could keep growing it. It took her 3.5 hours to foil HALF my head. She was yacking with a coworker not paying attention most the time. When she went to cut it after the color, whole chunks were falling out, and she actually asked me if my hair usually "sheds" this bad as she was ripping through it with a plastic comb. Let me illustrate, she actually grabbed my head by the scalp with one hand, and just ripped a comb through the length of it with the other. Of course the new blonde parts were beyond fried from their 4 hour soak in bleach, so almost all of the color treated parts broke off about 4" from my scalp within 3 days. Now my hair is about half as thick as it was before and pieces stick up everywhere. Im actually kind of glad she didnt listen to me about the all over color because if she had done as i asked, then left all of it in as long as she took to do it, i would have practically no hair right now. I should probably mention that she still charged me for "all over highlights" at over double the cost i had originally agreed to than the "all over color" I had asked for. Even though she only did half the work. Moving on to the cut. I brought in a picture of myself with the same haircut i had done at my previous salon every time i went in, and she told me my hair would not do that. I tried to explain that it was fairly simple to do, (literally just face framing layers) and she said she would try to approximate but that it 'wasnt possible'. The cut I walked out with was straight from the 80's feathered by the time she was done. Instead of a long layered cut with bangs, I ended up with pretty much a mullet. So i walked in with waist long healthy but brass blond hair with dark roots. I wanted to even out my hair color and get my layers fixed. brought in pictures, pointed out the color in her own color book, Could not have been more simple. I walked out with shoulder length hair, half platinum blonde, half brass with 5 inches of dark roots, with a near 80's style mullet, and so incredibly damaged that half of it would break off to a fuzz ball within 3 days. The damage is so bad that i am considering whether or not to get a pixie cut in order to start over. Yes ladies, that's how you can go from growing out waist length to a forced pixie cut in 5 hours. For this experience, I was charged nearly $300. The original quote was "about $130". If you want to pay double to get your hair cut by an aging woman who finds mullets flattering, and will do whatever the h** she wants anyway no matter what you say, then by all means. But I hope my sharing will prevent you from ever letting this salon near your hair. If I could rate -1000 stars i would. read more

I went in for a color and hair style change. I know it is harsh when pulling out colors but my hair got trashed! Nothing like a "Malibu" treatment was done for it. I brought a pic for the cut. It was something I'd had before. I would need to flat iron it. I knew this....because I had it before. She cut my hair too short, each side was different and she kept wanting to cut more to fix it. I just said "stop already"- I told her in the beginning that I needed to be able to pull it back.....nope can't. I can't flat iron it because I'm afraid I will break it off! The color has a green brown look to it- not sure what that's about. Oh, and the kicker? $300 before tip. I read the first review before I went in! My own fault! My friend goes in for a $40 simple trim. Live and learn. read more

I tried this location to find a new stylist (just moved here) and tested this place out. I have long brown hair with peekaboo highlights. Just had my highlights redone in June and so I did not want anything else done to my hair except for the roots and a trim, and to avoid putting color near the roots of the 'lights. The cut was great, though I did get a sense of the stylist wanting to trim more (i have long hair and it takes a stylist actually listening to their clients desires if they want it grown out) but thankfully she did not cut too much off. This always makes me nervous, and thus my choice to only do a minimal amount when I went in. The roots - well - my highlights did not get protected and now have a faint reddish brown hue that faded into them so that made me choose this is not the right fit for me (usually I'd go back but simply don't have the time, and this is a novice mistake so hard to trust again). Also, the price. If I pay (I think 90?) for just some root touch ups, and they dye over highlights... me thinks it not quite a deal. All together about 150 dollars for roots/cut. (with tip) I know Alaska is more expensive, but I'm not sure if this place offers a price for just the roots? I should have checked but thought most places in the world have a root only price. And, oh yep, my grays actually are showing through the dye now :( Meep! Not sure on their product line but it did not cover too well. I give 3 stars for the atmosphere, job on the cut, and for their time as she did try. But won't go to the same lady again. read more
