Their website doesn't reflect the correct open time of 8am when she starts seeing patients. Office doesnt start answering calls till 9am. Inconsistent and confusing. Dr. Virtual Appointment was scheduled at 12:45p. I received first link at 12:59. 2nd link at 1p. I joined at 1p using the 2nd link. I was put into the virtual waiting room. She never joined, then I received a 3rd link at 1:26. So I dropped from the 2nd link and I joined that 3rd link and sat in the virtual waiting room for over 30 minutes and she never showed up. When I called they said I would be charged a cancellation fee. They said they were calling me , that I should have answered so they could let me know they were sending me new links. I didn't look at incoming calls while already on a virtual call with them. I had already seen links and was already in the virtual waiting room/s and had joined the 2nd and 3rd links when they came in. Then I rescheduled for an in person (2nd visit). My appointment was scheduled at 8:45am. I never got a reminder message. So I called at 8:07am to confirm and I got the message saying the office is now closed. So I go to website which states their hours of operation start at 9am (still states this). So I thought maybe they just asked me to be there 15 minutes before appointment start time. I got there at 8:50am. The doctor saw me and said I would have to schedule another appointment to have form filled out and refused to do it at that appointment because I was according to them "late": After I left, I noticed her office left me messages at 8:48am and 8:49 telling me I was going to be charged a cancellation fee. I told her I called at 8:07am. She told me I didn't call because her office staff picks up. So I showed her my phone and the outgoing call to her office. So I had to schedule a 3rd appointment at 8am on a 3rd day. When I was in her office I called her office I put it on speaker at 8:06am and I got message office was closed. She said she didn't want to talk about the cancellations and missed appointments. She said her office opens at 9am like the website says and the phones don't get turned on until 9 but makes appointments starting at 8am. They don't care about patients or the patient experience with their virtual system and confusion of office hours conflicting with what website says (9am) but they start seeing patients at 8a. They unfairly charge cancellation fees for missed appointments they never showed up to. Make you schedule extra appointments. They are full of double standards. Tell me to pick up when they call but their phones are not available at 8am when she starts seeing patients. They call leaving messages saying they are going to charge cancellation fees 3 and 4 minutes after your visit appointment start time yet she is always 15-30 minutes late. Their website does not reflect her office hours that start at 8am but her staff doesn't turn off , office is now closed until 9am. When I tried sharing my concerns and where confusion was coming from, she spoke over me. Did not feel heard at all.

Dr. Venugopal is a warm, caring doctor who has treated me for stress, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD and clinical depression. She refuses to call in scripts and makes me call my pharmacy and make the pharmacist call in ALL requests to the doctor. I've never dealt with an office who won't give the doctor a script request. I find the receptionist lazy and very inefficient. Often, I have to keep calling the office and asking if the refill was called in. I've been told by the receptionist that she will NOT contact me when the script is called into the pharmacy, and I can just "keep calling your pharmacy until it gets there." HUH??!! When I tried to explain to the receptionist that this is a very inefficient way to know when I can pickup my daughter's meds, she replied, "it's the only way, because I don't know when or IF scripts are refilled." Then, "sleepy sounding receptionist" hangs up, and I spend the next 5+ hours trying to guess when to pickup my daughter's meds, and if they've even been called in at all. The receptionist also blames ME when she never returns my calls. When I finally get upset because I can't get the office to call me back, the receptionist says, "I left you a message. You must not have gotten it." This excuse worked the first and second times, but by the 3rd time, it's just annoying. Even when I explain that I don't have any missed calls from the office and NO messages, the receptionist than blames my phone and says "something must've happened." Huh??! No, nothing "happened" other than I can't seem to get returned calls from this office. Today, after waiting for 2 days for a return call, I was told "sorry, the doctor already left for the day, so you will need to wait another day before she can call in medicine for your daughter." So, tomorrow will be DAY THREE that we wait, when this should really take 5 minutes. It might be time to search for other options in St. Charles. As I mentioned, Dr. Venugopal is a great doctor, but if you want to see her, be prepared to fight with her receptionist to get refills, appointments or returned calls (and be prepared to be blamed too). I've had experience with other psychiatrists' offices with my daughter (in different places we've lived), and this office is definitely one of the worst to deal with (because of the staff).

It told me to log into the app which I thought this was where I would fill out the paperwork. So I downloaded the app but there was no doctor or appointment info on there. I reached out via text and left a voicemail message expressing my confusion and concern for not receiving paperwork as her appointment was soon. Never heard back. Called again the next day and left another message. Someone finally called me back to tell me that my appointment had been canceled because I didn't fill out the paperwork within 72 hours back on Jan 5th when I made it! I was shocked and confused since I just received a text confirming her appointment and also upset since I never received an email either. She claimed that she sent me emails but I asked her why not call or text me to see if I received them since I clearly wasn't responding to the emails? She avoided answering that question. I pointed out I left a voicemail and never heard back which she said she never received and then I gave her the number of the text confirmation and she claimed it wasn't from their office. I asked to please ask the doctor if she could squeeze her in since we waited for so long but I received a text message the next day saying she couldnt get her in for months and referred us to other places. This is how much this office cares to have you as a client! They don't want to take any accountability for their lack of communication nor do they care to fix their mistakes. Would not recommend!
