There have been a lot of changes and updates being made to NAIA T3. Having flown in and out of NAIA numerous times in my lifetime, there is certainly a lot of room for improvement, but kudos also have to be made at an airport in Manila, where efficiency isn't always its strongest suit. Let's talk about arrivals first. The immigration line for foreign passport is always dreadfully long. You just have to pray and hope that your flight doesn't land at the same time as other international flights and isn't close to lunch time (otherwise there may be less counters open due to staff taking lunch break). On average, it takes around 20-30 minutes to get through immigration. And then if you don't have a priority baggage tag, it can take an additional 20 minutes of waiting on top. Luggage takes way too long to come out, and you'd think for an international airport, they'd have it down to a tee. Unfortunately in Manila, efficiency doesn't quite fall in their vocabulary. As for international departures, you definitely need to budget arriving at the airport at least 2.5 hours prior to your flight. The queues for immigration and security are a true gamble. You can breeze through in maybe less than 20 minutes if there is barely a queue, or that it will take over 45 minutes if there are too many departures at the same time and not enough staff at the counters. There are a few dining outlets at the airport, but nothing too outstanding. You're better off bringing your own snacks over paying for overpriced food at the gate area. read more

I was at Naia Terminal 3 last September for my trip to the Philippines and I was excited to explore the airport. It was not like this 20 years ago. The airport is huge, and a busy one based on the long lines at the airport wether you are departing or arriving in the Philippines. It has a range of facilities like numerous duty free shops, restaurants, cafe's, lounges, free wifi and charging stations, a chapel/prayer room and a 24 hour medical center and pharmacy. As busy as it is, the airport is organized, and a lot of airport staff around the area to help every passenger in need. Arriving was a breeze. Everything was fast, got my luggage without any problem. Departing was a different story. I suggest you should be at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight because it is one of the busiest domestic and international airport, so there are long lines to check in, go through TSA and all that. There was another line to go through security checkpoint to enter my gate. Overall I am just happy to be home and I do not mind to go through all of these again in my next trips. This place needs more sprucing up and more tweaking to do. It needs more bathroom facilities, directories and signages. It didn't help that there were always more people picking up/waiting for their loved ones than the actual amount of passenger arriving so the crowd can be overwhelming and overcrowded. The amount of Immigration booth (foreign passport side) open during arrival were always less than expected arriving people so the line/wait is sooooo long. That needs to be worked on for flawless and fast service. Let's change this airport from worst to great amd keep up with the rest of the world. read more

There should be no reason majority of the people in the terminal should be sitting/lying on the floor. They have plenty of space to add chairs and benches. 10/31/24 -This airport is the absolute worst airport I have ever been to. Today they flipped us back & forth between Gate 106 & Gate 104 4X's. What's the point? Just to watch people go back & forth? We were suppose to start boarding @ 5:45am & we're still sitting here @ 6:15am. 106 to 104 to 106 to 104 to 106 WTF is going on? The last time I flew out of NAIA to go to Cebu they not only changed gates they change planes from Philippines Air line to Cebu airlines. This airport has some serious issues. Uhhh , where do I start. Coming into NAIA is not my first choice. I prefer Clark as it close to my moms village. Going back to the airport, you will have to complete the (electronic documents first before entering - passing through immigration/customs - www.etravel.gov.ph Unfortunately , I had a large party and did not know until it was my turn to go through. The agent we had was extremely rude, because it was not completed. Next time lady just be kind, and say . please complete the document and come back when completed. I did finally complete it after 45min for my entrie party. Again I go through to a different agent and I am getting grilled about how long am I staying in the country, how many persons in my party. All of this I had just entered into your etravel ? Why is this an issue again. After an hour, we were finally able to pass and collect our belongings and meet our party in pick up. If your coming in be prepared with tip money, either have local pesos or dollares ready . The airport assistance will rush you. It was pretty nutty at arrivals (I will say that.) Domestic Flight: MNL to LAO [MANILA Philippines] For our trip from Manila to Laoag (Ilocos Norte) we took a domestic flight from the Ninoy Aquino Airport (NAIA). Terminal 3 is conveniently just a walking distance from our hotel (Belmont Hotel) in Manila. It is connected to Newport City by a long footbridge so we just walked over to the check-in counters and boarding gates on the 3rd floor. Very convenient. For domestic flights we only had to be at the airport 45 mins before the scheduled departure time but my siblings decided to be at the airport early... like 1-1/2 hours early before our departure time of 3:25a ¯\_('~')_/¯ Terminal 3 is one of the four terminals of the Manila International Airport. I like that it is new, actually, the newest terminal but whoa, it is busy and crowded... it is HUGE with 4 levels. The ground floor is where the arrivals is and the third level is where the departures are. Lots of food, drink and concessions. NAIA in general has incredibly rude staff especially the baggage check security staff. At terminal 3 body scanner the guy thinks he can speak to people anyway he wants. Well some people aren't goin to tolerate his behavior. It's always the baggage check staff that have no editor manners and they clearly hate their jobs. Maybe you shouldn't have a job working with people. You can do you job and be polite at the same time. Terminal 3 staff are the worse. I went to the information desk at NAIA Terminal 3 on 8th January in the afternoon. The two male staff there were completely uninterested and rude, giving answers like they couldn't care less. Their attitude made me feel intimidated and unwelcome, not like a customer seeking help. If they don't want to be there, replace them immediately with people who actually want the job! there are countless others who would be thrilled to work there and treat customers properly. NAIA 3 is way safer than NAIA1 by a million miles; there were no hassles masquerading as fees and not a single scary folks asking for money like swarms. Cebu Pacific was efficient and organized, the airport staff were respectful, polite and kind and we enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere without any fear for pickpockets or harassing criminals. Our experience in Cebu, Bohol and Tagbilaran was an example of the old Philippines; Manila on the other hand needs to be cleansed of folks trying to extort money from visitors and tourists. Not the best airport as compared to other countries. Never been to any place where the staff would lead people to go in a crooked line that tangles with the other lines. NAIA Terminal Three airport is better than terminals one and two. However, that doesn't mean there's no room for improvement. For one, it's newer and cleaner since it was built in 2008. There are lounge type chairs to lay back on, and some other design features that appear a bit more modern compared to the plainer decor at the other two terminals I've been at. Secondly, Terminal Three offers a wider range of amenities and services compared to the other terminals. It has a variety of shops, restaurants, and duty-free stores, providing passengers with more choices for shopping and dining. My husband had a bad luck of getting paint all over the sleeve of his polo shirt before we got to the airport, and we were able to procure a new one quickly at the Izod shop. The salesperson was able to find the perfect shirt for him as he's picky about texture. We did have some trouble with the travel taxes. There's a confusing tax kiosk outside of immigration by check-in that we thought was the same thing we had to pay inside the immigration area. It wasn't. So, we paid 1700 more pesos than we had to. No time or way to get a refund. That was pretty upsetting, and they should have clearer explanations as to what that outside tax kiosk is for. The gate for our flight was upstairs in the terminal, with no bathrooms. You had to go back downstairs for the bathroom. That was another smaller annoyance. Horrible to Americans going back home. I caught flight 190 UA to san Francisco home and the airport decided to add another line of security just for our gate 115. We were definitely singled out. On top of that if we left the gate area we had to go back through search area. We also had no places to obtain water from our water bottles and was forbidden to buying drinks and bringing them on the plane. They stated it was for extra security but when boarding they didn't even ask us for passports and only had to show our boarding passes. We were completely singled out and were treated like animals. Many of the domestic flights in Manila's airport use Terminal 3, especially the lower level. It has too many people and not enough places to sit, not enough working information monitors or restrooms. You have a down escalator but none going up, More shops and food vendors upstairs than downstairs, and a lot of noise. Making this review as I wait for my flight. So I hear that NAIA is under new management. That being said, let me cover some things that I experienced. Arrival at departures in Terminal 3: easy to access and be dropped off, no issues. Entry to terminal, no issues. Check in to United Airlines, Premier access, no issues. No line, I arrived two and a half hours before boarding. Unfortunately no lounge available with United, however I may purchase walk in access for about $30 at another lounge. I had an issue with the air conditioning not being able to handle the spaces to be cooled. It did get more comfortable as it got later in the evening and less passengers in the terminal. The lounges air conditioning was weak at best. Restroom: smells and appears clean. Improvement from my past visit to NAIA. Food and shopping is as expected. Nothing stood out. Overall average, to workable. Lots of room to grow. read more

I always dreaded coming to Terminal 3. There was hardly anywhere to eat, relax, whatever. That's changed. There is a monstrous food court in level 4 outside of the secure area accessible to the public (for the most part). Besides the Burger King there is now McDonald's, Subway, Wendy's along with other local and international faire like Tim Hortons. read more

Very nice and updated terminal compared to NAIA Terminal 1. There was ample space for pulling up to the terminal as many people were just being dropped off. There are a lot of porters upon arrival and they charged 50 pesos ($1) per luggage. They help push the luggage from the curb, luggage scan at the entrance and near the check-in desk. Once by the check-in, we were handed off to another porter. And they helped place the luggage on the conveyor belt to be weighed. (Don't forget to tip all the porters.) Once check-in is done you can venture around the airport. On the second floor, there is a food court with a variety of restaurants. They have Army Navy, Max's Restaurant, Chow King, Wendy's, Burger King, McDonald's, Kenny Rogers Roasters, Potato Corner, the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and many more. Plus many international restaurants serving Chinese and Japanese foods. Also on this floor are a lot of shops that sell snacks for pasalubong and handcrafted Filipino gifts. And also they had a lot of shops like Bath and Body Works and Beauth to Go. So there is plenty to do and see while waiting. They also had reclining massage chairs which I wish I was able to do but I didn't get a chance to. It was like 40 pesos for 10 minutes. Soooo affordable! Flown via Cebu Pacific, the ground staff who are checking the baggage cannot be trusted please be very careful and do not trust easily what they are saying. For context we shown the Lady Security in the Second Floor our hand carry and she approved for it however by the time we went down departure area another lady security stopped us and told us we cannot check in the hand carry as it is oversized we told her that the pre departure security already approved it but she doesn't listen and just kept repeating her narrative as if she is a broken record player. In the end we just paid for it as we do not want to miss our flight. This seems to be like a modus they purposely do to corrupt money from passengers. read more

On my most recent trip to the Philippines, I used NAIA T3 as both the terminal I arrived to/from the US (ANA) and as domestic terminal to/from Boracay via Caticlan Airport via Cebu Pacific. For many years Manila's airport has the reputation of being one of the worst airports in the world. This isn't certainly unfounded. 1. Essentially no free wifi. Technically there is an option but you would have to link it to a number for it to be able to send you an OTP to confirm the wifi. I didn't want to turn on my cell service plus I was never able to figure out the SIM connection here (due to no instructions on activation via the SIM). But unlike most instances of me traveling I was with family and had lots of extended family residing here so I guess this was a non-issue - I ended up using my mom's or my sister's international plan for urgent issues. Plus on the brief occasion I did try to do wifi via my mom's phone the wifi was pretty slow and couldn't hold a stable connection for more than five minutes. 2. NO MACHINES TO TAG BAGS FOR ONLINE BAG DROP NOR REPRINT BOARDING PASSES TO THOSE WHO DID ONLINE CHECK-IN, at least for ANA. For me the emphasis is there because this is an airport *standard*. I try my best to do my check-ins 24 hours prior to the flight to use this service as it eliminates what I need to do at the actual airport the day of. Which leads to the next point... (eta: Sole exception - the budget airline Cebu Pacific has a mobile boarding pass option/bag drop at least on domestic flights. But my Filipino cousin was the one taking care of everything so can't comment about Cebu Pacific's staff other than they were pretty efficient) 3. EXTREMELY LONG LINES. And only one dedicated line for OFWs, which wasn't even used when I was there. To add to the trouble the lines aren't separated by airline, which is also an airport standard. The lines are long because of the following factors. - aforementioned point #2. - check-in counters open pretty late (ANA opened at 0630) - a lot of people had tons of checked bags and balikbayan boxes (not gonna digress on a deeply rooted cultural tradition). - various problems with the check-in process because people don't have the proper documentation (this is not the right time for these issues!) - if arriving, long lines to verify the One Health Pass (two people total with everything filled out correctly, one additional for manual verification). Case in point: flight was at 1030. The family arrived at 0530 but we didn't get to the counter until about 0745. More than *two* hours of waiting in line! As a comparison, in the US it's less than an hour (or in some cases less than 10 minutes due to Premier Access) or abroad an hour at the most because I did online check-in and the counter agent just has to verify passport, vaccination status and bags. 4. I'm Filipino-American who doesn't know any Tagalog. I get that I look the part and the assumption is that I understand the language and they'll give me instructions (at first) in Tagalog. On the instances where I ask to give the instructions in English, the demeanor changes for some of the staff to the point where they treat me as a second class citizen because I'm ignoring my heritage. This is the least of my issues - I just want to get to my destination. 5. On a personal note I almost missed a flight here due to staff incompetence. While the fault is initially United's for issuing me a confusing ticket, having at least low-tier status on the airline meant that a quick call to the premier desk was able to fix the ticket in less than five minutes. It took the desk agent at Manila's airport 3x the amount of time to confirm the reissued ticket and finish my check-in process. At least the staff was rather nice about the issue but I had to insist on staying put and being served next as opposed to falling back in line. 6. Inefficient security process. Like others have been saying, multiple security checks that simply aren't necessary if staff have been trained properly. The reason for two stars instead of one? Clean bathrooms, decent amount of places of to eat and gift shops that will take credit card (no tap pay btw) and the pushcarts are free (as opposed to other countries where you have to pay). There was actually AC throughout the airport and no peddlers asking for tips for providing a service. And I got through immigration/customs just fine with no major issues. read more

Walk at Bay Area 2- Lots of people giving assistance, especially the porters in purple uniform and number. They get paid by the piece of luggage they carry for you. Last time I paid $1 a piece. This airport T3 is probably the worst airport I have ever flown in and out of. It's is so inefficient, the technology is from the 90s and most of the check in is done manually. I took the Runway Manila Skybridge from Pasay to T3. There is a security checkpoint at both ends of the walkway you must go through and that's just to get into the arrival/ check in halls. If you need to take a shuttle to T2 or 1, there is another security checkpoint and staff writing down all your info on a clipboard. Where that data goes, who knows. All this and I haven't even checked in yet. I will say that Manila is a VERY busy airport with people everywhere, but one would think they would make some simple changes to make the flow of passengers more efficient. read more

Next to the departure gates there is a Starbucks, CBTL, Cafe Mary Grace, Kenny Rogers, Mister Donut, and some boutiques and souvenir shops. There's a walkway to Resorts World Casino. Lines are long and slow. Best to come 4 hours before an international flight. There are hardy any self-serving kiosks. You have to get in line to get checked in and get paper boarding passes. Have very few restaurant choices especially after security point to the gates. There are several hotels within a walking distance. Probably the better terminal among the 3 or 4 terminals. Shuttle between terminals is free but unreliable. Flat rate taxis are convenient but 200% to 300% more than a Grab taxi (their version of Uber). This place has changed a lot, definitely a step in the right direction. Pro: Theres finally a duty free shop, along with some decent chain coffee shops. Security is tight, with baggage scan before entering the building, and scans aftwr customs, or upon entering the terminal. Cons: Segregated economy and business or gold class seating at the gate. So even if you can queue in line together, you can't sit at the gate together. WiFi is spotty, and seemingly only allows you 2hours max. read more

Slow and inefficient (transfer between terminals are penned down manually). After going through immigration, a passenger has to go through security again for luggage and must wait for 40mins or longer for a shuttle transfer. Immigration officers are arrogant and unnecessarily rude at first contact; behavior that is uncalled for, and impertinent questions upon entry to the Philippines. Security officers are unhelpful. I overheard one officer asking another airport employee nonchalantly if the old lady on a wheelchair is unable to walk. The officer then had her walk without assistance and just watched her support her own weight as the old lady obviously needing help struggled to take her own luggage. Why? What kind of service is this? In what world is this acceptable? These employees with "important security assignments" seem to be sick of their jobs and are completely miserable. Whereas those who do the menial tasks at the airport pushing carts, assisting passengers on a wheelchair are more courteous and show initiative. What a shame. read more

This is the only terminal in Manila that has STORAGE LOCKERS. It is located at Bay 6, 1st Floor near the restrooms. Flat rate 350PHP or 7USD per day and they will keep your luggages up to 6 months. It's just a little hot here even with the AC on. read more

Arrived at terminal 3 tonight off of United in the manila airport. This terminal has been totally updated and is very clean and modern. There was a huge crowd of people waiting for something, i'm not sure if a celebrity or someone important was coming in off of an airplane, but there was a lot of people. i've never seen that before at this airport but even with as much stuff that was going on there, it is still a very nice airport, pretty well run, very clean, and these are people there are nice and will answer any questions you have. There are a whole bunch of places to eat, money exchanges everywhere, and every corner has a smart booth, so if you want to get a wi-fi or a sim card you can see stop over there and they will help you with your phone or a hotspot. I have flown into manila airport several times already on united or cebu air and everytime i come in there, it's just an adventure. Great people and again, very clean, very organized. i didn't get a chance to check in because i was rushing, however I did get some very nice pictures and they are already set up for christmas. read more

I can't believe there are tons of shops and restaurants here at the airport now. It's awesome! Did not expect it really. The only problem here (which is not new) is the arrival area, there's always havoc in getting a spot where you need to be dropped off. Good thing security guards and personnels are always nice and courteous. Just be careful in handling your luggages though, make sure they are really personnel from the airport or else your belongings will gonna disappear like magic. read more
