The struggle is real. No, really. After several weeks of Crossfit 4-5 days a week, my body was…read moresore. I know, I know... I need to stretch before AND after my workout, for much more than 5-10 minutes. But I'm not good at that, and all this tension built up in my neck, back, and shoulders and I needed relief.
Enter: Aaron Kusatsu. My Crossfit coach (who lifts, like, 10000000x her body weight) recommended that I check out Aaron for some acupuncture. I have never had acupuncture done ever, and I was totally open to trying it. Was a little hesitant only because, well, needles. Anyway, I made an appointment with Aaron (on a Saturday!). He is located on the THIRD floor of the Aiea Medical Building, across from Aiea Bowl, Times, etc. There is paid parking, which you can get your ticket validated by their office. No biggie.
Aaron's office is small, but it serves its purpose. Fast forward to the actual service: it was amazing! First off, if you have never tried acupuncture, do yourself a favor and try it. It is very relaxing! Aaron asked me where my aches and pains were, how long I've had them, what I do on a daily basis that might be aggravating it, and we went from there.
Bonus: he even massaged out all my knots. I left feeling a lot "lighter" than I did when I went in. One more thing I want to add: so, I had hurt my thumb from weightlifting (long story). He had placed one of the needles in that area (of my thumb) and I just want to say that within the next day or two of having that done, my weird thumb joint pain was gone. I'm not kidding. I had felt this weird burst of energy during the procedure. That's as best as I can describe it to you. You'll need to have it done on yourself so that we can talk about this.
Bottom line: Aaron is great. Very attentive to what I needed, to the pressure he was applying to my neck, back, and shoulders, and super friendly. I highly recommend him and will definitely be back to see him soon.
As far as prices go, it depends on the service you're getting. Worth every penny.
Enjoy!
