I have had PVC's and PAC's for 30 years but never realized that sleep apnea was the cause. Also, after putting the mouth appliance in each night, I quickly fall asleep. Before wearing the appliance, it would take 1.5 hours on average to fall asleep. Between the correction of my heart arrhythmias and quickly falling asleep, the mouth appliance has been life-changing for me. It has also stopped my snoring throughout the night! I highly recommend the dental mouth appliance that Dr. Edgar prescribed for me if you are struggling with sleep issues. As for dental issues, Dr. Edgar is very caring and thorough, taking the time to make sure that I understand my dental issues and what to expect. His office is very organized and friendly. He is a great dentist!

Dr. Glass easily could have just treated me for that but instead he referred me to a TMJ specialist, which I had actually been needing for years but had always been told there was no such thing (that TMJ specialist has now finally given me no jaw pain for the first time in about 15-17 years). Dr. Glass didn't even charge me for the x-rays and exam that day, I'm guessing insurance covered it but I've also never not paid something when visiting the dentist. Madalyn is a great dental hygienist. I don't usually like when a hygienist makes conversation, but she was just so nice and held great conversation. She scolded me for my flossing in the just the right way. I also like that they have TVs for my enjoyment during cleanings and that I can choose what to watch. Also, I like that Madalyn did the X-rays, the cleaning, and a preliminary exam before the doctor came into the room, and that the doctor trusted her evaluation. It's a great team dynamic. Dr. Edgar has a great personality and holds good conversation while waiting for anesthesia to kick in. He was very considerate about my TMJ and took a break between fillings in case I was in too much pain. The last time I had fillings (different dentist), as I have awful teeth, I had such a bad migraine and my jaw hurt bad that I was pretty useless the rest of the day. However, after having 3 cavities taken care of today by Dr. Edgar, I was pleasantly surprised that my jaw was not near as sore as I was expecting, even after the anesthesia wore off completely hours later. I really enjoyed Judy who assisted during my fillings, and never made me feel like I had any silly or annoying demands when I asked for something to adjusted, and we enjoyed an episode of Friends together while on my TMJ break. Always trust another Friends appreciator. I hope she assists in my future fillings. Christina, the office manager who also gives the cost estimates is amazing and has great communication. I like that she overestimated, and explained that the original cost estimate was possibly an over estimate as some of my fillings included prices for crowns but might only require normal fillings. She confirmed that I could have nitrous to help relax me but wouldn't be covered by insurance and many many many more questions, and never made me feel like a bother. They do accept a primary and secondary insurance, which a friend told me not all dental offices do.

It matters not how small or large the work that is required. The staff..when I walk in, when I am working with the talented professionals who assist Dr. Miller, when I receive the explanation of costs, the procedure, and executing the payment process, I feel at home. In a Dental office, that is hard to achieve, but at SCD, it is the norm. Kindness, support, courtesy, professional work, and being treated with respect is lacking in most corners of our culture.     I was very much looking forward to coming here, and my first visit as a new patient was a huge…read moredisappointment and a complete waste of time. I have never been in a more painful dental chair in my life - and that includes the emergency room at Parkland hospital. I have not had any issue or problem with the chair at ANY other dentist. As soon as the hygienist finished the x-rays and reclined the chair I was in serious pain,both back and neck. I just have an average, 52 year old bad back, too - no serious spinal condition or neck injury. I can't imagine what being in those chairs for more than a minute or two would feel like for someonewho does. I was told that all the chairs there are the same. The hygienist was nice, friendly, and the desk was as well. I never met the dentist during my new patient visit, although I was told several times she was "on her way back to meet me". Even after I explained to the hygienist what the issue with the chair was, and was told there is no solution, she then told the dentist, and the dentist never made it back to my exam room. Again, a complete waste of time, and a huge, frustrating disappointment. Especially for a first visit to a new practice I was really excited about. The irony here is that I found this practice for my wife and I, and after some research, I booked both our appointments. This was MY idea. Hers was before mine, and she couldn't stop RAVING about how great the dentist is, his care and concern, his chair-side manner was awesome, how wonderful and helpful his assistant was,how great this office is, and we were both excited about my visit the following week. I was scheduled with the other dentist, and had the opposite experience. I can't help but wish I had been scheduled with my wife's dentist, I might have had a similar experience. Instead, I was treated like an afterthought, and ignored by the dentist who couldn't see her way to come to my exam and meet me, and address my concern with the chair. So now, my wife and I, who would have been regular patients at this practice (with a lot of work to be done), are going to find another practice. Because I was scheduled with the other dentist, not the one she had. We left our previous dentist for similar experiences; feeling ignored, like out concerns weren't being heard or addressed. What a disappointment.

I meant to call yesterday to reschedule due to work schedule. She attempted to tell me it would $25 to reschedule since the appt was within the 24 hrs time frame. Then said it was due to me having to reschedule AGAIN. she called at 10:59a. My appt is tomorrow at 330p.. So I said just cancel it. I called back and asked would this 25$ fee be included in my next visit she said no. She goes to say due to the dr only being here on 2 Mondays and only Thursdays and the length of my appointment/procedure is why I was going to get the fee. I said well that should have been explained to me she tells me I am rude and always have Attitude. Ma'am if this was told to me I would not have an attitude but you gave me 3 diff reasons why you trying to charge me 25$. I understand appts are tight for this dr. But don't tell me I always have an attitude when it's always an issue with the front staff. I had a Saturday appt and was told they would call me to set my appt. No call. I had to call them. And the receptionist told me "she forgot to write it down " Again the Drs are great. The office staff is the issue. SMH.
