The facial I received, was the best I ever had! The gentle line they used on me smelled absolutely delicious and is hypoallergenic, which for me is very important since I am allergic to fragrance. I've been going to Nadia for a decade (wow, time really has flown) and she is truly a skin Goddess. When I first went to her, my skin was broken out and I truly had no idea how to manage my skin. Nadia educated me -- and continues to -- on what is the proper washing, products, etc. for my skin. Nadia's energy is very soothing. This, combined with her in-depth knowledge and professionalism, has you feeling relaxed and beautiful when you leave her place. She never pushes products, but only recommends that which she knows which will work for your skin. I go regularly for Dermabrasions. My son has had a teen facial, and my husband has had regular facials. I'm thinking of doing a back facial (is it called that?) before the summer. She also waxes my eyebrows (okay, and occasionally my hairy lip -- shhhh that's our dirty little secret), which I love because she leaves them full yet styled (my eyebrows not my lip). I received the European Facial from Nadia this week and I loved it. Normally after a facial I find my face sensitive, blotchy, and irritated. Not this time! My face felt clean and refreshed. She was thorough but did not over do it where it wasn't needed. Nadia did some extractions which were painless. She wasn't just pouring on and wiping off lotion after lotion, like I find with other facials. She explained everything she was doing and walked me through tips to maintain a healthy glow. The atmosphere was quiet and calm. Nadia made sure I relaxed and enjoyed my service. During my facial she actually noticed I had some bumps on my arms and suggested a special loofah that should take care of it. I really appreciated that she wasn't just concentrating on my face but my body as a whole. She also let me know I could call her any time for advice or questions I may have about my skin. What else can I say but that Nadia is amazing! I have been twice for the European facial. This most recent time I went I had two blemishes which by the next day were also completely healed because of Nadia's expert attention! I had a very good experience, which is currently eclipsing the small negatives enough for me to go up to four stars, rather than go down to three - but if I could, I might go down to 3 1/2 stars. Service received: Epicuren Facial. Experience: Nadia did a very thorough job. She offered helpful maintenance suggestions and didn't aggressively try to sell me anything. Only criticism about the actual service: I've had a few Epicuren facials, and this was the only time I didn't *feel* like I had one - both during and after. Not sure if the application was off, or something - but it was much "lighter" than usual. But like I said, she was super thorough otherwise, and definitely a professional. My biggest issue: the price. Given that this is not an actual spa, $180 is VERY EXPENSIVE for this service in a non-spa or hotel context. Going through Lifebooker, I couldn't find this service for more than $150 with no discount.. When Burke Williams still carried Epicuren, this facial was $150. The place I usually go to in Newport Beach (Spa Gregorie's) currently charges $135, which includes all the lovely spa bells and whistles. I purchased the Yelp voucher, so I got $135 for $100 which offset the cost a little. All that aside, Nadia is definitely a specialist, and you're clearly paying for her many years of expertise.
