Na Village
5 star ambiance with 3 star food. Every aspect of this restaurant is stunning, from the exotic, lush garden with beautiful stone and wood work to the hand painted place settings. Every aspect is gorgeous, with the wood and purple details giving a rich and luxurious feel to the place. Also, the capacity of this restaurant is unbelievable- I could easily see a wedding party being hosted here, with multiple levels of indoor and balcony seating, with the garden offering additional seating outdoors. With the lavish decorations, the whole place (and there is a lot of it!) is a feast for the eyes. Service was also good, with the waitstaff being very attentive throughout the meal.
Unfortunately, when it came to the food, we were not blown away. Coming from the west coast of the U.S. we are not short on good Thai food, and although everything we ordered was cooked well, I cannot say that any dish was particularly flavorful or outstanding. By far, the best thing we tasted was the sauce on the duck. The duck, prawns, chicken and various appetizers (hot and sour soup, dumplings/rolls and shrimp bread) were good but not great, and the portions were all fairly small for the price. We left without ordering dessert. I would recommend the restaurant for a beautiful garden meal, but if you're really craving Thai food I would recommend a less fancy (and probably cheaper) option. read more
