I kept asking the staff what is going on, but they had no information to give other than "just a couple of minutes", repeatedly that staff lied to me. This doctor is rude, mean and tried to blame me for not having x-rays with me. She belittled me and dismissed my questions about the abilities of the office to perform x-rays. She sat and stared at her computer telling me over and over that she had no way of getting my film. I left feeling abused and unheard. This doctor needs her license to practice medicine taken away by the authorities.

This has been, without question, the worst medical procedure I have ever undergone. I left the experience feeling like the focus was more on moving quickly to surgery than on my long-term well-being. I later learned that Dr. McDonald has part ownership in the surgery center where the procedure was performed, which made me uncomfortable. Looking back, I feel sinus surgery was recommended too quickly and the seriousness of it was downplayed. We did not fully explore other medical treatment options first, and I was not adequately prepared for the possibility that surgery could make my symptoms worse rather than better. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened. Since the surgery, my sinus issues have significantly worsened. I've had a sinus infection on and off for the past two months and have gone through three rounds of steroids and three different antibiotics with little to no relief. I am far worse now than I was before the procedure. On top of that, I have completely lost my sense of smell and taste and have been unable to smell or taste anything for over two months, which has had a significant impact on my quality of life. Follow-up care was also disappointing. Communication from the office, especially from the nursing staff, was inconsistent at best. Getting help or answers beyond routine matters often required repeated effort, and important concerns seemed to fall through the cracks. Eventually, I sought a second opinion from another doctor. He offered several treatment options that had never been discussed with me previously, many of which did not involve surgery or repeated oral steroids. It made me realize how limited my original care plan had been. I take some responsibility for trusting the positive reviews and moving forward when I should have slowed down and asked more questions. Still, patients depend on their physicians to clearly explain risks, take concerns seriously, and exhaust reasonable non-surgical treatments before recommending invasive procedures. I strongly encourage anyone considering sinus surgery to get more than one opinion, ask detailed questions, and make sure you fully understand all available options.

However, I am very concerned about the lack of responsiveness from the office staff. For nearly two weeks, I have been trying to schedule my daughter's surgery. I have left multiple messages for Lisa, the Office Manager who coordinates surgeries, but have received no return calls. When I finally reached her on 12/10/2025, she confirmed that preauthorization was complete and said she would check availability with the surgery center and call me back. Unfortunately, she never followed up. Since then, I have continued calling and leaving messages without any response. To provide context, here are the dates I've called: 12/04/2025 12/08/2025 Twice on 12/10/2025 Three times today, 12/12/2025 This level of communication is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable, especially given the importance of timely scheduling for my child's care. Please advise on how this can be resolved immediately.

I'm relatively young so it's nice having someone actually explain why I'm experiencing what I do instead of gaslighting me or attributing everything to anxiety. And he's not afraid to tell the truth of your condition which I appreciate. Yes, the office can run behind some days but that's the unfortunate reality of working in a doctors office. I absolutely recommend Dr. Yoo as your ENT. (Houston ent the company itself can frustrate me if I have to call in and make an appointment. I much prefer the nurses in the office over the Houston ent generic line, but that's almost all major health groups at this point.)

We got the PII and insurance information out of the way. Then we attempted to schedule and appointment. The soonest to their location near me was 12:12pm on Friday. Then I was told that I would need a hearing test first. Ok. That makes perfectly good sense. You sort of need data if you wish to event attempt to speak intelligently on subject. Then I was told that I would need to take the 8:45am, appointment in order to have the hearing test. So I thought the 8:45am would be for the hearing test and then I would see the doctor. No. The 8:45am was to have a consultation with the doctor. Then I was to have the hearing test. She lost me there. The 12:15pm was for a consultation with the doctor as well without a hearing test. A hearing test apparently doesn't matter so why the need to change to 8:45am? I could get the hearing test at a later date. The point is that they wanted me to burn a visit, which is time, money and needlessly goes against my insurance. I asked if I could just get the hearing test. Of course. But I would still have to have the consultation and followup visit. Huh. Sound like they're just padding the books. I should've been given the hearing test and then seen the doctor. Then we'd actually have something to talk about. You know. Those little data details called test results. The young woman was nice. She did tell that she hoped I got the help I needed. Man. So do I. A doctor's office that is more concerned about my health than its bottom line would certainly be nice. Sad day...calling them only made the ringing in my ears worse.

I was having issues with my ears. I knew I had wax build up and bought those stupid wax removal kits (that do not work) TWICE. The wax was so bad that my balance was off, I would get dizzy while running and my inner ears would sometimes close shut while asleep on my pillow and then I'd have to carefully open them again..TMI, right? I know... Anyway, DR. PATEL!!!!! She was so amazing. She was very personable and walked me through the process. She safely and painlessly excavated all of my impacted wax! I FEEL LIKE A NEW WOMAN!!! LOL.. the office was neat and clean, Dr. Patel's nurse was super nice, the receptionist was friendly and best of all, they used a paperless electronic questionnaire system similar to an ipad that made checking in a breeze! I came back to work and told all of my co-workers that they need to go and get this done! I can hear so much better now!
