This review is only for the Doctor himself, not the staff or nurses. I cannot state the strongly enough, do not use Dr. Strunk! He has no regard whatsoever for a patients comfort or the ability to tell if what he is doing is causing pain. I went to see Dr. Miller because I had severe pain, pressure, and red drainage in my left ear- turns out it was perforated. Dr. Miller did a thorough exam and explained everything to me. She was able to pinpoint my deviated septum as playing a big role in the issue. She has a wonderful bedside manner and I am coming back in 3 weeks for a follow up. Dr. Miller, Sherri, and her front desk staff were amazing and so kind- which I really appreciated when I felt like I was having the worst pain in my life. I had to leave a review because I work work in healthcare and I am so impressed with the care I received from them. We have been seeing Dr. Miller and Shauna for years as both my wife and I regularly have sinus issues (usually a sinus infection for me), although I have been treated for ear and throat problems too. This office is so well thought of that they usually are pretty busy but we can often get an appointment within a day of when we call in. Front office desk staff are pleasant and professional. All around great experience for us. I hate to see doctors because it means something is wrong but if I have to go, I'll go here. read more

I have never been to an ENT previously, but I've been to plenty of doctors offices over the years. I was VERY impressed with every aspect of this office. The front office staff was SO friendly and I had a very short wait time. I didn't have a ton of paperwork to fill out, which is a definite plus. Dr Tran was very thorough, really taking the time to hear my concerns, he asked a lot of questions, and made my procedure very simple. Dr Miller is a personal friend, so I know she would be a FANTASTIC caregiver, as well! (She was out of town but took time out of her day to make sure that I got squeezed in to the office the very same day that I voiced a concern. We will be loyal patients forever!! read more

I've been here twice and both times they did procedures in the office that I feel were not required and more imporantly weren't covered by my copay. It is very upsetting to check out to find out you owe $150 when you only expected to pay a $25 copay. The doctors and staff should be more upfront when suggesting a procedure (like hearing test or nasal scope) that they procedure may not be covered by the copay. I won't be going back. I'd rather find a doctor that can be more upfront about things that might cost me extra. read more

First visit to this office. Staff was courteous, checkin painless. They let me know up front what my costs for the visit and audiology testing would be, which I really appreciated. Dr. Tran was very thorough, easy to talk to, and explained everything and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend him for your ENT needs. read more

We saw Dr. Tran. and his staff for my newborn's tongue tie. Dr. Tran really listened, spend time explaining and answering ALL my questions. He was able to fix my son's tongue tie perfectly, and he and his staff were friendly and compassionate about all our breastfeeding difficulties. I recommend this office! read more

We have seen both Shauna and Dr. Strunk. I was impressed with both. Shauna had an awesome attitude and was great with my six year old. She took her time to explain what was going on and what the plan was. I really liked the fact that she took the time to really listen to my concerns about my son and was able to give me answers to problems he had been having. She made a diagnosis and had a plan. As a mom, I was relieved to finally know my son would feel better! The office staff was great, front desk, nurses, and checkout. They are very flexible with scheduling, which I liked that I didn't have to wait along time to get my son in to be seen. We highly recommend!! read more

I went to three different doctors for my problem, (recurring tonsillitis) The previous doctors prescribed me stuff that didn't work and didn't really know what was going on, also they didn't seem very thorough. I was finally referred to this place: first off, the staff was amazing and friendly. Shauna is funny, caring, and very smart. She made me feel hopeful and when I told her I was afraid of needles she even put a topical numbing cream on my arm before I went to get my blood taken. They never gave up. I was almost in tears because I was so tired of constantly being sick. So, after extensive testing, I decided to get my tonsils removed. Each episode of illness I had they got me in and treated right away. The steroid shot they give is incredible. It makes me feel better within 24 hours. But it wasn't a solution, when they suggested surgery I was pretty nervous... I knew it was coming to that (I was getting sick every month and we tried every antibiotic we could. Including long-term ones. And on my own time I even tried apple cider vinegar shots with honey... nothing helped) Now, at the age of 25 a tonsillectomy isn't a picnic. It was Probably one of the most painful recoveries I've had from any surgery. But I was after doing some research I was expecting that. Dr. Miller was the one to perform my Surgery and she made me so comfortable. They called and checked on me and made sure my recovery was as good as possible, I even got another steroid shot when swallowing became an issue. It worked wonders. I would gladly suffer through 10 days of painful recovery for a lifetime free of strep. Thank you to everyone there that helped me through this. You guys all rock read more

I saw the physician assistant, Shauna McLaughlin for sinus infections. She was really friendly and sweet. I felt like she listened to my issues and helped me out! I have been taking my child to see Dr. Miller since early 2013; she's placed tubes in my child's ears twice. We had a 6 month post op scheduled for June. We drove over an hour to get there, only to find out that Dr. Miller was in a scheduled surgery and the audiologist was on a scheduled vacation (we had deliberately chosen that date for the audiologist's availability). I was upset, but I rescheduled. (They claimed to have tried to reach me, but they have two alternative phone numbers and never called either of them). I don't recall the details, but the next available appointment that worked with my schedule was toward the end of August. Fast forward to today. This morning, the office called because Dr. Miller has again scheduled a surgery for during our appointment time, and we need to reschedule. Because of the time of year, this means that my child would have to miss an entire day of school. When I called the office back, I spoke with Ally. I said that this had happened once before, and I was very upset. She talked over me to get me to reschedule, clearly not listening to a word I was saying. Not once during our phone conversation did she apologize for the inconvenience or express concern that this has happened twice in a row. She clearly didn't care that her office had inconvenienced us. I expect office personnel to do their jobs, but I really think they've done their jobs so long as they're courteous and helpful (or sympathetic if they can't help) and they schedule appointments appropriately. Dr. Miller is awesome, but after today I can't vouch for the office staff's competence. We'll be finding a different ENT that can actually show up for scheduled appointments. read more

Switched to new ENT Clinic and had my 1st visit with Dr Tran today. 5 star experience from making same day appointment, check in and out with front office, initial history with medical assistant, and hearing test. Dr Tran is awesome...very knowledgeable, thorough in exam and explanation of my problem and plan of action. Great at listening and answering all my questions. So happy I went here and highly recommend them and Dr Tran!!! read more

Great doctor! Really listens to you and takes time to explain why a procedure is necessary...if you just ask.

I've been to Bay Area ENT twice, once for me and once for my 14-month-old daughter, and will not be going back. Long story short, I wasted my afternoon and ~$100 only for Dr. Strunk to tell me that he doesn't do the type of procedure that I had taken my daughter in to see him for. My question is: Why didn't the staff tell me that when I scheduled the appointment or when I was in a week earlier for my appointment with the nurse practitioner and mentioned specifically why I was going to be bringing my daughter in the following week? It's obvious that they did not care about us and only wanted our money. On top of that, I specifically asked if they worked with young children, like my 14-month-old. They claimed that they did, but were not very friendly to my daughter. The doctor didn't bother to try to warm up to her, just started examining her (and was rough, might I add) and then had the nerve to make a big deal that she kicked, screamed and moved around so much. He didn't act like he cared at all or was even sorry that I had wasted our time and money. My appointment a week before was a total waste of time and money too. The nurse practitioner said she was prescribing 2 medications and sending the Rx directly to the pharmacy electronically. I called the pharmacy after I left to get an estimate of the time it would take to fill and learned that they had only received 1 Rx and they needed the doctor's office to get pre-authorization from the insurance company on that one. I called the doctor's office to let them know and it took them a week to come back to me to say that my insurance would not approve and several days to finally call in the 2nd one. After all that, I still gave them the benefit of the doubt, and still followed through with my daughter's appointment. I should've gone with my gut feeling from the beginning. Needless to say, I've cancelled my follow-up appointment. They need to realize that we as consumers have a choice in providers... read more

I was recommended to this office by a friend who had her sinus surgery performed by Dr. Miller. Although I was not able to see Dr. Miller I did see her PA Shauna. Shauna was great. She was very thorough and personable. Listened to my symptoms and wasn't quick to just write me a prescription and send me on my way. I had a CT scan that very same day in the office. She was able to tell and show me what was wrong w/ my sinuses. Now, my sinus infection is gone and I feel 100% better. read more

Talk about AMAZING! I am not a big fan of doctors, but this clinic is awesome. My son was sick Friday morning, and without hesitation they took us in even though he was a new patient. They were so kind and gentle with my son and even educated me on prevention. Who knew strep germs stick to a toothbrush?? THEY DID! I cannot say enough about how impressed I was.
