Organized mayhem, is the only words I have for the European train stations. As a visitor, it was a bit hectic for us, but we were able to get to our train and then we were able to navigate to the subway system to get close to our hotel. The longer we stayed in country the easier we found it to be able to navigate thru.

Quite clean and nice train station. Main 26 tracks easy to find- bit of a walk if on a lesser (higher #) track. Not as fancy and efficient feeling as say train stations in Japan, but generally things running on-time.

7/9/2024 - took an Uber for 13 euros from the Hotel Isartor for a 15 minute drive instead of the bus or U-train. Landed in the center of Munich Train Central Station. Off memory, tracks 5-21 is visible. Have to walk all the way down the halls to you see sign for 22-29. There is an information booth inside if you have questions, a Starbucks a few places to grab food and drinks to save money than buying in the train. No issues. Have fun in your travels. Next stop is Switzerland.

We had a trip to Stuggart from here. Tickets were easy to purchase from the self serve kiosk. Although our Concierge mentioned it can get busy and, if so, to use the DSB app. 29 Platforms with a Standard amount of shops/restaurants. A couple of Cafes including a Starbucks, sandwich shops and small grocery store. Not much for seating or waiting areas. Although it was crowded at 10:30 on a Thursday morning, we were able to navigate getting tickets less than a half hour before our trip. Our train departed on time.

Comfy seat by the window. With charging port beneath the table!

The central train station in Munich is large, busy, and efficient. We took the S-Bahn here from our hotel for a quick, overnight trip to Salzburg. Easily found our platform abs grabbed a coffee and snacks before our train departed. Friendly and helpful staff, great signage everywhere, and on time trains are just standard in Europe making travel so easy and cheap! Love it.

Incredibly busy train station - even on Sunday. German trains arrive and leave ON TIME. Just for future reference, if you're riding first class, don't wait way down by the initial entrance to the track. There are 2 first class compartments and they are at the front of the train. I tried to explain this to the man, but no eschuca nada. So now we're running like idiots with heavy luggage to the front of the train. To top it off, the man has lost our paper tickets. Germans want that ticket, and you must have it BEFORE you enter. Always have a pic of your E-ticket readily available. Started the day to Stuttgart with a panic attack followed by a heart attack.

I connected through here a bunch of times as our Airbnb was outside the city but accessible by S-Bahn. The Hauptbahnhof is the central station of Munich and everything stops here. Trams, buses, underground, commuter and regional trains. It is very much the center of activity. As such, the station is super busy and packed with people at all times of the day and night. Excellent signage with easy to understand icons that show you how to get from one transportation mode to another. Lots of self-service kiosks that sell tickets. Lots of food and shopping opportunities. It's an organized chaos. If you don't know where you're headed and still trying to work it out, may I suggest that you please step to the side and out of the flow of traffic? Also, Americans need to understand that you MUST stand to the right on escalators and not block the whole thing. [Review 11995 overall, 1778 of 2019.]

A large train station in Munich that we used a few times while here in Germany. Public Transportation in Germany is phenomenal- both efficient and affordable. The only reason for my 4 star review is the condition of the train station elevators- every time we used them, they smelled terrible. Other elevators we used in Munich were clean. A very nice train employee took a photo of us right now. I didn't get her name, but she is from South Africa. We are taking a train today to Switzerland . THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING MEMORIES GERMANY !

Not one of the prettiest stations in Munich - but super useful. I used this station almost daily…read moreover 9 days in Munich and this one in particular stops directly at the Hilton and even has it's own entrance to the hotel at one of the exits. There is a ton of shopping here with an Aldi and a local store, a bunch of bakeries and eateries as well as a pharmacy where we got our pre-flight COVID test for return to USA. Central to almost everything and can take you to the main train station in Munich and back to the airport for departure for a reasonable fee.

This is a very useful station. I was based at the Munich Hilton while staying in town and so used…read morethis station several times a day. The location is great...you're five minutes from Marienplatz and it was so easy to get anywhere from here. Additionally, if you're staying at the Hilton (or the Holiday Inn) you can go straight from the train to the hotel without even going outside. Just make sure you exit toward the front of the train if you're coming from the airport. The station was pretty clean and they had chocolate covered peanuts in the vending machine on the platform for only one Euro. Believe me, if you've been drinking somewhere, those are a welcome snack on your way back to your hotel room. At one of the exits, near where you can pick up the tram, the escalator was not working so that knocks it down a star. But I thought this was a great base camp for my Munich adventures.
