    I started my policy on January 20 and submitted all required documentation the same day. I received…read moreconfirmation and the policy was issued. A week later, my rate increased because I had not yet used the dynamic drive app. I explained that the vehicle had just been purchased from an auction and was still in the shop. After clarification, they credited the account and adjusted the rate back. Shortly after that, I received an email stating they had not received prior insurance documentation despite the fact that it had already been submitted on January 20. I had to speak with four different customer service representatives before they finally located the documents. I was told the rate would be corrected back to the agreed amount. Two weeks passed and nothing was adjusted. Due to the repeated billing inconsistencies and lack of follow-through, I canceled the policy before the next payment due date (the 20th) and switched providers. After canceling, I received an email stating I owed a balance related to automatic draft cancellation. This entire experience was frustrating and unnecessarily complicated. Clear communication, accurate documentation handling, and consistent billing are fundamental expectations when purchasing insurance. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet those standards.

    DO NOT PURCHASE FROM JOHN HANCOCK INSURANCE!…read more To anyone looking to purchase a long term health plan for you or your senior parents, here is a buyer beware story. Please take careful notice of whom you purchase from and DO NOT PURCHASE FROM JOHN HANCOCK INSURANCE! My 88 year old mother, a woman who had 13 children and sacrificed more than any of us can imagine, has twice been denied from receiving the benefits of her long term health insurance policy because the company claims she can get around "fine." They denied her last August, even though she can barely see and fell 5 times last year. Last October she fell and broke her hip and could no longer safely live in her home of 50+ years. She uses a wheel chair and a walker to get around and can barely pick up her feet because she is so weak and unsteady on her feet. She is losing her eyesight because of glaucoma and macular degeneration. This shameful insurance company, a company that we trusted to treat our mother with respect and decency in her old age, is denying her the right to live with the safety of knowing that she did the right thing by purchasing insurance to keep a roof over her head. Our father spent his life touting the benefits of insurance, as he was an agent himself (thankfully for a different company), so it's painful to have to share this story with the public; however, we are at a loss as to what to do. How incapacitated does one's mother have to be in order for this company to grant her this policy? She can not take her medicine on her own, she can hardly shuffle herself around the room, she has fallen again in her assisted living facility, and she needs 24 hour care. Even her assisted living facility is shocked that she was denied, again. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM JOHN HANCOCK INSURANCE! At the bottom of their policy it gives a number to call if we'd like to sue them which tells us that they've been down this road many times before. Do they just expect people to give up and not sue? DO NOT PURCHASE FROM JOHN HANCOCK INSURANCE! I'd give this company 0 stars if I could.
