Dan came to our house and worked solid for two hours. He hung a new light in my bathroom, fixed the door handles, went in our scary attic and attached a venting pipe that fell down. He also moved hinges on a cabinet above our refrigerator so we could open it. We thought we were going to have to shorten the cabinet but he figured it out. Today was the best day of my life! Finally, after a decade-long search of trying to find a handyman only to be overcharged and dissatisfied with the job they were to do, I finally found a real keeper! Let be back up for a moment to give you some background. I was widowed 10 years ago and gladly left CA to move to WA state to buy a home and live happily after. Prior to the move, I was in fairly good physical condition, but long story short, during the first year here, I had to have major back surgery, which has hindered my ability to bend, squat, stand, etc. The first time I used a ladder, I fell off. I mention these things because over the years, I've hired handyman services for the normal repairs that come with owning a home. I've been disappointed in the results of their work until today, when I met Daniel. He was prompt, quickly got to work crossing off item after item on my 'to-do' list until they were all completed. In one visit, he patched a hole in my drywall, fixed my favorite recliner chair which I thought was a goner, cleaned my gutters, repaired a leaky outside faucet, changed out my smoke alarm batteries which although I thought I had four 9Vs, it turned out I only had 2. Daniel left and returned with two more batteries to complete that job -- where do you find that kind of service these days? He also repaired the latch key on my fence door, and at least 5 other things. I offered for him to come back because I hadn't realized how much needed to be done, but he chose to stay and finish it all. Daniel's prices are extremely reasonable and his work is top-notch. I know you'll be just as pleased as I am. I'll personally never call anyone else before I check to see if it's something Daniel can do first. Today was definitely my lucky day and I can't express enough what a talented, gracious and reasonable man Daniel is. You'll love him too. Even though his business page shows responds to messages with in 2 days, Daniel emailed back in just a few minutes. My garage door opener back up battery was chirping and needed to be replaced. I already had the new battery, just needed someone to pull out the old one and replace it with the new one. I can't reach above my head because of a back injury so I can't do this for myself. The local garage door company wanted $160 labor just to pull into my drive way. As I knew this wouldn't take long and I remembered Daniel did the previous replacement 4 years ago I was very happy to have him back to do the job for less than half that price. My quote request was submitted around 9am, he emailed in 3 minutes and we arranged for him to come later the same afternoon. He called at 2:30pm to say he would be there by 2:45pm. He was right on time, pulled the old battery (which always requires some tight maneuvering as the the battery compartment is barely bigger than the battery, even the opener installer had problems when he installed it!) Daniel was done, and the chirping battery was silent by 3pm. He's a great guy, very knowledgeable and has the best prices around. Daniel of Myselfe Handyman Services did a great job at a very reasonable cost for me earlier this week and I definitely recommend him. I had a list of things, each one of which was a relatively small project, but they were things I couldn't take care of myself and he took care of them all in a very timely and affordable way. Replace burned out fluorescent light bulbs in kitchen (and took the time to ask if I wanted to try LED bulbs, which indeed I do like much better). He replaced a broken wooden step on my back yard patio that I regularly use and would've been dangerous to leave unrepaired. He replaced broken switches for two bathroom fans that hadn't been working for quite some time, cleaned them, and got them up and running again. He repaired a problem with my outside gate, removed a garden hose from a faucet where it had calcified on and I wanted to replace the hose. And dealt with some issues related to a window blind and not working lamps. It was a big relief to me to get these things taken care of. Daniel is also very personable and pleasant to work with. I mentioned I was also looking for someone to do some yard spring cleanup work, and I very much appreciated that he was able and willing to make a referral in that area, a referral which also worked out very well for me. Whether it is another list of smaller projects, or a larger project, I'm sure I will be giving Daniel a call in the future. read more
