Parked in site with concrete patio & fire ring

Stayed four nights in apremium site in the front portion of the campground. Our site was level, full hookups with cable, and featured a private deck back of the site that overlooked Withers Swash, a small tidal inlet. The campground is very attractive, most,y wooded sites. There is adequate space between sites. There's a small playground, bikeand golf cart rentals, and the popular KOA jumping pillow saw a lot of delighted users while we were there. cons seemed to us that the camp store closes at 4 pm daily, which seems to be ridiculous when check in time is 3 pm. While quiet hours seemed to be honored by campers, it is still REALLY annoying to have some who are blasting music loud enough to rattle our windows when we are five sites away. And, when you pay for a premium site, it's annoying to have to hike 1/4 of a mile uphill to the OTHER side of the campground to get to a bathouse to shower. all in all, a nice campground.

You park on the concrete pad, that is where they blow. They mow, etc your spots grass that is inches away. Actually they have to go under the slide-outs, to mow. What is this the Mafia? To much pressure! With the cost of RV's these days & possible damage, extra training should be involved.

It was super easy to book online and they called right after to confirm and share details before we arrived. Since it was December I only booked a few weeks before but I'm sure during peak season you'll have to book earlier. There are 100+ sites that have a concrete pad with a picnic table and fire pit. Check-in was simple but know there are two entrances and one is locked until you get a code. Devon at the front desk was very friendly. She shared some area activities and restaurants. The park was clean, well organized and there was a lot of large RV's. It has a beautiful view of the intracoastal with decks, a trail around a small pond, kayak rentals, dog park and activities hall. We missed all their Christmas events but enjoyed walking around and hanging out at our site. We used the fire pit every night for dinner. They also have a bathhouse with separate bathrooms which was nice but could use a little refreshing. The staff was awesome cleaning the grounds and they even had daily trash pickup from your site. We will definitely come back to this park.

It gets a little confusing because apparently part of the campground has been sold to Carolina Shores. However, the guest houses are a different story. We've stayed twice in a "dog friendly" rental. We will NOT do it again. When we got there (in the pouring rain) the smell of disinfectant was overpowering. We had to open all the windows. Here is what we observed: 1. Frying pans are disgusting. Teflon was so scratched you could see silver. 2. Two ice trays but nothing to put ice in. We used the largest pan. 3. 2 small saucepans. 4. No rugs in bathroom and no handicap bars. Very slippery getting out of shower. (We bought rugs). 5. No rug front door (inside or out). (Unpacked in the pouring rain) 6. Smoke alarm went off on the 13th with nothing cooking. Went off again. Repair came and they found they were missing a smoke detector in the bedroom. They fixed the damaged smoke detector still no smoke detector in the third bedroom that we were using. 7. Bathroom sink didn't drain correctly. Had to keep turning the water off and on. 8. Nightstand not near the bed...rooms are too small. Mattress is hard as a rock and noisy. 9. They give you a mop (you have to clean the place before you leave to get security deposit back) but there is no bucket or anything to hold water to use the mop. I called the office and they told me to use the kitchen sink. 10. Refrigerator has rust stains all over the left side. Kitchen sink faucet is dirty at the bottom but you can't clean it. 11. Pulled the chain on the fan and it came off, 12. Lamp in bedroom two is so wobbly the shade fell off. 13. No baking sheets...nothing to bake anything on. 14. If you do find a way to bake something...no potholders. 15. One wineglass....No corkscrew to open wine. 16. The stove top. None of the "coils" would lay flat. We had to prop the pan up with a box. We could have spent much less by staying in an Air BNB which we will do in the future. Best advice, be ready to head to Walmart to get everything you will need (which will be a lot).

Gave me the impression that is not a customer friendly campground. I wasn't given the discount because I didn't ask for it, no refunds after the site has been reserved, no credits either. Upon arrival we were waiting to be checked in behind a Class A rig by the gate house and due to the size of the Class A I could not read the tiny sign indicating that if there was nobody at the gate to come inside, finally when that rig moved I realized I had to go inside, another 5 or six minutes wasted after 3pm no big deal but it adds up to my initial disconformity. The place is huge! I have never been to a campground with over 1000 sites not one hundred but one thousand! Very hard water but that is not their fault, city water. Got to our site and it looks ok but but but it is not concrete and it is not gravel, it is a combination of dirt sand and leaves. That tells me the site may have been vacant for several days and the 25 dollar fee is not even justified because I am not rushing employees to clean up the site that just became available the day of my arrival. Dirt and sand, no problem as long as there is no rain because I brought my 14 X 14 rug but guess what it rained all day the day before our departure and it was a bit of a mess even if we take our shoes off inside the coach. We didn't partake in any of the amenities available like the water park and the corn hole etc because of the convention we were attending here and BTW the facility we were given was very nice to accommodate about 80 plus of us. I take one star for the fact that my site wasn't quite level and for the dirt, it is not even gravel for goodness sake. I wouldn't call it a resort unless every site was concrete Would I come back? Yes just because the beach right there a few feet from the sites that are closest to the Information Center where we gather every day for our conference. It turns out they give a discount but they won't offer it to you unless you ASK for it and because I didn't ask at the time I booked they refused to refund because it is run by a corporation with dozens and tens of dozens of employees. Inclined to take two stars but because I had a great time with our new friends at the convention I am leaving this place very happy and wishing to come back when it is not raining ALL DAY with a bloody mess on my shoes with all the dirt and sand. Water park inside for the youngins but the dirt and sand prevents me from calling a five star resort but a four star campground
