If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Our experience with this KOA was excellent. First when we checked in I didn't pick the correct space for our size RV and the employee assisted us in getting an upgrade at a discounted rate. Our new place was beautiful. Everywhere in the resort was clean and well maintained. The pool was very clean. While swimming an employee went around and offered free ice creams sandwiches to the guests. Bad time for me to be on a diet. This is the third annual visit to the Myrtle Beach KOA and I hope to come back soon. read more

When I walked into the cabin I rented it was like an oven. I turned both heaters off and opened the windows I don't know what the deal with that was. The TV at the KOA sucks big time. There was two big controllers I couldn't figure out why they weren't working so they had a guy come and look. Apparently there was a third controller in the bedroom that I didn't see that turn the TV on. So if you have accounts like Netflix or Amazon prime you can log into them and watch stuff. There wasn't a whole Lot of channels, there was Will and Grace and save by the bell. So I watch saved by the bell. But apparently if somebody logged into your TV somehow because it kept glitching out and then it says that this person logged into my TV about 6 times. Then it would exit out everything. The TV would constantly freeze and not do anything, will post video on yelp of this. If you're watching for more than an hour it will just turn off by itself. The Wi-Fi didn't work at all while I was there. I tried on three separate devices and the Wi-Fi didn't even show up. I don't know why they would clean the mini fridge with simple green or something similar. You open it and I got a big wiff of simple green. I had an expensive cheesecake in there, pasta and Starbucks. The next day I went to eat it and the cheesecake tasted like cleaner... I had to throw everything away... $70 worth of food in the trash. You're not supposed to use those kind of cleaners in fridges. Dog park- the dog park was OK but it would be nice to have some grass instead of just dirt and mud. So I was just passing by. I need some water so I pulled in and spoke to Marcus in another one of the colleagues said I needed some water. Just go to the dump station. I couldn't get the hose off broke off the cut off valve Marcus came to my rescueshut the valve off Cool collective didn't make me feel like I was a bonehead for breaking their water, let me still fill up the water on one of the campsites look at the campsite well shaded I highly recommend this place. Stayed here with my family from Thursday May 9th 2024 - Wednesday May 15th 2024, but stayed until Tuesday May 14th 2024 because of our long ride home. Very nice and quiet campground, and an easy pull through site. This time, we got a site with patio chairs and a picnic table, in which we used. We also went in the pool this time, and they have 3 pools in total: 1 kiddie pool with water cannons, and 2 regular pools that only go up to 5 feet. For May the pool was a bit cold, but felt refreshing on the hot day that i went in. There are plenty of lounge chairs, which is always good. overall, had an okay vacation. read more

Came her for propane fill, 7.1 GALLONS came to over $38. Almost twice what everyone is charging. When I questioned it the no nothing behind the counter said " we sell it by the pound" ABSOULTY FALSE!! Even the meter on the propane refill measures in gallons. Mine was 7.1 gallons. I asked why so expensive? The reply washout have to do the math"? Really? Propane is sold by the gallon, litterly LPG, the first letter stands for LIQUID! These people behind the counter are rude and obnoxious, should not be dealing with the public! NEVER COMING BACK! NOT FOR CAMPING FOR ANYTHING!! read more

Stayed here in a one room cabin 9/8-9/15 2024. The cabin we were in was an older one and the door would only open half way because it stuck to the floor making carrying in coolers and luggage a little difficult. The floor was also dusty, gritty dirty and walking around barefoot turned you feet black within minutes. It had A/C and that was it unlike other KOA one room cabins we have stayed in that had A/C, a small microwave, mini fridge, tv and a ceiling fan. If we would have had a mini fridge we could have saved $14 on bagged ice cost over the course of the week. It also had no smoke detector when we arrive but one was installed quickly the next day when we asked. Both the wife and I agreed that this was not a "resort" and we should not have been charged the $10 a day "resort" fee which added $70 to our bill for the week. All staff we encountered were friendly and we saw them cleaning the bath house, emptying trash and picking up the grounds through out the day. We loved being in the woods and being able to have a campfire and listen to the cicadas and owls at night. With that being said, we had two major issues during our stay. One was homeless people trying to get into the bath houses so they kept having to change the code to get in, but would not inform us campers of the change until we tried to use the bath house and the code didn't work and we would have to call the office for the new code. The worst issue we had was when we returned from dinner Saturday night 9/14, the cabin next to us had a hell raising, bass thumping, profanity laced, pot smoking party going on. One guy who was very drunk, stoned or both and was highly agitated and aggressive cussing and wanting to fight everyone including security who arrived quickly once we called. Once they were told the cops were being called, they all scattered like roaches when you turn on a light, probably because they all had outstanding warrants. How was this allowed to happen in the first place as none of the cars had a hang tag to allow them into the campground, so did whoever was working the guard shack that night just let them in anyway?? And what kind of people thinks that this type of behavior and language is acceptable in a family campground?? If you want to act this way, go back up into the backwoods up in the holler and do it there and don't force other people to deal with your shitty behavior, but these types of people don't care as most people act anyway they want to in public these days because they have no common courtesy, decency or respect for others any more and no longer know how to act civilly in public. The family camping across from us had small kids that were scared by what was happening and the mom was very upset they had to hear that kind of language and witness that kind of behavior. When we checked out Sunday morning 9/15 one of the managers was on duty and profusely apologized for what happened and said she was going to get to bottom of how something like this was allowed to happen in the first place. She said she knew it ruined our night and gave us credit for that nights stay which was appreciated. I contacted KOA corporate the next day about this incident and the response I got was basically sorry 'bout your luck, but we don't want to get involved or help you in any way and told me to handle it through the Myrtle Beach KOA. WOW! SMFH! You would think corporate would be concerned about something like this happening in one of their campgrounds and would want to investigate as to how this was allowed to happen in the first place, but obviously not! Over all this is one of the worst KOA's we have stayed at as we have stayed at much nicer KOA's for the same or less money and have not had to deal with any of the issues that we had to at this one, so a return visit to this KOA will not be happening and after the response I got from corporate, KOA will no longer be one of our choices for a campground in the future as I will not give my hard earned money to a company that clearly shows it doesn't give a damn about its customers. The next time we come to the beach to camp we will be staying at the Myrtle Beach State Park where we have had many nice camping experiences. We have even camped at the state park during bike week and the bikers were way more well behaved than the group we had to deal with at this KOA. I wish now we had stayed at the state park instead on this trip. read more

Stayed four nights in apremium site in the front portion of the campground. Our site was level, full hookups with cable, and featured a private deck back of the site that overlooked Withers Swash, a small tidal inlet. The campground is very attractive, most,y wooded sites. There is adequate space between sites. There's a small playground, bikeand golf cart rentals, and the popular KOA jumping pillow saw a lot of delighted users while we were there. cons seemed to us that the camp store closes at 4 pm daily, which seems to be ridiculous when check in time is 3 pm. While quiet hours seemed to be honored by campers, it is still REALLY annoying to have some who are blasting music loud enough to rattle our windows when we are five sites away. And, when you pay for a premium site, it's annoying to have to hike 1/4 of a mile uphill to the OTHER side of the campground to get to a bathouse to shower. all in all, a nice campground. read more

This KOA has the potential of being something special if it were actually maintained. Our cabin was a mess and didn't look like it had been swept in months. After I swept, I had more debris than the dust pan could hold. Everything is filthy, including the bathroom stalls and shower stalls. I even had to take cold showers because they allowed their three huge propane tanks to go empty. That's how poorly maintained this place is. Never coming back. 2 stars because of the location. read more

This is probably one of the nicer KOAs we've stayed in. They do a good job of keeping the grounds clean and the grass cut short (which is nice during snake season if you're walking dogs). Very nice patio area with a bbq, fire pit and 2 Adirondack chairs, patio bench table, and a table with chairs and umbrella. Lots of tall trees. Because we were in RV, we did not go inside the bathrooms. We also did not use the pool. Therefore, I cannot address those issues other than to say while passing by they appeared clean and well kept. The one negative is the dog park was over 600 steps from the RV, which kind of sucks when it's really hot out. I believe they need a couple more dog parks on property. Some folks did not pick up after their dogs and don't think the employees do. Also, no water at the dog park. read more

My family (four kids) and I were looking forward to our stay here due to the pool and splash-pad in the SC heat. When we showed up the splash pad was "out of service" and the pool was so tiny and overly crowded. We were not able to use either. We tried to rent a golf cart but none were available and they won't let you bring your own or rent from anyone that isn't on their approval list. The sites were well laid out and shaded with gorgeous pines. I would definitely go back when things are a little less busy and they get their facilities in order and working. read more

First time staying at a KOA. Was the 'best' alternative with kids since we did not have enough people to rent a house. We stayed in a microcabin (MC), which is fully furnished and nice. Pros: -MC was super clean, bed was comfortable and plenty of room for kids. -MC kitchen was perfect for what we needed, having a grill provided was nice perk -MC bathroom was perfect -Checkin was really easy, and any supplies bought you could just put on your card they had on file, made things go fast. -KOA Is shaded really well -KOA pools are very nice for kids, a baby pool, and toddler/kid pool and a older kid/adult pool. + a splash pad. -Have a food shack open starting on Thursdays. Food is sooo good. -Staff was very friendly -KOA was clean, trash pickup each day by staff members. -Plenty of kid friendly things to do starting on thursdays -You can rent a golf cart to use to take to beach, which was much easier than trying to maneuver a car near the beach access. -They have a shufftle to take to beach for free, runs every hr, (we did not use since we rented a golfcart) -MC pricing i thought was fair, $220ish/night, which I guess may seem expensive to some who camp with campers, but when hotel prices are ridiculously high and we do not open a camper (yet), this seemed super cheap. Cons: -Office open until 4, after that all checkin have to be done at the gate. If you need supplies after 4, youll have to wait until next day. -Small bag of ice is $4 -Golf carts are priced fair, HOWEVER, if you want a street legal one, you have to rent the lifted ones, which are ofcourse more money. They have to be back at the KOA by Dark, even though they have lights. -Splash pad painted blue areas are pretty slippery to kids. Saw kids falling left and right. -(not a con to me) but busiest or loudest days seem to be Thursday night - saturday when the camp ground fills up. Sunday - Wednesday was very quiet. -Firewood prices are a little steep, $22 for 3 bundles. Overall we had a great time and the kids loved the outdoor experiences. I would definitely stay here again if I was unable to find a beach house to rent. read more

My husband and I have stayed in KOA's across the US and this was a total disappointment. 1 & 2It was noisy. We were parked by the restrooms, so no privacy and we were asked for the code several times. 3. Campsite had litter we had to pick up upon arrival 4.Landscaping unkept like tall weeds and leaves from last winter throughout the campground. 5. The coldest welcome for a KOA ever--handed us the map and told us where to park. 6. Quiet hours not observed or enforced. 7. Minimal store supplies. 8. No information on activities 9. Kids riding train observed to be going quite fast--would not allow my children or grandchildren on this. 10. Camouflaged rope across trail we almost tripped on. 11. Bathrooms marginal--saw them cleaned once 12. Gave up on the internet and used personal hotspot. 13. Golf cart drivers out of control! We will be staying in another private or state park when in this area in the future. We love this area but, we will find a place we can enjoy the stars and outdoors while camping to relax. read more

My hubs and I travel the country a few times every year. Myrtle Beach KOA is one of our top campgrounds. We are currently here, and they had such a fun time tonight for the kids. Our granddaughter had so much fun on her first Worm Train ride. Then the Golf Cart Parade we joined for another campers young sons Birthday was phenomenal! They tossed candy to all the campers and with such enthusiasm all around. Campers loved it too, thank you Robert and the KOA Gals who stopped at our site today when they saw our puppy Gryffindor! Gave us so many tips of places to eat etc. Definitely top notch KOA in Myrtle Beach. The smiles and cheers from campers was so much fun!! read more

We had friends who were camping here in their RV, so we rented a deluxe cabin for the weekend and joined them. Our cabin was nice and clean, but what really wowed me was the attitude of the staff. Just incredibly friendly and helpful. We were greeted cheerfully at the gate house when we rolled in after dark, and security staff appeared to lead us to our cabin, which would have been a little challenging to find without help. There were a couple of small things broken in our cabin (like blind slats in the bedroom we didn't use) but nothing that affected our enjoyment. It seems like a great place for families, with a pool and other amenities kids would enjoy. read more

In this time of remote business and heavy computer use, there is absolutely no excuse for any RV campground to not have exceptional WiFi. very poor Koa in myrtle beach is horrible. People are rude, bathrooms and grounds are beyond disgusting, store is never open, you would think during the 4th July week they would be open, what camp ground closes their store at 4 with a check in at 3, camp ground allowed people to drive through late at night, we had a issue with the electric as did the people around us they could not be reached, all the staff would just be sitting around the gate rather than working, very poorly ran. We stayed at several KOAs never had an issues and they were clean to say the least. This KOA makes us want to rethink your choices of camp grounds in the future. read more

Went two days without hot water with no offer of a refund or discount. When your camping and outside all day at the beach you expect to be able to shower. The bathrooms were not clean. Floor not swept, cracking paint, mold...pretty nasty. An example of older bathrooms that needs serious updates. The trees are beautiful and the park is nice. Really neat campground. We were very pleased with our campsite. It was spacious, clean, hook-ups were in a good spot, and close to the beach. Here are a few areas of improvement. 1. When you call, they put you straight to hold. They don't ask you what you need or even wait for a responce before you're put on hold. First of all, that is extrememly rude. But, I was trying to verify a package arrived after we had already left, just to be put on hold for over 20 min before I hung up. We had to turn back for the package, but it would have been nice to have had it confirmed that the package even arrived before we back tracked. 2. The pool area needs some updating. It looked dirty to me, but I'm sure its just older and in need of some updating. 3. If you care to extend your stay, you have to move. They won't keep you in your spot because their computer system has people coming in already assigned. Seems like every campground we've atayed in doesn't guarentee spot locations. It wasn't even a request issue, but a system set up. Other than these Hiccups, it was a great property. I would stay again, but we avoud the pool and make sure you book for your full desired length of time. read more

Very close to the ocean side and shopping place (you can walk or ask for shuttle). It was always a person in the gate. Pool was ok. It was open until late. Worst customer service ever OMG the KOA in Myrtle Beach is the worst office run KOA I have ever been to. They were correcting an error to get me the 10% discount and my KOA points. They said it would take a day, well 5 days later still not fixed. Been calling for 5 days and all I get is voicemail. For 90 dollars a day shouldn't we expect / get more? Called corporate KOA and they were as helpful as the none corporate KOA. Their prices go up, campgrounds have potholes and a lot are ant infested. Time for me to stop using KOA's. read more

Restrooms are absolutely filthy there is feces everywhere, and the floor of the showers are moldy,cracked, and have black dirt everywhere they are definitely in need of an upgrade. We had to call up to the main office twice for toilet paper because there was no toilet paper in the restrooms for over 6 hours and the 4 days I stayed there I never saw the bathrooms get properly cleaned. The camp store is limited and very over priced. The pool is very small for the amount of people that stay at the camp site so the pool is constantly overcrowded. The laundry room is nice and air conditioned with clean bathrooms but multiple dryers do not have heat. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall I would not stay here again there are other camp grounds around the area around the same price range for better quality. read more

I can't even give it a star. We have been traveling for the summer. We have stayed at many rv campgrounds and resorts and this is by far the worst. If you're a Koa rewards member they won't honor the membership and allow you to cancel or leave early (even though their pool is closed for two days open for one on and off again. We stayed there over a week and the pool was open three times only). As soon as you leave the exit of the KOA there are multiple gangs and the area itself is know for sex trafficking-shared to us by the locals and the police that were on the property often. I share this so that anyone like us with five children or small children or just children in general want a safe experience or a wholesome experience know. There are resorts north like Lakewood or pirates that i would recommend. Last day there-no water and the shower houses had our family and other families gagging. Also please know any complaints or concerns will be ignored. read more

We have stayed here twice. Really nice campground, and courtious staff. Walking distance to the beach. They have ponds to fish in, a nice playground, and super cute cabins. We loved riding our bikes around. (They have bike and golf cart rentals) They also have a big jumping pillow. The sites are really nice, some have hammocks. There is a lot to do here. Staff was great! Management is sub-par and needs more staff to attend to upkeep. The setting and location are nice but the cabins are old and neglected. Reserved a DELUX cabin; it was dirty, stained furniture, broken window blinds, eating/cooking utensils were dirty, as were the drawers and cupboards. I spent hours washing and cleaning the cabin before unpacking. Not enough HOT water for ONE shower. Upon request for hot water, had to pack up everything the second day and move to one of their two new cabins. Honestly I wanted to leave but KOA refused to refund the balance of remaining stay. Don't get sucked into the KOA RESORT hype...NOT TRUE. read more

We loved our stay at the Myrtle beach KOA! They had last minute reservations available which was nice as we were doing a road trip and stopping in Myrtle beach unexpectedly. The campsites are huge and include a grill, fire pit, and a picnic table. The amenities are so fun...they have a pool, concession stand, bouncy balloon, laundry, game room, covered eating areas, and bathrooms (CLEAN bathrooms!). This KOA has the cleanest bathrooms ever with private shower rooms. Its a convenient location, about 10 minute walk to the beach. They do have a beach shuttle however we didn't use it. The entire campground is very family friendly and we felt very safe camping here. read more
