I've had previous REIs before, and she has been the most reassuring, accommodating and anxiety alleviating provider I have had the opportunity to work with. As a psychiatrist, I can say she is excellent at reassuring and encouraging her patients in the most thoughtful and attentive ways, which has been critical in alleviating stress and optimizing the success of my cycles. I have had 2 previous cycles, at 30 and 32 years old with different providers and neither of them came close to how successful my cycle was with her, turning the dreaded age of 35 in a few short months. Despite nearing "advanced maternal age", Dr. VanHise has been able to optimize my fertility, retrieving the most number of eggs I have ever retrieved in a single cycle. She thoughtfully balances cutting edge research and evidence based treatments with lifestyle modifications, such as prioritizing self-care, nutrition, exercise, and sleep without overwhelming me with too much information. She's also just so smart, authentically kind, and invested in her patients, and I love that about her. She is responsive, receptive and has been a joy to work with, transforming what was previously a very isolating and dreadful process for me, into something exciting and miraculous. During my previous cycles, I literally used to sob by myself for an hour in my car after every ultrasound, dreading each appointment with certain failure or consideration of a retrieval at another menstrual cycle. Another cycle as a woman with limited reproductive potential, thus drowning in feelings of failure. She has helped me redefine my relationship with my body, as a fellow female physician, validating my sacrifices to my career in healthcare, and helped me restore my confidence in my dream of becoming a mother one day, (whenever I get out of the LA dating pool). Cannot recommend her enough!

From the very…read morebeginning, she was warm, approachable, and so easy to communicate with--she even let me text her during my egg retrieval cycle and personally called me as soon as she had the results. She's incredibly thorough, deeply knowledgeable, and just someone you instantly feel safe with. In fact, apparently the first person I said "I love you" to after waking up from anesthesia wasn't my husband... it was Dr. Mandelbaum! (Not in a creepy way, I swear--just shows how much I trust and adore her.) The whole team made such a difference in my experience. Jasmine was amazing at coordinating everything--so kind, responsive, and on top of it. April helped us navigate the financial side with transparency and clarity. Nurse Maria was always gentle and reassuring. And Sawyer and Angela at the Beverly Hills office were so friendly and welcoming every time we came in. After a uncomfortable experience at another Beverly Hills clinic, I'm beyond grateful for the care, honesty, and support I received here. This team truly goes above and beyond, and I feel so lucky to have found them.

Dr. Mandelbaum is SO warm and caring, she made me feel at ease during the entire egg freezing process, which is by nature a very uneasy thing to go through. I initially did a consult at another clinic in West LA and the whole experience felt like I was in a factory. I actually cried when I left because the doctor made me feel like I was drying up. I had already started my period, and Dr. Mandelbaum slipped me in during her lunch hour to see me the next day (I instagram DM'ed her haha). My experience with HRC West LA was the complete opposite of the first clinic. It was small, everyone was so kind and caring, and Dr. Mandelbaum did all of the ultrasounds and the retrieval herself. She even held my hand right the whole time before the happy drugs kicked in! Literal godsend! I honestly can't say enough great things about her and her team. Finding a competent, kind, caring doctor who you feel like you can relate to truly makes all the difference. Especially with something as sensitive as fertility. It's no wonder her office is stacked with hand written thank you cards and the review before me said she told Dr. Mandelbaum "I love you" before her husband when waking up from her anesthesia haha!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I had been coming to this office for several months and unfortunately the overall cleanliness,…read moreorganization, and patient communication became a recurring concern. During my most recent visit, multiple surfaces and items in the room were visibly dirty -- including the exam chair, the stirrup covers, and even the wall. There was also a large open jar of numbing compound that appeared discolored and had residue smeared in several areas around the room. These are basic hygiene issues that should be taken seriously in any medical setting. I reached out privately to the office hoping to share these concerns directly and ask where to send photos, but instead of addressing the situation, my patient portal access was suddenly deactivated. That was extremely disappointing, especially since I was trying to communicate respectfully and privately. In addition to the cleanliness concerns, wait times at every appointment were consistently long, even when I was scheduled first thing in the morning ( I was reassured that I would be seen as long as I booked the first appointment. Not only did that never happen, but I was told while I was in the room ready to be examined that she was on her way to work. I often waited over an hour before being seen, and the office frequently seemed disorganized. There was also very little communication regarding care, no notes were provided or printed, and when I asked for clarity on certain medical information, I was simply told to "google it." Everything felt SO RUSHED!!! I genuinely tried to resolve this directly with the clinic before posting here, but being blocked from my own portal left me with no other way to make my experience known. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the hygiene standards and communication with patients moving forward. Lastly, if you get anything done here, please make sure to have them check your insurance first. I paid a lot of money out of pocket and I didn't get any clear communication on why that wasn't under my insurance. ..

Sadly, this isn't a review for the Dr. I'd love to have…read morebeen able to see the Dr but the front office staff are seemingly deliberately ignoring my calls and emails requesting an appointment. It's pretty scandalous that front office staff are able to gatekeep Drs in this way when I assume the Drs have no idea how potential patients are being treated. I emailed over a week prior and received a call back a few days later. The front office member wasn't clear on the membership criteria or breakdown and kept repeating for me to 'read the email I've sent you' which she forwarded during the call to further avoid having to explain. The crux of if seemed to be that she didn't understand the fee structure or insurance component herself so continually repeated the same line to read the email. Realizing that she wasn't going to help me, she said 'I'll get someone else to call you back'. I've not been called back in over 1 week and have been consistently ignored when I've tried to email follow up (6 times). This front office associate was curt, passive aggressive and extremely unhelpful- exactly the opposite of a positive front desk interaction with a potential patient looking for specific care. I'd been referred to this Dr from another one and would have loved to have seen her. Unfortunately, it's not possible due to her front office staff. Posting this review in the hope that she will see it and investigate how her staff are treating potential (and likely existing) patients. I'm fairly confident the Dr would be appalled at them ruining the reputation of her business. I would recommend her recording calls and monitoring emails. Attaching the 6 follow ups without response for people to see.

Her name was Adhi and she didn't know how to answer any of my questions. I spent a lot of time on the phone with her and she intentionally hung up on me since she was unsure as to how to respond to any of my concerns and I had asked to speak to her supervisor. I called back and she lied about having spoken to me (just a minute prior) and picked up the phone the same way she initially did saying "I'm calling from LAIPT how can I help you?" When I was the one calling her! I also contacted her on the day that I had parted with my child and needed some peace of mind knowing that she's doing ok and spent at least 5 minutes trying to explain the reason for my call only to find out that she worked in the "back office" and that there was no patient there by my child's first and last name!!! As a parent, I needed someone who was actually AT the facility and couldn't wait another GD knows how long for a coordinator to finish a session and call or text me back. It was an urgent matter and wasn't handled properly or professionally. I was more stressed, anxious and frustrated upon speaking with Adhi. She had ZERO clue of my child's whereabouts and emotional state and was of NO help. She barely spoke proper English and I had to spell out things in order for her to comprehend what I was saying! Thank GD for Katie and all of her help. Katie took the situation and handled it in a timely manner. She was very apologetic for Adhi's behavior and took matters into her own hands by giving me the peace of mind that was needed as a parent leaving my child there alone for the first time. Adhi seemed lost and should not be working anywhere that handles matters with children involved! I hope the company finds someone IN OFFICE who is knowledgeable and knows the patients and parents who will better manage the front desk.

After the first visit, I was hooked. I would look forward to every Friday for my weekly appointment. Not only is Dr. Mitra truly gifted at what she does, but she also has the best bedside manner of any healthcare practitioner I have ever visited. She would ask me about my symptoms every week and tailor her approach accordingly. At each visit, she provided advice and good humor. I absolutely loved each session and many times, it was my only opportunity to relax all day (or week). After a month or two of TTC, in late May, I found out I was pregnant. Dr. Mitra was a HUGE support during my pregnancy. She treated physical symptoms, aches and pains, and anxieties and big emotions that come with pregnancy. I continued my weekly visits until a few months postpartum when life got busier with baby and my return to work, but I miss her and our sessions together immensely.
