I would not recommend provider MYLES KOBREN. During my recent visits, I felt rushed and no proper hands-on exam was performed. Instead, he repeatedly PUSHED additional unnecessary tests that kept coming back negative rather than reassessing my concerns. Each visit felt disorganized, and he often suggested repeating exams that were already done. The office was equally frustrating. They somehow billed insurance I haven't had years, which led to nearly $500 in incorrect OUT OF POCKET charges. My current insurance had to contact them directly to fix their billing errors multiple times, and the staff proves to be incompetent each time. My birth control prescription which I've been on for 18 years , which had already been approved was repeatedly DENIED by the office. I had to call multiple times just to receive medication that was already prescribed?? I spoke with DR KOBREN PERSONALLY and he stated it was sent to the pharmacy. My pharmacy states it was denied. This occurs every 1-2 months for some reason. When you try to contact the office it's impossible to hear back. To top it off, I recently found out I have uterine fibroids. Unfortunately, they were never identified here. The combination of missed diagnosis, unnecessary testing, billing errors, and repeated prescription issues has been extremely disappointing. I have since transferred my care elsewhere. This place is a joke and I wouldn't recommend any woman to be seen here. read more

Never again!!! It was my worst GYN visit. First of all, they didn't even let me finish filling up the papers, called me in, I thought they will ask me questions and fill it in the office , but they didn't. Doctor didn't seem to be interested in my medical history at all, when I tried to tell the story myself, he would interrupt me and would not let me finish. They don't even give you a robe, just a piece of paper to cover up bottom part, which I also had to use while being transferred to other room for sonogram through corridor where everybody else is walking..then had to use it also as a napkin after sonogram, because they wouldn't even wipe me nor gave me anything to wipe myself. Never called me about test results either. I want my gynecologist to know me in and out and actually care about me. I came to get an advise if it is a good time to have a baby...I am on the endometriosis treatment for almost 9 years, and needed a professional who knows what that is and how to treat and deal with it and all I need to consider planning a baby. All I heard - go do your thing, when you miss a period - come back. ?????? Wait..What???!!! Am I being sent to grocery store to buy some food?? Or am I making really responsible decision which will change my life?? I keep thinking about it over and over again and feel like they didn't give a s*it about me as a patient and just tried to get rid of me as fast as possible.. I've been using Dr Myles Kobren for years. I've followed him from practice to practice. He made sure to be there when I gave birth to both my children, even when he wasn't on call. Both my girls now use him today. He's been there when my daughter gave birth to her daughter and we'll be there I'm sure when she give birth anyday for the second. I highly recommend Dr. Myles Kobren and his entire team for his services as a Gyno- Surgeon. He stayed on top of every monitoring session that I had during my pregnancy and even before I got pregnant he was very much in tuned with my issues and dealt with it very positively. Dr. Kobren and his entire team works in a great collaborative effort and they make sure that each patient is attended with utmost care and attention. Dr. Kobren made sure that my delivery via a C Section would be smooth as possible and he definitely delivered what he promised. Didn't do complete exam. Didn't do a complete breast exam. Did not do a rectal exam on a woman over 55 years old. Did do a quick internal but then left the bulk of the exam to the ultrasound technician. I told him I had a mammogram. He said good but didn't ask if it was normal. He did tell me about his patent for something non related to gynecology He did try to sell me a children's book he wrote. His staff did not ask me to fill out any paperwork. I signed in and had to wait 1 hour and forty five minutes just in the waiting room. They never had me fill out any paperwork after the "exam". The one star is for the ultrasound tech. Dr Kobrin. Dr. Kobren's office is amazing, from staff to doctor. They were very welcoming and nice. Once I filled everything out I was brought to the back, I had a lot of concerns. My medical assistant asked me questions for my history, once she was finished Dr. Kobren came in and introduce himself, and asked me what my concerns were. Once I spoke to him about everything he did his examination and asked if I wanted a sonogram, thank god he did. I was misdiagnosed by all my other OBGYN's until I met Dr.Kobren. I highly recommend Dr. Kobren and his entire staff. I have been seeing Dr. Kobren since 2011. I even drove to Syosset from Bayside just to see him. His office staff is friendly and caring. Jackie, Karen and Taryn are a delight. What truly let me know how amazing Dr. Kobren is, was how he treated me during my pregnancy. I unfortunately had an emergency C Section and I can't tell you enough that Dr. Kobren's knowledge, professionalism and care meant the world to my husband and I in our scariest times. He may seem like he is taking care of you fast or quickly addressing your concerns but that is because of his vast knowledge and expertise. He does not need to hear a whole dragged out story. He is beyond knowledgeable. As a healthcare worker myself and have been in the OR as a Radiographer I know a capable and confident Surgeon. Dr. Kobren is just that, from the moment he arrived to Winthrop he took command of the room and advocated for me as his patient and first priority. I felt calmer having someone like him by my side. As I am reading some of the reviews below I can assure you that none of those are a true reflection Dr. Kobren nor his staff. Give him a shot! you won't regret it. Dr. kobran is a rascist. From the first visit he looked at my fiance with disgust because he is black. As we sat in his office they spoke about sports instead of my results or regarding my visit. The first visit one of the nurses did an ultravaginal sono and it hurt and she said yelled "what i didnt even put it in yet". And she sucked her teeth. My fiance did Not apprreciate that.She was very rude. Being she is just getting married youd think shed be a happier person. There was a asian guy who was a resident for the doctor he looked really scared and unhappy working for the doctor. I am pregnant and have no where to go now. He refused.me.treatment and will no longer accept me as a patient. My man n i had a little quite dispute in private room. The entire staff was nosy. And then the doc proceeded to call us in office. he said "I been doing this for 30 plus years and i dont tolerate bullshit. And im firing you. He was so rascist i saw this coming from our first visit .The receptionist quickly gathered my blood results and sent me out the door. Last week he promised.to send over my Prenatal vitamins to Cvs. And they were never delivered and doc tried arguing with me about this. He is a very stiff doctor with wat seems like he has something up his ass. He is miserable. Mean. Cold. Uncaring. Imagine dealing with Racial issues in 2017. Sad. This was the worst well woman checkup of my life! I went in for an annual exam and STD screening. The actual exam lasted maybe two minutes and from that Dr. Kobren decided that I had no STDs and didn't need blood work. I was somewhat confused because despite not being very worried at the time, a lot of STDs may never show signs of being contracted, like HIV for instance, so I felt it was better to be safe then sorry. After using that example he then agreed to write me a script for an HIV blood test but nothing else, so when I went to the front desk I had to ask the nurse to write a script out for more general testing in front of everyone in the lobby. He then called me back into his office and brought another nurse in to chastise me about whether or not I knew what a pap was (as if my answer would have made it any less important that I'm asking for specific testing to be done) and how he's a professional so despite the fact that it's impossible for him to be sure, he's been doing this for so long that his opinion of my medical state is sufficient enough for me not to be tested. After five minutes of arguing, I finally get them to write a script and am then threatened with costs that he believes my insurance won't cover. Moving on to when I begin to look for a lab: I called my insurance company only to be told that they only take Quest lab, not Sunrise Medical labs which is where my script was written to; therefore, I had to call the office from the parking lot to get a new script but was told that only one person can write it out and they couldn't do it for another hour despite the fact that I was in the parking lot and had no where to go because I live an hour away. I decided there was no use arguing because they very well may have been too busy and resigned to sitting in the parking lot. However, I fortunately received a call a half hour later. I got my script and the nurse then apologized to me and said she knew my insurance only took Quest and that was her mistake. This news was frustrating to me, but I am grateful for her apology, as that was the nicest thing anyone in the office had done for me since I walked in. I then go to the lab but when I got called into the office I looked at the script and saw one of the tests I specifically asked for was left off. I then had to call the office AGAIN to get it faxed over which took a second call after they didn't send it the first time which ended in them hanging up on me. The whole ordeal was ridiculous, took about five hours, and made me very uncomfortable. I spent the entire day being yanked around just because they didn't want to give me the proper STD testing that I ASKED FOR! Needless to say, I'm never going back. read more

I have been to dr Kobren on two separate occasions. His waiting room was crowded and The wait time to see him was two hours. After examining me He suggested performing procedures and tests which were unnecessary. He's looking for ways to bill you and your insurance company. Beware of this doctor!! read more

Everyone in the office was accommodating, and Dr. Kobren was very informative and made me feel very comfortable.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kobren's since I was out of college. He has since delivered my first born and I am currently under his care for the upcoming birth of my twins this April. I can say I truly receive the most caring and thorough care with Dr. Kobren. He takes the time to talk to you in his office after each exam, which makes me feel like I'm getting the most thorough experience possible. If you have questions, that's the time to ask and he helps put you at ease if it's not serious, or lights a fire under you if you need further care or need to change your ways. Either way, you're getting personal attention and a chance to voice your questions and concerns. Pregnancy is one of the most meaningful, yet scary, experiences of my life, and having Dr. Kobren's care makes it a much more calm endeavor.
