This is not a minor inconvenience , no customer should ever leave a waxing appointment with burns. The waxer herself did apologize and told me she would contact upper management so I could receive a refund or account credit. She also said she would make sure I was never booked with her again. I appreciate that she at least acknowledged what happened and attempted to report it. What is completely unacceptable is the way corporate management handled this afterward. It has now been 3 weeks of excuses, no follow-up, no refund, no credit, and no accountability. I was repeatedly told management comes in every Tuesday to handle audits and customer resolutions, yet every time I call, nothing has been done. The front desk even confirmed there is an email on file from the waxer explaining the situation, so corporate is fully aware and has simply chosen to ignore it. Burning clients during a professional waxing service should never happen in the first place, and the fact that management cannot even be bothered to make the situation right afterward says everything about how little they value customer safety and customer service. Accidents may happen in some industries, but when a business injures a customer and then avoids resolving the issue for weeks, that is beyond poor service. Very disappointed and honestly shocked at how careless this company has been.

Living up to their namesake, that's exactly what your nether region will feel like after a wax at Smooth as Silk. Groupon brought me here. I've had the opportunity to try many waxing places because of it. Most estheticians I've gone to are usually independent and rent a space inside a salon building, but Smooth as Silk is actually a standalone waxing studio. And a beautifully decorated one at that -- reclaimed wood paneling and decor that made for a warm welcome. They even offer bottled water while waiting. A cleansing wipe is provided beforehand and a sheet drape for modesty after undressing. Tori did my wax. She was casual and friendly and turns out she's also the owner. So it goes without saying that I experienced a thorough wax. I'm bad at maintaining my brazilian schedule so it was as if it was my first time waxing, but it wasn't as painful as I anticipated. Thanks! I have a few favorite waxing places in town and this will definitely be added to the list. Their regular price for brazilian wax is $50 which is usually the average to comparable studios.

During my visit, Bertha told me the bumps and acne were actually being caused by waxing/shaving my face at home. This was causing ingrown hairs to form on my face, hence the bumps that would not go away no matter the products I used. She educated me thoroughly about my skin, which I appreciated so much. With just one visit, I understood the cause of my breakouts and what I could do to prevent them. Other estheticians I've went to recommended I come back every 2-3 weeks. But Bertha did such an amazing job with the extractions the first visit, she recommended I wait and see how my skin heals before scheduling again. This made me feel she really cared about my skin and was not just trying to keep me coming back. It was the most thorough extraction process I've had, as she went through each pore. After my visit, my skin was visibly smoother and supple. Today, my skin feels 100x less congested. I will definitely continue to visit Bertha. She is very sweet, knowledgeable and thorough. The spa room is very cozy and easy to relax in. The booking process was very seamless, I just sent the business a text and she got back to me within the hour to schedule for the following day.
