They have over 200 products, most featuring cherries, which are grown locally in Michigan. You can find candy, salsa, dried cherries, jams, sauces, cookies, juice, gift baskets, nuts, and more. I stopped in to this location in downtown Traverse City while in the area looking to get Nate a little treat. They have lots of samples available, so I tried a dark chocolate covered cherry flavored coffee bean that I knew he'd love. I wanted just a small package, but they only had an 8 oz bag. I also got a smaller 3 oz bag of the ruby red sour cherry patches, which are my favorite. The store wasn't very busy when I was there, but they can get quite packed especially during peak summer months. If you know someone who loves cherries, you definitely have to check out Cherry Republic.

They have a myriad of stalls run by independent local designers full of wonderful, homey, handmade decor, clothing, knick knacks, refinished furniture and antiques. On my most recent trip I scored a gorgeous kids table and 4 chairs -- repainted and the table top done as a chalkboard + 4 little chairs decoupaged with maps of Michigan. For $128. A great deal given the work that went into it. Our little citizens at the cabin LOVE it! I could spend hours poking around in here, it's well laid out, organized, the people are friendly and it's just got a great vibe.
