I was a patient of Melanie's for close to eight years. Unfortunately, my insurance company changed…read moreand I became a self paying patient. I did struggle to make these payments, however, we came up with a payment plan and I was able to pay off the balance. At my next appointment she declared that she thought it would be easier for me to find a new doctor that took my insurance. I have been trying to do that for over a month and I have not been successful. My medications are running low and I'm trying to ration them the best that I can. I called her over the weekend because I'm feeling very sick from the withdrawal. Her office returned my phone call this morning and said that she already told me that she would not see me as a patient again. Withdrawing from any medication can be very dangerous and I feel as though it inhumane, irresponsible, and unethical for her to not at least help me to come up with a plan to do so in a healthy way.

While Melanie was a lovely person, I would never recommend anyone to be under her care. I was on a…read morerelatively high dose of Seroquel at a young age, which is widely known as a dangerous drug & is recommended to get bloodwork done every 6 months while taking. Not only was I never once sent for bloodwork, I also had reported to Melanie during a visit that I was experiencing some twitching, to which she said "I've never heard of that happening with this drug"! Turns out, I was developing Tardive Dyskinesia and would not find out or cease the medication for another year and a half+ after doing research of my own once it became unbearable. TD is a serious, sometimes permanent, (and VERY WELL KNOWN) side effect of Seroquel and is life altering. I have now been off this med for 3 years and still experience some symptoms. Let this be your warning!

Wow - I couldn't disagree more with most of these reviews. I've been a patient of Comprehensive…read morePain Management for just about 15 years and I can't speak highly enough of them! They've ALWAYS been professional and have treated me compassionately throughout the entire time I've been seen by them. I have chronic low back pain due to three different diagnoses in the same 3 vertebrae and it took quite a while to find a way to manage my pain appropriately. Unfortunately, pain meds were the only method that worked - UNTIL I did a trial of a Nevro HFX neurostimulator. That worked beautifully and I now have had one permanently implanted and am tapering off my pain meds. All thanks to Dr. Schwartzman and the staff at the Warwick office of Comprehensive Pain Management. People do need to remember that ALL pain management clinics are under constant scrutiny by both state and federal agencies - pain meds are VERY highly restricted - for good reason! Prescriptions are restricted to 30 days max NOT by these doctors, but by RI law. And all the "rules" required to be followed if you ARE prescribed pain meds are spelled out in a pain contract that you're required to review and sign annually (standard practice by any doctor prescribing opiates - it was required by my old pain medicine practice, too!)- so it should never be a shock to be asked for a urine sample! That's very plainly spelled out in the contract! Just make sure you don't "go" before you head to the office for your appointment - it's not that hard to deal with. I've been doing it for 15 years! I've NEVER been treated like a drug seeker or an addict - maybe because my pill counts are ALWAYS accurate and my drug screens always show exactly what they're supposed to. If you're looking to get high, don't bother coming here. If you're looking for compassionate treatment for a long-term pain issue, this is where I've found it and I highly recommend Comprehensive Pain Management.

Unfortunately, my experience with Comprehensive Pain Management has been disappointing. They do not…read morereturn phone calls, and the hold times are excessively long. After making three separate attempts to reach someone, I ultimately gave up.
