I always felt taken care by everyone with whom I spoke. One of the best parts of their services is that they take the time to try very hard to find the "right" person for your family member, not just anyone available. It was a perfect match and this made all the difference to me and my family. My 104 year old aunt had one main caregiver, but when she needed to have some time off, each person they sent to fill-in was kind and gentle and treated my aunt with the same affection as her regular caregiver. When my aunt eventually needed 24 hour Hospice care, Assisting Hands coordinated and cooperated with Hospice to fill in the time slots Hospice was finding difficult to staff, with one of the owners actually taking a shift herself to be sure my aunt was not alone. The entirety of their operation was always professional, completely reliable, and filled warm, caring and giving people.

From our first conversation, I knew she was the nurse for me. She picked me up from the surgery center and brought me home. She cared for me for the next three days with the utmost patience, kindness and gentleness. Exactly what I needed, since I was like the deere caught in headlights. Nothing could have prepared me for what was to come. If it hadn't been for Nava, I don't know what I would have done. I needed help with going to the bathroom, standing, walking, eating, bathing.......... She went with little to no sleep just to tend to me and make me as comfortable as possible. Her above and beyond gestures did not go unnoticed. She gave me food that she had prepared for herself, so that I would eat and went as far leaving it for me when she left. She stressed the importance of eating, and she tried anything to get me to eat. That is a true caregiver. She could tell that grooming was important to me, so within the confines of my recovery, she helped me groom as best as she could. She wanted me to feel good about myself. Lastly, It seems that three days is hard to make a lasting impact, but Nava did make a lasting impact. Not only personally but aiding me in my recovery.
