We got the LivingSocial deal for 2 hrs of plumbing services for $70. We were having the shower repaired. They said they charge $100/hr when they go past the 2 hours and quoted $300 for extra time and parts after looking at the shower. I was not really happy with this and should have called around for estimates, but thought "well, I have already paid for the 2 hrs." I was not at home to supervise, but had someone else there. (Mistake #2) I got a phone call a couple hours later and they said the parts were more expensive so all together we would owe $500. I got the payment ready (mistake #3), but they promised to give me all parts receipts and I was timing them to ensure they were really putting in 5 hrs of work. (Really? 5 hours to repair a leaking shower?!?!) They called after the 5 hour mark and said that it was complete and they had given the receipts to the person I had at home. (Mistake #4, not checking in with that person before paying them. I am just a bit too trusting.) I found out that they had never provided any receipts, had not finished the repair, but said they would show up the next day to repair it and had been gone (getting lunch, buying parts, buying caulk that they forgot to get before, taking a break) much more than they had actually been there working. Needless to say, they did not come back to finish and we never heard from them again even after repeated phone calls.

He replaced two toilets for us, removed a cemented in gas grill in our backyard and fixed a leaky old shower. He was prompt, professional, left spaces much better than how he found them and informed us on what we could do do maintain our fixer upper. We will be calling him back after tax season for more repairs to keep this house in tip top shape.
