We had our kiddo's bday party here and it was fantastic! I highly recommend. While the price isn't cheap (nothing is in the city), they really do take care of everything for you. The staff was super engaging with the kids which is so important. They led the kid through activities, had them laughing, and they all had such a great time. We did a party at Lil' Kickers last year and it was fine, but the staff leading the party was not good at all. My Gym far exceeded my expectations. It was the best birthday party we've had yet and I would definitely sign up for their classes. read more

The call before with staff was very organized and the staff at the party were EXCELLENT! They were both engaged the entire time and made the party very interactive and engaging! The My Gym facility is an excellent place for young children to "workout" in a fun, stimulating and safe environment. The staff is very professional & friendly. They encourage the children and help them develop athletically. I like that the classes are always varied, and new gym equipment available for the children to explore. We had a great time here. We booked a free trial class online. The process was simple. Create an account. Select the class you'd like. You're in! You can opt to sign the waiver online or sign once you arrive to class. Either way, it's a quick process. We arrived 15 minutes early, though it's not necessary at all! The staff was wrapping up a meeting, but someone got up and greeted us, which was a great sign of their friendly customer service. Our baby girl was the youngest one there, and the only one who doesn't walk yet. All of the other children were well beyond the one-Year mark. She still has a few months to go. Either way, the older toddlers loved having an infant there and our daughter loved meeting new friends. It was nice and intimate. Even though she couldn't do some of the activities, I could tell how great a gym this is. Babies are free to explore and lead the parents to what they'd like to try next. So many skills can be perfected here simply through play! We'll give our daughter a month or so to get a little older for full advantage of what's offered here, but we'll be returning for sure. read more

I'm a big believer of when you receive great service you should let people know. With that said we absolutely LOVE My Gym. We've been coming a few months now and it's our favorite class we've taken in Chicago. The Staff: Truly every single staff member is phenomenal. They bring the most positive attitudes, big smiles, and try get to know each child in their classes. As a former teacher, I know the energy this takes and it doesn't go unnoticed. The Facility: They keep everything so clean, organized, and all of the equipment is well maintained. The Class: The class allows for kids to explore, practice songs, fine and gross motor skills and provide a predictable routine with flexibility to let the kids be kids. Just had my sons 4th birthday party at My Gym and couldn't say enough good things to say about it! We had 15 kids and they took care of everything - decorations, music, food / drinks and amazing entertainment for the kids! Justin and his assistant were absolutely awesome and the kids had a blast! My daughter had her 4th birthday party here. I shopped around but I'd been to a few classes and thought this was the perfect spot - and I was right. I have been to several birthday parties here and while they do a nice job, I frankly worry about the facility safety a bit. The floor is not cushioned, and there are a lot of hard corners and edges for kids to hurt themselves on. With kids running wild, you would think there would be more safety precautions. I had my 4.5 year old daughter and my 1.5 year old son at a party there recently, and I had to watch him like a hawk, because if he fell off any structure he'd basically be falling on cement. Why aren't the floors padded or softer at least? Another knock is that its very tight. When the kids sit down for food, and the parents have to be out of the play area, good luck finding anywhere to sit, let alone stand. I am just surprised by their choice of space for the business. The staff is great however, and I like the fact that you can bring in your own food unlike other places. Still, safety is a big issue, and I feel like they have done a very average job of addressing that. read more

We've had a great experience here. We live walking distance, which is awesome. Our son is almost 2.5 and has been coming weekly since he was less than a year old. Our nanny brings him for classes and we have taken him to a few (but it's mostly her). It's one thing he consistently really likes. Everyone there really seems to care about the kids, and at first I really thought it was kind of silly (like gymnastics for babies?!) but you really do notice progress if you pay attention. They've been great about makeup classes, and open gym is a nice option when you need to get out of the house. We've done lots of different classes around town, but this is one we just keep doing and I don't see us cancelling. We just keep moving up in the age groups. My son starts preschool in the fall so that's probably when we'll stop but that's the only reason. Otherwise I really recommend this as a fun weekly activity for little kids. read more

We have really enjoyed watching our son's (18mo) development at My Gym! He just finished his first season of classes this summer and has developed so many skills, including significant growth in his climbing ability! Has been awesome to watch him grow more and more comfortable during independent time as well. The instructors are so engaging and pay attention to each of the kids so well. They also create new play stations each week so there are always new skills to learn and adventures to experience. So much fun to watch his face light up here! We have had a terrific experience with My Gym since my daughter started Saturday classes there last summer. She loves going and we love that the activities are always new and the gym layout shifts, making it feel like a new space every time. We also just had my daughter's third birthday party there and it was amazing. The staff was energetic and engaging with the kids and they were pros at setting up the party - I didn't have to do anything! We did bring some snacks and drinks, as well as balloons and a few decorations, which they were more than happy to help set up as well. Everyone had a great time and we've gotten multiple compliments from other parents. Definitely a hit! read more

Unacceptable staff response to child falling due to staff not being fully securing or hooking up rope from the ceiling. Initially, I liked this place because it is a fun gym. I read how fun birthday parties have been, and although I can't speak to that, I've considered hosting one here because it has so much for children to do and enjoy. On the week of 1/23/2020 (cannot recall which date), I brought my daughter to one of the classes. Justin and Nicole were the teachers. Justin had hooked up one of the next activities for the children. One boy was first in line, and dropped flat onto his back with the rope in his hand because it was not fastened correctly. Although this appeared to be accidental, it was the staffs' lack of empathic response and concern to the boy who was clearly frightened and still crying as his mother and him left the class. One staff member saying, "See ya later". Since that incident, I've been so disturbed that I have not been able to stop talking about it with other parents, feeling incredibly hurt for the boy as it was a horrific sight to watch. Getting e-mails from MyGym continues to prompt ill-feelings and post this last experience. read more

We had our son's 4th birthday party here a few weeks ago. What a fantastic experience! First of all, the whole thing was so EASY. They provide everything you need, including pizza for the kids. We brought a cake (which I baked myself...because I felt the need to do something!), and some coffee and pastries for the adults since the party was in the morning. There's a separate section in the front for adults, which was absolutely perfect. We were able to relax and socialize with our coffee while the kids were having a grand time in the gym. The kids had a great time. There was a perfect mix of free time and activities coordinated by the employees. And wow - were they great with the kids!! They had 17 kids engaged and having a great time for an hour and a half! They also made my son feel super special as the birthday boy, even giving him a grand entrance for the cake eating part. I had multiple parents comment on how great of a location it was (and believe me - we know kids' birthday party locations), and even a couple parents immediately booked a party or classes. And to top it off, it was one of the more reasonably priced options as far as birthday parties go. I couldn't recommend this place more. read more

This is a fantastic spot for little ones who are on the move! I took my son to a class as a 13 month old (active crawler, about to walk), and he loved it. It's a fine gym for climbing. But open play is better than the classes. I've had a few bad experiences with one of the main staff Kirk. If you get him on a bad day he makes snarky comments about the kids. He will say things like "once again (child's name) is not listening" when a 1 yr old picked up a stepping stone. or "as always the kids ruin everything" when a couple of the kids looked around the back of the puppet screen. He even not so gently plopped down a couple of the kids on their bottoms who were standing to look at puppets. My nanny has had bad experiences with him as well even with our older daughter who hasn't been in over a year. So can't exactly chalk it up to he was having one off day. We used to have Shelly in class who we love but don't see as often anymore. Sad I want to love this place bc it's walkable from my home but.. there are better places. I hope Kirk finds a new job he can be happy. Preferably Not working with kids. read more

I really cannot say enough about this place - they are the best!!! We take my son to the 9 am class on Saturdays! The staff is incredible, and they go out of their way to make sure every single week is full of different activities and developmental exercises for the kids! My husband and I always go together because we enjoy it and never want to miss a class! On top of it being great for our son, it is super easy and convenient for us! You can park right in front and there are always spots available (parking is free with validation). The facilities are very clean, and they switch up the equipment each week, so my son is constantly intrigued and interested in something new every Saturday morning! I love it! We've been coming with our 22 month old daughter. There are some pros such as: each week they rotate the equipment so that it's like something new, the flexibility of make up classes and open gym times, the space and equipment are brand new but the space is just too small. We were looking for something that will enhance our daughter's weaker motor skills, primarily balance but most of the equipment is geared for upper body, such as climbing, etc. While the space offers a lot of variety, our daughter just isn't that interested in climbing and tends to just wander around or play in the ball pit. Just not worth $80/month. This place seems to be great for boys who really want to run and jump around. The biggest drawback is the place is too small with the amount of kids they sign up per class. 22 kids (max.) plus all the adults/caregivers makes this place a madhouse on Saturdays. We have actually been bumped out of "circle time" because there's simply not enough space. The instructors are energetic and the activities are good but just not worth the price. read more

Derrick is almost 2, and he loves going to his classes here. His attention span is pretty short(he's a boy what can I say) but the teachers do such a great job with their program that even he pays attention. There's a certain pattern to the class that's repetitive (circle time, adventure time, independent time, the puppet show), but there's always something new that encourages their balance, upper body strength, tumbling, and so on. I'm so glad I enrolled him in it, and even more so glad there's something for him to do to keep him active during the cold winter time! read more

My son is a very, very active 3 year old so I thought that a class for kids his age with a combination of guided activity and free play would be perfect for him. That might still be true for some but My Gym just isn't for us. We did a class for kids 2.5-3.5 and it was a free for all that has WAY too many kids and parents trying to maneuver around (I won't even go into the lack of curtesy shown by the parents that I encountered during our class. That isn't really My Gym's fault but my God. Your kid screaming that they don't want to share a trampoline doesn't entitle you too it. We pay the same amount to be there, dude). There isn't enough time for all of the kids who wants to try the few guides activities to even enjoy them if they even get a chance because the line can be really long for things like the swings. The "circle" is small and most of the kids are trying to break free and do their own thing because they've been ripped away from their fun to do activities that last for less than five minutes. I'm sure that some families enjoy this space but kiddo was practically pulling me out the door to get out of there and out of the chaos when the one hour class was over. To each their own! read more

The My Gym program is wonderful. The management at this location is horrible. I'd said back in the summer to stop charging my credit card. They charged again. They wouldn't refund and instead gave us 2 months to do make-ups. We didn't do the make-ups (that was the whole point of the original stoping payment, we could no longer attend as much). They just charged again. So at this point they have charged $184 to my credit card after I said stop charging. Their excuse is they were letting us do make-ups, but that makes no sense as my child hasn't been there in over a month, barely a few times in several months, and I'd said to stop charging back in the summer. The My Gym space, program, and teachers are great. Policies and management horrible. read more

Congrats My Gym on your new space. I am writing this review as an old timer My Gym go-er. My kids are now 5 and 7.5 and they still LOVE it. We are just back from their open house where Julia and Kirk are my kids' heroes. I'm always amazed how they seem to know ever single kids' name, no matter what the stretch of time that's passed. Because of their school schedules, we currently only use the summer camp programs. Last year I thought for sure my daughter would have felt "aged-out". Not the case. When I told them today about the Open House, they acted like it was Christmas morning. Unlike other children's play places, they make it fun for all ages. We are excited for their upcoming Cardio class for 7-9 year olds. Don't hesitate, hands-down the best private "gym" classes for your babies, toddler, and "big kids". read more

My twin daughters have been taking classes at MyGym for over a year. They still really like it. Every other mom and tot or preschool prep class I've enrolled them in, they have lost interest or clung to me in class. Not at MyGym, they look forward to going and always seem happy afterwards. Took our daughter to My Gym for a year and have nothing but positives to say about it. The only reason we stopped going is because we are looking to get our daughter into a athletic soccer program instead. The staff here is really great and good with the kids, our daughter always really liked Mike. The space is a good size for the amount of kids with plenty of things to keep them stimulated. They re-arrange equipment so every class there is a different lay out for kids. They do structured exercises through out the class to help focus on specific developmental skills in classes. My daughter had her 4th birthday party here and it was such a huge hit. All the kids had so much fun. The instructors especially Mike was energetic and that set a great tone for the party. It was well organized with lots of fun filled activities. The gym floor was able to hold our huge party with 28 kids plus parents. The only downsize is that it is really tight when it came time to eating since the area is just the front. Wish there was a bigger space for the eating area.
