my car ended up stuck in mud behind my brothers house about 130' from the road. AAA came out and basically laughed at us, declined to even attempt to help. Luckily the driver did refer us to another company--who also could not help but they referred us to MyGuy. And Oh goodness, so fortunate they did. Will answered the call and came out to rescue my car. He was professional, he was personable, and above all he was positive. Did I mention it was raining the whole time??? My best friend was visiting my home. The parking brake failed on his vehicle and it rolled down the street and ended up partially submerged in the retention pond on our HOA property. My neighbor called us to let us know and we immediately called a tow company (Not My Guy, but one who is trusted) The tow company asked us to send an image so he would know what kind of equipment to bring. We did. As we were waiting, we saw "My Guy" come to the scene. We told the driver of "My guy" that we have already contacted another company and they were en route. "My Guy" said, "you must use our service, because we were dispatched by law enforcement. I asked him how much it would be. He said, "I don't really know how to charge for this, but at the most it will be $1,000." I asked him several times why we HAD to use his company and he kept saying, "because we were dispatched by law enforcement". So we cancelled the other company. "My Guy" needed a different type of truck, (apparently he did not consider what type of equipment was needed before getting to the job" so he called another truck. Once that truck arrived, the vehicle was pulled to the pavement in a matter of 30 minutes. Then "my Guy" said we owe him $1,200.00! Then he said "we only accept cash" After we argued over the price, because we were initally told it would not exceed $1,000.00, he finally agreed to $1,000.00. Then told us we had 20 minutes to come up with the cash or he was going to tow it to his location and we would have to pay additional fees for storage and even another fee to allow someone to come pick up the vehicle. This was on a Saturday. Neither myself, nor my friend carries $1k in cash. What kind of company that charges high ticket prices like this can only accept cash? At any rate, several of us scrambled to the teller machine because our banks do not allow $1k in withdrawals.. so we collectively came up with the cash. I realize this guy has a business to run, but so do funeral directors. They might be business owners, but they have no human skills whatsoever. Their listing on Yelp says they take credit cards, yet they refused to take a credit card. They charged $1000 for 30 minutes of work. I will give the guy credit for walking down into the water to attach the cables to the vehicle, as the vehicle was partially submerged in water. I read elsewhere that the Stallings police are "in on the deal" with these folks. I believe that! I do not recommend this company at all! They take a really bad day and make it a literal nightmare. read more

On the evening of 10/26/2018, my daughter was involved in a car accident in Union County. My wife arrived on scene of the crash to make sure she was okay. Both cars had to be towed and My Guy Towing was the company that took our vehicle. My wife, not being familiar with the process, called me and asked where to have the vehicle towed. I told her have it towed to S&M Body Shop in Pineville. The next day, my wife let me know that she asked the driver to take the car to S&M, however, the driver told her they would take it to their lot. He stated that the way it usually works is that the vehicle gets towed back to their lot and the insurance will come out and look at the car and take care of the tow bill along with the process of getting the car fixed. She allowed him to take it back to his storage lot even after her request to take it straight to the body shop. On 10/27, around 5 pm, I called and confronted the driver about why he did not simply do what was asked of him. He said it was not his policy to drop off vehicles to body shops after hours because cars have been stolen. (I did subsequently review his website and this 'policy' is not disclosed.) I then told him that I am a police officer and that I am familiar with how this process works. He could have had my wife pay him directly right then to take the car where she asked instead of taking it to his storage lot where he charges $35-per-day storage fee. He did not offer this option to my wife. I accused him of talking around my wife so he could bring the car back to his lot to charge the storage fee and told him I was going to report him to the Better Business Bureau. He then accused me of intimidating him with abuse of power and stated that he used to be a police officer himself. He stated that I could have another company come pick up the car because he wasn't going to deal with me. He asked if he could call me back and he did a few minutes later. During our next conversation, I let him know I did not appreciate him taking advantage of the situation. He said that I was mad because I called my insurance company and found out they were not going to take care of the towing fees. I know that I only have liability on the vehicle and the cost of tow and repair would be my responsibility, which is why I wanted the vehicle towed directly to the body shop. Wanting to be rid of him and this situation, I asked him how and when could I get my vehicle. He said that he would tow it Monday to S&M Body Shop and I would need to bring cash to pay for the bill. I asked him how much it would be and he said he could tell me Monday morning when I call. On Monday, I called and he stated that he was not going to charge me an additional tow fee or the storage fee. He stated if I would have just explained all of this to him and not gotten hot, this would never have happened. He then said that the total bill would be $420. My vehicle was towed from 601 in Union County to S&M Body Shop in Pineville NC. The week before this same car had to be towed from a similar location to an automotive shop in Pineville. Dellinger Wrecker charged $175 for the tow. My Guy Towing would not have changed their position on the additional towing fee and storage fee if he believed that he had done nothing wrong. I believe this adjustment was an attempt for him to convince me to not file a complaint. read more

This place shouldn't be any guys towing. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Stay away. I had to have my brand new BMW R1200R motorcycle towed. Under 700 miles - not a scratch nor piece of dirt on it. When I picked it up the next day one of the mirrors was messed up, muffler dented, major damage to the engine cover, dirt all over the fender and a few other scrapes - $2980 in damage. Of course the crooks there denied any responsibility but it was either taken for a joy ride and dumped or fell over when they were moving it. Had a great experience with getting my car done here. It is a very old car, needs all kinds of repairs with some frequency. This was by far and away one of the best and most professional experiences I've had in a long time getting this car done, and in the shape it was in, it came back like a miracle worker had taken it over. Can't say enough of good things about this place. I see some bad reviews on here, I cannot comment on those, but I would definitely say that mechanics generally aren't obliged to attend charm school in order to operate. Like other reviewers, I've had some negative experiences in that regard, but I certainly didn't have it at this place. read more

Totally unreliable. Scheduled a tow on Saturday because they could not get to it on Friday. Went by my office and van was still there at 3:00. Called and got message, no return call, called back an hour later and he was sorry, something broke could he do it on Monday. Lots of excuses why he couldn't call and tell me or return my phone call. I reported him to the BBB, which he is not BBB accredited. He basical stole my car. He was to tow from place A to place B. At place B he tried to collect money for extra miles. We were surrendering the car to a title loan business so he also tried to say it was a repo. which it wasn't . He lied to my insurance company which is Geico. When the title loan place wouldn't pay he took the car to his lot. No one told me this and I found out a month later that this man had the car! He claimed he called me the title loan place called me and my insurance comp. called me. All lies. I ended up paying the title loan some money that I would not have to pay if he had dropped the car instead of trying to extort money from them. He also told Geico when I called to file a complaint on him that the storage fee was 2000.00 something but when he responded to the BBB he said it was 900.00.... If you have Geico tell them you don't want My Guy Towing sent. If the chance comes he will take take advantage of you and rob you. Ask for Extreme Towing very nice people and they are BBB accredited. So you know I am told he will put a mechanic's lien on MY car and that is how he will get the title to do what he want s with it.Total thief he is! Our car was involved in an accident recently and was rendered inoperable but not totaled. The Sheriff contacted this towing company to come tow the car to our shop. Our shop was closed at the time as the accident occurred later in the day. The owner convinced to us let him take the car to his lot and he would take to our shop the next morning.The next morning after making a claim with the insurance, the claims rep suggested a 3 way call with My Guy to make arrangements for the shop to pick up the car. The owner led us to believe that the car was already en route to the shop. About an hour later, the shop called looking for the car, asking if we needed them to go pick it up. We assumed it had already been dropped off but it had not. When we called My Guy back, the owner stated he had to get gas and his was still on his way. The car didn't actually arrive until about 2 hours after our original conversation with him that morning. It does not take that long to get from his place of business to the shop. Had the shop picked it up, he would not have been able to charge a second towing fee. Although the vehicle was at his lot less than 24 hrs, he charged around $600 which be believe is outrageous! Our insurance is handling the charge. We began to wonder what kind of reputation this business had. After looking online for reviews, I found that others had made similar complaints against this business with the BBB and the yellow pages website. We followed the Sheriff's recommendation because we did not have a tow place in mind, we have not had to have car towed before in the CLT area. We plan to write them advising them not to refer drivers to tow shops like this that seem to be taking advantage of car owners by overcharging them. They should not be facilitating this business. Do yourself a favor and research a reputable tow shop in advance and have that that info readily available to you in case you are ever in need of towing. Don't rely on the police to call you a tow truck. I cannot in good conscience recommend this business to anyone. read more

This company was contracted by my insurance company to tow my car which had broken down the day before in a public parking lot. The guy (Armand) gave them an ETA of 1 hour and then turned around and called me and said he would be there in 15 mins. We live half an hour away. He said he was going to do another call and would meet my husband at the original scheduled time, between noon and 12:15. My husband arrived at 11:50 just to be sure He didn't miss him. He then called my husband at said time and said he would be 30 minutes late and was very, very rude. Armand then called our insurance company back, said he had shown up to pick up the car and there was no one there, which was a lie. Following that, he called me, started out with an attitude saying he told me he was going to 15 minutes late, that he didn't have to deal with my d*** s***, was not coming for our car and hung up the phone. My insurance company called the company to complain about this and the company refused to hear the complaint. This is a horrible horrible business and extremely unprofessional. I have reported this to the BBB, posted online and to my insurance company. read more
