I tried on the web site, but it insisted on taking a ton of personal data before it would just tell me if it could serve me. Some of that data helps it know if they have the part, and that makes sense, but they don't need an email address to say "yes, we can get you in as soon as you need". When it got to asking my insurance data, I drew the line. I don't want my insurance company involved unless they say they have an appointment, so I stopped and decided to call. But by now they had my email and are now doing direct marketing I wish I could stop because I'm not doing business with them ever again. Anyway, I called and the bot on the phone refused to let me talk to a person unless I gave it data that I'd already given once and anyway I was in a hurry. The office was not far, so I decided to chance it since it had told me that the needed parts were in stock. But when I got to the office, they said they took no responsibility for the phone or web stuff, that that was out of their control, and in fact they don't have inventory, no matter what the thing on the web said, and so I would definitely not be able to get an appointment. The guy was nice enough, but the overall organization went in my mind from super-nicely organized (when it first told me it could tell from my VIN number what part it needed) to really bad once I realized how this was slick but really uncoordinated. Now it was later in the day and I'd missed my chance probably on other places and I was starting to feel demoralized. By the way, I also tried putting in my plate number rather than a VIN number, and it told me it was registered to another car. I doubt that. All of these systems seem to ignore the trailing hyphen in plate numbers and prefer to send just the letters, so that probably got the same plate without the hyphen, but I am 100% sure I entered it correctly and the car it thinks it was registered to, it is not. Nor do I think that plate was in anyone else's hands ever, but certainly not for the last 20 years. That was before I gave it the VIN number, so it can't have been confusing that. Anyway, I have nothing good to say about this operation. I ended up going with a competitor and taking a day even farther out than Safelite probably could have gotten just because I was so aggravated with the way they handled things that I didn't want to deal with them. Now I just wish I could force them to erase my info from their direct marketing database.

Got a quote from Monadnock glass for much less! In fact almost half or less than price! They were super polite over the phone and I had to rescheduled they did such an awesome job.
