Nonetheless we bought a few cards and lesser priced things, only to be treated so rudely at check out. The owner (or cashier, we don't know), didn't even look us in the eye as she rang up our orders. She never said hello, goodbye, or thank you. It was so dismissive. We rang up our orders at different times, but by the time we met back on the street to find our car, we were like; "was that woman a bitch or what!!!" We both had the same experience. Over the years my mom has bought many different items from this store to decorate our house with. They have many unique items that you wouldn't be able to find in a chain type store. The only downside to this though is that some of the items are over-priced in my opinion. I love the building they are in on D street, but sadly this is their last week there. They are now moving to a new location. We will still definitely give them our business, it just won't be the same without the nice squeaky hardwood floors. Gold Mountain is a specialty store and gift shop with something for everyone. The store front is pretty spectacular and you can tell the owner put a lot of thought and love into the setup. My husband and I picked up some home decor items that were made in Japan, including a well-crafted food tray with a rabbit theme that perfectly goes with our living room decor. I picked up some stuffed animals for our niece and nephew, as well as a unique tea set for my aunt. There are plenty of other interesting things that caught our attention, including a friendly cat that wanders about the store and never goes out the door. Prices are very reasonable, so do yourself and the community a favor by coming in and shopping small :)
