Andy and the janitors are wonderful! . They really do help to make your event special and easy. I loved that they made extra sure to keep traffic clear from the walk way during our ceremony. If your interested in the venue but unsure of the path way don't be! people are pleasant and polite. never had much foot traffic or any problems anyway. Parking way a breeze. We rented upstairs area for kiddos and getting ready. Really wonderful photo opportunities, especially because the park is down the street. We took our group photo there! They gave us plenty of space for our vendors parking lot and all patio areas. The lights inside are disable we never got around to it but it was very pretty. We used 14 tables and all rectangles and belly bars. The ceremony was so cute and perfect for our party. We had 125 ppl. Everything fit perfectly nobody felt squished, which during cover was very appreciated. We were able to get into a few weeks before and set tables up to see where we wanted all of them. eased the stress of seating arrangements. All The French doors to the venue , overlooking the water were just perfect. I was worried the 2 bathrooms weren't going to be enough but we had no problems all night. We got our full deposit back, that only happened cuz we had family that helped us clean up afterwards BUT its a fairly easy clean up just be sure to tell whoever cleaning CHECK THE LIST! He was incredibly responsive throughout the process and remained highly engaged in discussing our plans. =PROS= *Extensive decor included. The package came with beautiful florals and centerpieces, and we were able to view a sample table set up that felt simple yet elegant *Food was included and notably served plated, which is typically an expensive upgrade at many other venues *Clean bathrooms with multiple stalls, which was surprisingly uncommon after touring so many venues *DJ and wedding planner services were already included *Photobooth upgrade was offered at a very reasonable price =CONS= *Very limited parking. We were grateful valet service was included for our larger guest count, but I would strongly recommend this upgrade if not already part of the package *No groom suite. There was a small bridal suite available, though it would feel cramped for anyone beyond just the bride *Limited greenery surrounding the ceremony area. Aside from some shrubbery, there was very little natural scenery and noticeable street noise nearby The pricing was extremely competitive and this likely would have been our choice had I not personally prioritized a venue with more natural surroundings. From both a financial and planning standpoint, this option removed a lot of the usual wedding stress because of how many services were already bundled together. Robert took the time to chat with us and help us navigate the world of wedding planning in San Diego. Even prior to booking them, he spent time chatting with us and genuinely gave us ideas and support to go on our way with our vendor search and decision making. We did our tasting at the Abbey downtown and got to taste our meal at this venue. They asked a lot of questions so that they could just our meal just right. The Abbey was responsible for the catering and bar service at our event. A few months prior to our event, we were assigned our event captain Petr Trebin! HE IS FABULOUS! We loved his enthusiasm, attention to detail and style and focus on ensuring that everyone was well taken care of! Our event was seamless and everything went incredibly smooth. Upon entering our reception, the Martini Tree brought the wow factor! The hanging drinks caught the eye of our guests and warmly welcomed them into the reception. Many of our guests raved over the food and went out of their way to stress how delicious everything tasted. We chose a handful of delicious tray passed appetizers including the bacon wrapped figs, cream cheese wontons and soyrizo quesadillas and for dinner, chose the Abbey Signature Salad (mixed greens with walnuts) and Dual Entree plate with short rib, panko crusted chicken, truffle mashed potatoes and vegetables. Through out our event, Petr was a ninja- behind the scenes ensuring that everything was going as planned. He worked hand in hand with our coordinator and ensured we were well fed and that we had food readily at our disposal (SO IMPORTANT on your wedding day). He plated us all of our apps in a beautiful display. We actually felt full from how much we ate, which we hear is so rare from couples on their wedding day and were grateful for how attentive Petr was. In addition, our guests shared that the bartenders were rockstars! The drinks were pouring and it made for an epic dance party on the dance floor. The Abbey came highly recommended by our venue coordinator and we understand why. We had a great experience with them and are glad they were a part of our big day!
