She must have done a pretty good job because I've been going there since that first visit. But going back to that first visit sometime ago..... This Salon is on the 1st floor of the Turley Law Center building near just north of Mockingbird on 75 NB. The entire building has very friendly complimentary valet parking that's quick and purposeful unlike most valet stands in Dallas there is actually a reason to have valet here, the parking garage is small. The Salon is through the front doors and to the left. Valorie is an older Hungarian lady that retains her somewhat heavy foreign accent. She's a class A barber and come to find out thats a pretty unique classification. They are the only grade of barbers licensed by the state to give straight razor shaves. Time for the review of the shave. Its an experience worth having ONCE in your lifetime. Its quite the ritual of lotions, hot towels, facial massage, lubricant and finally shaving cream. Its really pretty impressive she even has a heated shaving cream dispenser. The final product, its pretty good, but very time consuming and only about as close as my Panasonic electric shaver. No where near the closeness of a multi blade razor like Quattro, Fusion or Mach 3. She didn't make me bleed and my face felt great. Also she uses the straight razor to put the finishing touches on her hair cuts as well. A nice touch that in my opinion is required for any mens hair cut. She'll get around the ears and the entire neck with the razor. You wont find a more clean, even cut for anywhere near the $35 she charges.
